Chapter 29
Gabriella
So, Emma gave me a bunch of romance novels, some dark, some just spicy, at least that’s what she said.
She said I needed to brush up on my cliterature as it might loosen me up for the bedroom.
I personally don’t think I need to be loosened up.
Vic and I used to be extremely experimental when we were younger.
Of course, when I explained that to Emma, she asked one question, When did that fun experimental spice stop?
That last deployment wrecked me. Everything I went through, and he wasn’t here. I know it wasn’t his fault, but I just can’t shake that feeling of resentment, or maybe it’s disappointment in myself. Whatever the feeling, Vic came back, and our relationship wasn’t even a ghost of what it used to be.
Over the past month, the small changes that we’ve made have begun to heal some of those wounds slowly. I won’t ever tell Vic the whole story of that last deployment, but I hope that we can work things out while I keep that one piece locked away.
With an eagerness I haven’t felt in a while, I jog up the stairs, already taken my heels off.
I quickly change into leggings and a sports bra, then reach for one of my shirts, but get a better idea.
Without a second thought, I rush across the hall into Vic’s bedroom and grab one of his t-shirts from his hamper.
I would grab a clean one, but those smell like clean laundry. This one smells like him.
When I throw it on, I’m assaulted by fiery oranges and mechanic shop scent, along with Vic’s sweat. God, he smells so manly and delicious. Is that weird? I guess some people might think it’s gross, but they can kiss my ass.
Sitting here in the garage with my book, while Vic works on the Camino, is a recommendation from Emma.
She told me that we should spend time together, even if we’re doing different things.
So here I sit, reading my spicy book while Stone Temple Pilots plays in the background and Vic tinkers under the chassis of his hoopty.
Twenty minutes pass. Vic and I haven’t said a word to each other, but I have to admit it’s been nice to just be in his presence. I’m also really getting into this book. So into it that this chapter I’m reading is starting to make me squirm on the mechanic’s stool I’m sitting on.
“Hey, Rockstar.” Vic’s voice is playful as he rolls out from under the Camino, turning his music down. “Wanna tell me about what you’re reading? I mean, that’s a pretty interesting cover.” He mischievously grins.
I giggle. Ugh, I totally just giggled. Rolling my eyes at myself, I explain the very handsome half-naked man and scantily dressed woman on the cover of the book.
“This is one of the books that Emma recommended for me to read. She said it would get me in touch with my spicy side.” I feel stupid saying that out loud.
“Your spicy side, huh?” His tone is teasing, but I think he’s a little confused, too.
I close my book after dog-earing the page and set the book in my lap. Vic wheels the other mechanic’s stool over to me, our legs in between each other’s. I feel like a girl with a crush right now, so weird.
“Emma said that a lot of women read these books, not just for the spice, but for the approval. Well, no, not approval. I guess reading this stuff helps us see that exploring things in the bedroom is normal and okay.” I shrug.
“And that there are other women out there who think like us, otherwise they wouldn’t write stories like this.
” I’m not sure if that made any sense, but Vic nods slowly.
“So, it’s like when Kerri shows me stupid dad shit on those social media videos and I feel validated because other dads do the same shit I do?”
“Actually, yes. It’s kind of validation that it’s okay to like things that society doesn’t necessarily normalize.” Yeah, okay, he gets it.
“Okay, so read it to me.”
My eyes bug out of my head, and I probably look like one of those googly-eyed goldfish. “I’m sorry? What?”
Vic laughs out loud, like hard. God, I love his laugh, just all smooth, warm, and genuine. “Oh, you heard me, baby. Read it out loud. I may have been under a vehicle, but I saw your legs. I wanna hear what’s got you all squirmy.”
I take a deep breath and purse my lips, contemplating. Vic sees my resolve when I breathe out, and he lifts his head in victory. “Fine, I’ll read it to you, but you have to go back under the vehicle and continue working. I can’t look at you and read this aloud.”
“I’m done under there, but I’ll work under the hood.
I won’t even look at you. Here I go. Not even looking.
” Vic’s back is to me, but I hear the smile in his voice.
