34. Chapter 34 #3

“I don’t know,” he shrugs. “I saw what I saw. It was private. You’re the only other person that knows and I’m definitely not going to ask them about it. Especially not with Thorne being involved now.”

“Well… alrighty then.” I huff out as I glance out toward the ocean.

I can barely see it stretching out on the horizon, a sea of black under the night sky.

The firepit flickers weakly as embers swirl around in the breeze that’s sweeping in off the coast. A comfortable silence settles between us as we enjoy all the sounds of nature.

It’s hard to believe that my heart feels this full.

I never even dreamed that I could be this happy.

I look over at Roman, and I still can’t imagine how I ever survived without him.

I have a hard time connecting the people we were before to the people we are now.

I can’t fathom how I ever had something negative to say about him, because he’s the most incredible person I’ve ever met.

“Pretty boy,” Roman whispers as he stares back at me.

“Hmm,” I hum with a shy smile.

“It’s getting chilly. Ready to head inside?”

I nod as I sit up, “Yeah.”

Roman grabs the blanket and tosses it through the window before we both climb inside.

We’re passing kisses back and forth as we lazily strip down to our boxers, falling over one another before Roman plops back onto the bed teasingly.

I crawl over him, trailing kisses along the lines of ink across his chest before moving up his neck.

He tangles his fingers in my hair and pulls my lips to his.

Everything about this night is quiet and languid.

There’s a sense of peace that’s finally settled inside of me.

It feels like the world is finally right where it belongs.

Every tragedy I faced, every sleepless night, every day I counted without food, every floor I scrubbed on my hands and knees, and every day I survived… they lead me to this.

There’s no reason to rush anymore. There’s no hint of urgency to our movements.

We’re just two souls lost in this reality we worked so hard to create.

I almost feel high, like I’m floating through this moment in a haze of euphoria.

As I grind my hips against him, I realize that this feels like the perfect time to be the night.

“Roman,” I murmur against his lips. “Fuck me.”

“Mmm,” he hums before flipping us over and grinding against me. “I was wondering when you were finally going to ask.”

He pulls away just long enough to take off what’s left of our clothes before digging around for the lube.

We’re usually at his apartment since he doesn’t have a roommate anymore, which means that my supplies haven’t been touched in a while.

Well, at least not the ones in my drawer, the lube in my shower is an entirely different story.

It appears as though the drawer of my nightstand has eaten it or something because it takes him an eternity to return with it in hand.

My hands and lips stay busy as Roman adds lube and starts teasing me.

That haze of euphoria from earlier turns into a fog of lust as he gently forces his way inside of me.

He’s slow and careful as he works me open, literally driving me insane with every passing second.

He shifts to two fingers before I feel the pressure and faint burn of him adding a third.

“Mm, ‘m— I’m ready,” I mumble out past his lips.

“Please, Roman.” I beg as I try to push him away.

He chuckles as he leans back, his fingers still inside of me.

There’s a gripping moment of panic when he pulls them back, but he replaces the pressure from them almost immediately.

Not pushing inside of me yet, just keeping me placated for the time being.

He leans over me, placing gentle kisses along my jaw.

“You’re sure?”

“Sure?” I ask, almost appalled. “About you? About us? More sure than I’ve ever been about anything in my entire life, Roman. Sure about why you’re not already putting your dick in me? No. No, I’m not.”

He chuckles as he plants more kisses along my flesh. He trails a hand down to my hip, and the other he uses to guide himself inside of me.

“Oh God,” I whine as the tip presses inside of me. I try to move my hips to get him further inside, but his hand on my hip keeps me in place.

“Patience, pretty boy. You’re doing great.” He praises, and I want to preen, but I need more. So much more. I lean my head up, glaring at him.

“I’m fine, Roman. I just need you to get inside of me before I literally combust.”

He presses harder, almost slipping all the way in, causing my head to plop back against the mattress.

He grabs my chin, forcing me to open my eyes and look at him as he starts to move back and forth. “Stay with me, Lance. I’ve got you, okay?”

A whimper slips out of me as he glides across the exact spot I need him before I try to nod. “Always? You swear it?” I beg.

He smirks at me. “Scout’s honor, pretty boy. Scouts honor.”
