Perfect
Calista
My reflection smiles back at me as I stare in the full-length mirror. I never thought I’d see my stomach this way, and I couldn’t be happier.
“You can barely see the scar,” Nolan says, hovering behind me. It’s been months since my sterilization, but I still have to check my body every day. It’s surreal. A part of me fears I’ll wake up to it being a dream.
“I hope it never fades completely. I love it.” I exhale a breath and spin in place to face Nolan.
He grazes his finger over one of the small scars on my lower abdomen.
I thought I’d feel different, but the sterilization only removed the part of me I didn’t care about.
No more going into heat. No more fertility.
Just all the freedom I could want to enjoy my alphas.
Even with a part of me removed, I’m still their omega. I’m still me.
“I love it…but especially you,” he murmurs, pulling me in closer for a kiss.
A knock sounds on the door, drawing our attention to Lucas and Jensen hovering outside.
“The bus is here. I thought we could do the honors together,” Lucas says, motioning for me to come to him.
Nolan remains close. “How many?”
“Twenty,” Jensen says. “There should be another ten arriving tonight.”
I bite my lip with a smile. “Thirty omegas chose us to protect and care for them?” I almost don’t believe it. This is real. It’s happening.
“There is actually twice as many but we have to build some accommodations.” Jensen kisses my cheeks.
I look at Lucas.
“I’m already on it,” he says, grasping my fingers.
The four of us head from my suite and make our way to the front of our grand estate. A white luxury bus idles in the roundabout drive, the figures of the omegas hard to see through the tinted windows.
I hesitate and shake away my nerves, sending my hair sweeping back-and-forth. “I hope they love it here. What if they don’t? What if—”
Nolan grasps my shoulders. “None of that now. They’ll love it. Everything will be perfect.”
“You’re right. We’ll ensure it,” I say. “Perfect like us and everything we’ve created.”
And it’ll never be any other way.