He’s bent under the hood now; however, he’s only about six feet from where I sit, and for what I am about to read, that is definitely not far enough.
After about a minute of psyching myself up, I start to read aloud anyway.
“A small moan escapes me as I run my tongue along his collarbone. He tastes like sweat, and man. I love it. Alexander keeps hold of my hips while I continue my assault on his neck, ears, and lips. A low groan vibrates his chest when I start to kiss down to his muscular pecs, running my hands down his chiseled abs, past his belt buckle, groping the huge bulge in his jeans –”
“For real?” Vic snorts and spins around to face me. “Is this guy Superman? Muscular pecs, chiseled abs, and a giant dong? I can’t compete with this, baby.”
I lift the book, partially covering my face in embarrassment, but keep my eyes on Vic as he lazily leans against the car, wiping off his hands. “Do you want me to keep going or not?” I huff with mock irritation.
Vic motions a keep going gesture with his hand, but doesn’t turn back around, so instead I swivel in my chair to face my back toward him.
“Alexander slides his hand up my body, flowing with every curve, and grasps my hair, pulling back with a force, causing my eyes to sting with tears. ‘Don’t fuck with me, Lyla.’ His words come out sharp and angry.
Truthfully, he has every right since I’ve chickened out the last three times we’ve been in a situation like this, but played it off as if I was teasing him, too embarrassed to tell him how nervous I was.
But now? Now I want this. I want his cock in my mouth and my name on his lips when he comes.
‘No games this time. I promise. Tell me what you want, Alexander.’ I’m pleading with my eyes for him to make me kneel in front of him. If he’s the one directing this, then I won’t look so needy. At least that’s what I tell myself.
‘On your knees, baby girl.’ Oh, Jesus. The air just became thicker. My legs are shaking as I kneel in front of him, eyes locked on his. I can feel the wetness between my thighs. I should be embarrassed, but fuck that. I want this. ‘Take it out and put your mouth around my cock like a good girl.’
“Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. I am so turned on and nervous at the same time. What if I’m bad? I’ve never done this before.
“Alexander can see me starting to get into my own head, so he runs his fingers up the back of my head and grips my hair at the roots, guiding himself into my mouth. He’s so big, I have to relax my jaw and breathe through my nose.
I’ll have to thank Jenny for sharing that little tidbit of knowledge with me.
“A loud groan comes from Alexander’s mouth, followed by a hiss of my name, and I’m filled with a new wave of gusto.
I want to make him say my name again. I want him to lose control.
I run the flat of my tongue back and forth along the underside of his dick, putting extra pressure on that little spot right before the head, then drop my mouth down as far as I can go, causing myself to gag.
Another rumble falls from Alexander as I –”
“Mom? Dad?” The garage door swings open, and Kerri and Abby come bounding down the stairs. I drop my book and spin around to see that Vic is standing directly in front of me. Was he there the whole time? Oh, Jesus, Vic has a huge bulge in his pants!
A bark of laughter comes out of me as I replay the words I just thought to myself. Vic’s eyebrows furrow, and he gestures down, looking at me like, What the fuck do I do?
I quickly grab the rag from his hands and drop it on the ground by the car.
Vic moves to pick it up, standing back up with the car in front of him so he can face the girls.
I don’t miss a beat and walk over to the girls on the steps before they can make it any farther.
“Girls, you’re home early. Was practice canceled?
” My voice is a little shaky from trying to prevent my laughter from bursting out.
Abby responds, looking suspiciously between me and Vic, “Coach shortened practice because of our game tomorrow. It’s at five o’clock, and I’m playing with Kerri on varsity. Are you guys coming?”
Vic and I both respond with vigorous yesses, probably a little too enthusiastically, given that the girls both look at us like we’re on drugs.
“Ooookay.” Kerri draws out her response.
“You guys are acting weird. We are gonna go do homework and grab some food.” With that, they both turn and leave the garage.
I look over at Vic, and the bark of laughter that explodes from my mouth echoes in the garage.
When I wipe the tears from my eyes, I see that Vic is laughing just as hard.
“Well, I think that’s enough reading aloud for now,” I tell Vic as we get ourselves under control.
“Okay, but… I have questions…”
