Chapter Seven Sophie

Sitting at home waiting for that phone call about if they actually found my kids or not is nerve wracking.

When we finally got that call to head to the hospital I felt like my whole heart was going to fall out my ass.

Wondering if everything was okay. If my babies were hurt and that is why we have to get to the hospital.

I can’t wait to lay eyes on my sweet babies after not having them in my arms for four months.

All day I was scheduling appointments, just hoping I would not have to cancel.

I got all the kids scheduled for counseling because they all should probably be talking to someone after all of this happened.

Thankfully we have club members that have family as therapists.

I want to make sure they all feel safe about talking to someone and work through the trauma whether they were the ones taken or not, there has been trauma.

I then scheduled counseling for myself and couples counseling for Toby and I.

He is right in the aspect that I cannot live without him.

He’s been my everything for my entire life.

Hopefully someone can help me deal with everything that has happened and we can kind of move forward.

Then the kids counselors can help them with everything that has happened this year.

Finally after what feels like days of sitting here and just making phone calls and text messages Savage and Blade tell me they are going to drive me up to the hospital.

That everything went well retrieving the kids, they didn’t have a lot of men on the house so it was easy breezy for them, however, some of the other brothers did have gun fights taking out the other warehouses and safehouses.

However, minimal injuries happened and no one died at least from our club or the Untamed, thank goodness.

When we finally get to the hospital I run through the doors, I probably should be more careful being pregnant and all. When I see the brothers I run up to them, “Where are they?”

Dad looks at me with tears in his eyes, as much as I hate to see him cry, I can’t be the one to comfort him. He destroyed all the trust and faith I had in him with this whole mess.

“He’s got them up in triage right now to be looked over. I think if you go talk to the nurse at the desk she’ll take you back.”

Luca says as he comes up next to me. I finally look away from dad and head up to the reception and give my name and the names of the kids and sure enough they bring me back.

I can tell the moment we get closer to the room they are in because they have a couple brothers sitting outside.

I begin to walk as fast as my pregnant belly will let me walk and turn into the room and almost fall to the floor when there are my beautiful babies.

I sob escapes me as I look at both of them for the first time in four months and when they hear me both of their little heads shoot up.

“MAMA!” They both yell and they both try to get up, but a doctor and a nurse are looking both of them over.

I rush over in between their beds and I want to hold them both so I pick up Dallas despite the nurse telling me to hold on until the doctor can examine her.

Toby gives her a look that has her shutting up and I then turn Dallas and myself over and sit on the bed with Dash and bring him to me to snuggle as well.

They are both holding me and for the first time in four months I feel peace.

I look up and the doctor and the nurse have left the room and Toby comes over and gets behind me on the bed holding all four of us in his arms. He places a tender kiss on my temple and rubs Dallas’s back, while running his hand through Dash’s hair.

I look at Toby, “What did the doctor say? Are they okay?”

He looks down at me and smiles, “They did look them over when we got here and said that everything looks okay, from what we saw when we got there they just kept them locked in a room, but we wanted to be sure that everything was alright. They were finishing up when you walked in.

They just want to keep them here tonight, they drew some blood to make sure everything was good. They are under nourished, but everything else appears to be fine. They look like they were keeping them in ‘good condition’ for if we didn’t keep up our end of the deal.”

I nod my head and look down at my babies and they are sleeping with Dallas’s head on my chest and Dash has his head on my arm holding Dallas’s hand. “I was looking into children therapists through the club and got them scheduled as well as all the other kids.”

I feel him nod his head against mine, “Make sure you schedule yourself for something too, baby. Then we can do some couples counseling as well. We are going to be okay, I promise.”

“Did you get them all?”

“I don’t know baby, if I did I’d tell you. I went to the location the kids were at, once we took care of everyone there we headed here. I haven’t talked to anyone else.”

“Everyone is out in the waiting room.”

I feel him move and look over as he's pulling out his phone. He looks over at me and kisses my lips.

“I’m going to tell them to head home. That we will be home around noon tomorrow. My parents have the other kids so we will for sure see them tomorrow. Your dad will probably want to stay.”

I go to say something, but he interrupts me, “Baby, I know that you are having a hard time with him, but he’s your father and he is their papa. They clung to him when we got to them. Your dad is going to need this. He needs to know that something good is happening.

He is having a hard time and it is going to be worse now that they are back, he doesn’t have anything else to fight for right now.”

I nod my head and then lean down on the pillow on the bed and my babies snuggle into me.

“Sleep, baby. I will look over all of you.”

I am still so angry with everyone, but I know that what Toby said is right, I need to let dad have this for now.

Even though I am angry with him, I can’t bring myself to let anything bad happen to him.

He deserves to have this. I know that Toby is also right when he says I should talk to someone, I have been so angry and so depressed.

I have barely talked to any of my family.

I am trying hard to let go of my anger with Toby, but it is hard.

He should have been there to pick the kids up that day, he should’ve fired that stupid bitch who didn’t follow his schedule a long time ago.

I know it is a club decision, but still.

It is a horrible situation. I am so confused with everything going on in my head.

I feel like I never properly grieved, I feel like it has been me against my dark thoughts, me against the world.

Now I finally feel like I can breathe that my babies are home.

Tomorrow we will have everyone together under one roof and soon we will have our newest addition here.

With that thought, I close my eyes and fall into the darkness.
