Chapter Fourteen

With all the changes Blaze’s life had been through in only a year, Blaze would have thought everyday life would feel weird. It didn’t. As Blaze watched his sexy husband get ready for bed, he saw the lottery he had won in life.

“Hey.”

German glanced over his shoulder. “Hey to you too.”

“I have a confession.”

At his statement, German turned. He headed toward the bed where Blaze waited for him. “What’s that?”

Blaze waited until German was on his side, facing him, before he answered. “At Valon’s wedding, I bumped into you on purpose.”

German’s smile made Blaze’s insides dance. “Really? I just thought you were high.”

Blaze laughed. “I figured as much when you were like, ‘six feet is practically invisible,’ or some shit like that.”

“I might’ve been a little annoyed.”

His cheeks ached from smiling. “You don’t say.” Blaze infused as much sarcasm as possible into that one statement. “Still, I found the nerve to come right back and drag you into the pool house with me.”

“Found? You’re cocky as hell. I’m positive there wasn’t a single doubt in your head that I’d go with you.”

Blaze snorted. “That’s not cockiness. I was just determined. You’d been standing there alone through the entire reception until Steel approached you.”

German rolled his eyes. “You had like six people vying for your attention. Was I just a challenge in a sea of the willing?”

“No.” Blaze scooted closer and threw his leg over German’s hip.

“It was actually kind of odd. I couldn’t stop looking your way.

You looked familiar to me, but I knew we’d never met.

I couldn’t stop myself from manufacturing a meeting.

You fascinated me. You were so relaxed with being alone.

I could tell you didn’t feel awkward at all.

You’re someone who could be alone without a twinge of loneliness. I had to know you.”

German ran his hand up Blaze’s hip. His expression had Blaze picturing all the dirty things. “Whatever the reason, I’m glad you tried plowing me down. That was a damn good night.”

“It was.” Blaze shoved his hand down the front of German’s pants. He stroked German’s cock. His gaze never wavered from German’s face. “But you didn’t let me watch you jack off that night. I feel cheated.”

German smiled. “Do you? I’ve given you countless shows since then.”

Blaze shook his head. “Not like that one. FaceTime doesn’t count.”

German pursed his lips as if he thought Blaze was full of shit. “Hmphh. Then maybe I should make that up to you sometime.”

Blaze pulled his hand out and backed up, giving German space. “Let me watch now.”

German’s eyebrows lifted. “Do I get to watch too?”

They held each other’s stare and then scrambled from their clothes.

German raced to lock the bedroom door before returning to Blaze’s side in a flash.

They stared at each other, stroking themselves.

No kisses. No touching. They simply handled themselves while their gazes never wavered.

German’s face looked flushed. His breathing got heavier.

The closer German got to blowing, Blaze matched him.

There was no stopping the overwhelming lust from taking control.

It was over fast. Way too fast. They were always too hot for each other and German just made him horny as hell.

Still, Blaze never looked away as German was in the throes of pleasure.

Even as he blew, having waves of ecstasy pulsing from his cock, Blaze never gave his eyes permission to close. He watched every second.

They gasped for air. The speed at which they had blown might have been a bit embarrassing as their skin cooled.

But German rolled away and headed for the bathroom before Blaze could point out the quickness of the show.

He really thought they should go for round two.

German came back clean and with a wet washcloth.

German did his best to scrub away any mess they had made.

He kept stopping to steal deep, sexy kisses.

There was so much passion in the room. He was definitely getting that second round.

Blaze hadn’t known life could feel like this.

If he had, Blaze would have scoured the earth to find German sooner.

Only after they were set to rights did German unlock the door.

They put a towel down, which should have happened first, but it was whatever.

The way they felt together didn’t always wait around for good sense to prevail.

Once again, on their sides, they stared at each other.

Blaze’s heart begged for the moment to never end.

He realized he wanted this part more. The part where they just poured into each other.

This had been his biggest reason for falling so quickly for German.

When they focused on each other, the way they did now, it felt like they were two halves of one soul savoring being whole.

“I love you.”

At Blaze’s words, German smiled. God, he was beautiful.

“I love you too. Are you still disappointed about that night? If not, you should be.” German laughed.

“I don’t think I’ve come that fast since I was twelve and stuck in a wet dream.

Just let me regain my strength. I’ll never let you down again. ”

“What?” Blaze growled. “I never said I was disappointed or let down. That night was fucking awesome. I couldn’t stop thinking about it afterward.”

German’s laughter stopped his tirade. “I’m only fucking with you. You should know that. I couldn’t stop thinking about it either.” He turned serious. “Is it possible to fall in love in an instant and not even realize it?”

Goddamn. German always knew what to say.

The bedroom door opened. “There’s a monster outside my window.” The words were so matter-of-fact that Blaze almost laughed.

They shared a smile and rolled from the bed at the same time.

German swept Ben from the floor as he headed for the door. “Let's go take care of that. We paid good money for a monster-free room on this trip.”

Blaze stayed on German’s heels. He gave Ben a sharp nod. “Ain’t no monster a match for your dad. Look at how big he is?”

Ben laughed, but he still clung to German like he was scared.

About three weeks after Christmas, Ben had accidentally called German Daddy.

German didn’t correct him. Blaze knew he wanted to be whoever Ben needed.

Ben didn’t stop. The next time they spoke with Dara, she reinforced the name change after Ben referred to German as Daddy.

Since then, anytime she mentioned German in their phone calls, she called him Daddy.

So, that was who they were now: Uncle Justin and Daddy.

They hadn’t wanted to confuse him by using Blaze.

It really was whatever. Blaze answered to both.

In Ben’s assigned room for the trip, they froze inside the doorway.

There really was something moving around outside.

German passed Ben to Blaze. They were on vacation, and there was a narrow-connected balcony outside all the suite’s bedrooms. They were also low enough for anyone to climb up and break in.

Blaze hadn’t considered that before now.

“We should get the security team.” Blaze’s suggestion came too late. German swept aside the sheer curtain. He laughed and pulled the curtains all the way open.

Ben squealed. “It’s a fucking giraffe.”

Blaze covered his eyes at Ben’s shout. He fought not to laugh, and it was turning into a losing battle, especially when German muttered under his breath, “I really need to watch my language.”

Blaze set Ben on the floor, and Ben ran for the window.

German picked him up and opened the sliding glass door.

There was a container of large leaves to feed the giraffes, since this was part of the selling points of the hotel.

Blaze had completely forgotten about it since they hadn’t seen a single animal before now.

He had honestly been a little irritated about that.

They had only chosen this room because Ben had found a love for animals after German had taken him to meet Jathan Dexter.

Since he was Blaze’s favorite basketball star, retired or not, the trip had been meant as a surprise for Blaze.

However, Jathan lived on a working ranch full of horses.

Ben had been thrilled. He hadn’t shown an ounce of fear when Jathan’s husband had put him on a sweet-tempered mare.

German helped Ben feed the giraffe while speaking in low tones.

Blaze couldn’t hear what was said over the breeze whipping through the room.

But he couldn’t look away. There was a contentment in his chest that he couldn’t describe.

That was his husband acting the dad to a nephew Blaze fell in love with more every day.

Blaze hadn’t known life could feel like this.

He had lived riding a high of adrenaline and stardom for so many years.

Then this sexy as fuck guy had held his stare while Blaze stroked himself.

A romantic meet-cute if Blaze ever heard one.

Now here Blaze was, absolutely addicted to his life. A story as old as time.
