34. Chapter 34 #2
“We’ll have the room for Devlin and Cain empty by this weekend, get it cleaned, and then have them move their things next week. Roman should be able to move all his belongings by next weekend.” Maven says as he scribbles all the notes on his calendar. “Now… get the fuck out.”
I grab Roman and drag him out of Maven’s office. As soon as we step through the door, Roman spins me around and pins me against the wall, the folder I’m carrying dropping to the ground in a flurry of paperwork.
“Well?” He asks playfully. “Ready to live together?”
“You have no fucking idea,” I reply as I stare up at him, rubbing my hands up his chest.
“Good,” he replies before leaning down and giving me a chaste kiss. “Me too.”
“Absolutely not,” Ollivander barks as soon as he comes through the door. “Get a fucking room.”
Roman gives me a devious smirk. “Mmm. Happily.”
Then he grabs the spilled papers from the floor and drags me to my apartment.
Our apartment.
As soon as my front door opens, Roman drops my folder, papers scattering in every direction.
He knows that I have multiple copies of everything, so we both ignore the way they crinkle beneath our feet.
I giggle between kisses as I stumble, trying to kick my shoes off.
We’re both fumbling and tripping over one another as we slowly work our way inside my apartment.
Roman starts impatiently plucking at the button of my jeans when someone clears their throat behind us.
We immediately tear our faces apart and glance over to the living room. Cain stands there in nothing but his boxers with… Thorne? Cain reaches over and smacks Thorne in the chest, causing him to rub at his sternum.
“I was watching that!” He pouts as he glares up at Thorne angrily.
Thorne grabs him by the back of the neck and pulls him close enough to whisper in his ear.
Cain, the needy man he is, squirms until Thorne releases him.
A pleased smirk grows on his lips alongside a bright blush as he stares up at Thorne like we’re not even here.
In mere seconds he seems to remember that they aren’t alone, and he hastily scrambles around to grab his belongings that have been abandoned on the floor.
He yanks his jeans up his legs, not even bothering to button them.
“We’re heading out for the evening. Devlin is working tonight.
You guys have fun.” He rushes out as he grabs his shirt, struggling to get it over his head.
Thorne chuckles as he repositions the fabric so that he can get his head through the hole.
Cain nearly stumbles over as he leans down to grab his shoes.
He storms past us, still barefooted, and rips open the door.
“Good to see you again, Lance. Glad to see you’re doing well.” Thorne says with a nod as he strolls past us nonchalantly.
Roman and I watch in a stunned silence as the door slowly closes behind them. What in the… ?
“I thought that Devlin was interested in Thorne?”
“I saw Dev with Thorne at the coffee shop the other day.” Roman replies as we both stare at the door, completely flabbergasted.
I shake off the cobwebs before grabbing Roman by the wrist. “I don’t even want to know. Let’s get cleaned up and grab some dinner.”
Instead of going out, Roman cooks us dinner in our kitchen, and we watch tv together until it starts to get dark outside. Once the sun sets, I convince him, without much argument, to lounge outside with me for a little while.
“Have you still been having nightmares?” He asks as he looks over at me and runs his fingers through my hair.
I shake my head against the blanket we laid out on the ground. “Not since we’ve been sleeping together every night. I’m not sure if it’s because of that or if it’s because Gatlin and Blaine are safe now.”
“I don’t really think you had much to worry about anyway,” he says as he turns to face the starry sky again. “Blaine would sooner dig his own grave then let someone even look at Gatlin the wrong way.”
I quietly chuckle because it’s pretty true, honestly. “It wasn’t like that before. That’s… new.”
“What do you mean?” He turns toward me again, waiting for me to clarify.
“I was the only one that was gay when I left and now, we’re all gay. It’s a lot to wrap my head around,“ I admit as I turn on my side and look at him. “I mean, I had a hunch that Blaine was, but Gatlin never said anything that even insinuated that he might be gay.”
Roman shrugs his shoulders. “He might not identify as gay. Maybe he’s attracted to girls, too. Does it really matter?”
I poke my lip out as I shake my head. “Not really. He’ll like it here better, either way. So will Blaine. I’m happy for them. It’s just weird to see, you know?”
He nods as he looks down at our hands and gently rubs his thumb against my knuckles. “Because they’re both your brothers?”
“I guess. I didn’t even know that Blaine wasn’t related to us. Or Mathis. As far as I knew, we all had the same father, so it’s just… a lot. I’ll get over it, eventually.“ I admit as I watch how his finger trails over my flesh.
“It’s no different than Cain and Devlin, really.” He replies as his eyes meet mine again.
I furrow my brows in confusion. “What do you mean?”
“I guess they keep it pretty private so they don’t confuse people, but I’m pretty sure they’re a thing. Right after they got here, when they were in quarantine, I saw them kissing each other on the camera.”
“Wait…” I say as I lean up on my elbow. “Are you seriously telling me that I’ve been living with them this long and not only did I believe that they were actual brothers, but I somehow missed that they’re… what? A couple?”
