I could have punched each and every one of those reporters this morning. They were unreal. Hounding Ashley as she walked in, then myself, then Tyson. They are fortunate that Tyson has schooled his anger since his fighting days.

Tyson might hate dealing with people but he did fucking great talking to that reporter. He shut her the fuck down immediately. After that moment, they all left.

I geared up to train with him. My fight was coming up in a couple of weeks and I was ready but with the added distraction of Adelaide, I was even more motivated to win.

This was my career win. I could retire like Tyson after this and I could see myself continuing to be with Adelaide and Tyson. In fucking peace.

“I can see that you are thinking.” Tyson commented as I stepped into the ring.

“What’s going on in that empty head of yours?

” He stepped up to me and the hair stood up on my neck.

Not here. We couldn’t do this here. There were cameras everywhere and if someone found the footage, we’d be ruined. Both of us.

“Just thinking about a girl.” I fanned my face. Trying to get the attention off of him and I.

“Jesus.” He rolled his eyes. “One day you're twenty six and the next your fifteen.”

I laughed. “You're no better. I’ve never seen you smile so big, big guy.” And I hadn’t. He was normally only really nice to me. But with Adelaide, he was just…different. The guy on facetime this morning wasn’t the guy that I had worked with for the past several years.

“C’mon, we need to train. Get your head out of the clouds.” Tyson stepped back. “We need to work on your footwork a bit more. You're fast, with your punches but not with your feet all the time.”

“Coming from the guy that basically plowed guys over to win.”

“Fast. Feet. Do you want to know how I won or not?” I valued his opinion so fucking much. He was the only reason I wasn’t sitting in jail right now.

“Bring it.” I raised my hands and he approached.

Sitting in my office that afternoon was stressful, I hadn’t heard from Adelaide all day when I normally would be texting her all day. Tyson made a comment about her ending things with him that morning and that she’d talk to me next. I wasn’t ready for that, actually I wouldn’t tolerate it.

Tyson was unbearable by the end of the day, even after burning off some energy training with me and a few of the other guys. Which he didn’t normally do. Normally he sat in his office or worked out on his own. We needed to fix this.
