Lane 13.

As the group of us walks back into Ten Pins, I’m greeted with the sight of my pack dad, Liam, standing behind the front desk. Liam is one of my mom Elaine’s alphas, he’s not my bio-dad, but he was the one I always gravitated towards growing up. He understood me the best.

I was too distracted yesterday to really take in the bowling alley again; it was my home away from home as a kid.

My feet sink into carpets, with that vintage neon look.

The twenty-one lanes are all a crisp bright oak, freshly oiled with bright lights lining each one.

The pits, where all the pins are standing tall at the end of the lanes, are painted with neon pinks, purples and teals on the wall above, lane numbers listed out in flashy neon yellow against smaller black accents.

“Well, well, well, I didn’t believe Bev when she said that my boys absconded with my best employee, but it seems she wasn’t lying.

” Liam says loudly over the music playing through the alley.

He meets me in the middle of the walkway and immediately puts his hands on either side of my face. “Son, we missed you around here.”

“I missed being here. Is anyone else here pops?” I ask him.

“It’s just me. Your dad went back to the house to help with your brother’s kids.

Elaine is on babysitting duty again.” He chuckles knowing how much my parents actually love that duty.

They keep asking when our pack is giving them some more to watch over, my brother's kids are almost at the age where they can watch themselves.

“Hi Liam,” Jac waves at my dad, “I think I might be needing some time off soon. If that’s okay?”

“It’s absolutely alright sweetie,” he says, reaching for her to wrap her in a big bear hug. “Take all the time you all need. Bev said something about a bonding ceremony. Why don’t you guys have it here?”

“That sounds like a great idea Liam!” Taylor says, slapping me on the shoulder knowing that I’m thinking the same thing.

This place has a lot of sentimental meaning to me, but to Taylor and Luke too.

It’s the place where the three of us met when we were just kids, it’s the place where we ran when we were having bad days, it’s where we talked about our designations and made the pact that we’d always be together.

It’s where we all shared our first kisses, with each other of course.

“I think we wanted to try and play a few games before we dive deep into some planning and what not. Got any lanes open?” I ask Liam, turning the attention away from my Omega.

The Alpha in me doesn’t like having anyone who isn’t us looking at her for too long, and we haven’t even cemented our bond fully.

“I think I have thirteen open. That’s the one you really want isn’t it?” Liam

waggles his eyebrows at me, teasing my superstitious ways. I give him a shove, and direct the pack towards my lane of choice while Anderson snags our shoes from Liam.

“I wonder if we can make this as interesting as our twenty Questions last night?” Taylor questions once we sit at the table nearest our lane. I give him a look, knowing we can’t make it as interesting as last night without getting a felony.
