ADELAIDE

I woke up drenched in sweat. Tyson was right behind me. Vance was chest to chest with me. I heard my phone go off a couple times which prompted me to try to get out of bed. Sliding off the end of the bed, I looked back and neither of them moved.

Grabbing my phone, I had ten alarming messages from Laurel. More articles about Vance, Tyson and I. This time the headlines were enough to shock me.

Tyson Mcnally's secret family.

Did Tyson disown his family and move on with a big time publisher?

Tyson’s son, a day in the life.

I dropped my phone and it skittered across the bathroom floor. I heard movement outside the door then Vance came in without knocking.

Vance held me at arm’s length. “Babe, you look like you have seen a ghost. Are you okay?”

“Tyson has a son?” I breathed out.

“…how do you know that?” Vance’s voice dropped. So he knew about this. Why did no one mention it? They thought they could hide an entire human being?

“The fucking reporters.” I ground out.

“What’s going on?” Tyson stood behind Vance, his hands pulled Vance into his chest. It would have been adorable except that I was shell shocked.

“She knows about Tj.” Vance said quietly. They exchanged a glance, then were both looking at me.

“What? How?” Tyson’s face dropped from a soft, lazy smile to irritation. Because of me. Because of my life. Again.

“I told you to tell me everything. And again, you didn’t.

” I snapped. “Now your secret family is at risk too. Was I just a vacation to you?” I know that this was irrational.

He had been honest with me, but I was mad.

I was fucking pissed actually. I tried to protect them and once again, they didn’t let me.

“Woah. Hold on.” Vance pulled away from Tyson and walked to me. “Before you say something you regret. Just listen.”

Tyson threw his hands up in the air. “No. It is loud and clear what she thinks. What’s the point in correcting her now.” Tyson stormed out, leaving Vance and I.

“You can go too. I’m sick of this. I tried to protect both of you and once again you fucked yourselves over.” I tried to get away from him but he held me tightly.

“No fucking way your getting out of it that easily.” Of course he wouldn’t just let this fly. I wiggled once more and he dropped his arms.

Once I managed to get away from Vance, I walked to the stairs and Tyson had his hand on the door handle and his head leaning on the door. “Ty, I’m sorry for what I said. I know you don’t have a secret family.”

“It’s fine.” I saw his hands flex. “I’m done going back and forth though.” He walked out. Within forty eight hours, we went from broken up, to loving each other to broken up again. This was like a bad soap opera and I fucking hated it.

“V-Vance.” My voice cracked. “What is going on?”

“Come here Addy.” I turned around and he had his arms out. I gladly walked into his embrace. Had I just ruined one of the best things that had ever happened to me?
