Sangria
Sangria
This is a much-loved drink with the adults in my family.
There isn’t a specific recipe. You just put in amounts you think will be delicious and taste it.
It’s best to make it early in the day so the fruit can soak in the wine mixture.
My family has always made it with red wine, though I’m sure it could be equally as good with white.
We’ve kept our tradition and, on the whole, are more red wine drinkers.
This mixture is easy to triple or quadruple, or…
I don’t need to tell you. You get the picture.
I have a big family, and yeah, that’s why.
INGREDIENTS:
Brandy—maybe a couple of shots worth per bottle
1 cup or more of lemonade, orange juice or both
Apples and oranges (also see note for other fruit ideas)
DIRECTIONS:
Cut up the apples and oranges as well as any other seasonal fruit to your liking.
Once you mix the liquids together, taste and adjust as needed. Add the cut fruit. Refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.
NOTES:
We have used the following before: sliced green grapes, strawberries, blackberries, nectarines, peaches, and cantaloupe. This is dangerously delicious and may have been responsible for adults roller skating after dark…
