I was speechless, my eyes wandering up and down her beautiful body. She had on a black tank top, tight jeans that had to have been painted on, colored contacts like the first night we met and her hair pulled into a high ponytail. “Hey.” I managed to get out and Vance snorted a laugh.
“C’mon.” Vance put his arms out and Addy walked to him, wrapping her arms around his bare chest. I was so fucking jealous, but for a week I’d been parading around my family, what did I expect her to do. Throw me down and fuck me? I wanted that but didn’t expect it.
“Is this her?” Tj said quietly next to me.
“Yes. You're going to love her.” I kneeled next to him and took Addy’s hand. She smiled softly, then kneeled down by us. “Tj this is Addy, Addy this is Tj.”
“Hi Tj. Are you excited for tonight?” She said sweetly.
“Yes!” He jumped up and down next to me. “Uncle Van is going to kick ass.” Tj slammed his hand over his mouth. “Sorry dad.” He mumbled behind his hand.
“It’s okay. I’ll let it go this time because Vance is going to kick ass.” I looked at Vance, then back to Addy. “Can you and Uncle Vance go to get my phone from the office?”
“Sure.” Tj grabbed Vance’s hand and pulled him away. Vance glanced at me and smiled then continued to follow Tj.
Adelaide Byrnes stood in front of me, composed.
The woman that I’d seen in that club that played coy, the woman who continued to make me fall in love with her again and again with her strength and resilience.
Seemingly unaffected by what was said about her, selflessly looking out for everyone else and sacrificing her happiness.
I felt like I knew her and I knew what I said hurt her.
She apologized immediately, I didn’t and I was a dick for that. I know that too.
“They won’t be that long if you were going to talk to me.” She motioned to my phone in my pocket.
Of course I couldn’t come up with anything. “Addy, I’m sorry for the way I acted. I know that what I said was hurtful.”
“It wasn’t what you said, it was what you weren’t saying.
” She of course says something like that.
“You were basically saying that I didn’t deserve the truth and that hurt.
” I opened my mouth but she put her hand up.
“I will not be the reason that a family breaks up. If you are truly making it work with Becky and Tj, I won’t be the reason that a kid doesn’t get a family. I won’t be the other woman.”
Addy was too good for this world. “Believe me when I say, Becky is nothing but Tj’s mom. I have no feelings for her.” Except for hatred, but I didn’t want to say that if Tj was nearby.
She blinked and a stray tear rolled down her cheek. “Really? Do you mean that? I really want you to mean that.”
“I really mean that. With every fiber of my being Addy. I love you…” Before I could say anything else she wrapped her arms around my neck and buried her face in my neck and I melted.
God, I wanted this woman so badly and it hit me right now.
Holding her was all I wanted to do. I picked her up so that she could wrap her legs around my waist. “Please don’t give up on me.
I know I’m a pain in the ass but I am trying.
I’m trying so fucking hard Addy. I won’t let you down. ”
“I know you won’t.” She sighed and dropped her legs back down to the floor.
“Did you finally kiss and make up?” Vance said quietly from behind me.
“Actually, no.” Addy pulled my face down to hers and she kissed me, nipping at my lower lip and moaning softly. Well now I wanted to fuck her and we didn’t have the time.
“Okay, I don’t need to go out there with a fucking boner like an idiot.” Vance laughed. I also didn’t need to go out where there were a million cameras with a boner. Although that would distract from Becky being there.
“Dad!” Tj came around the corner with a soda. “Can I have this?”
“Yeah.” He sat down happily on the bench, sipping on his soda.
My watch went off, which meant that it was time. “Alright, Lemon, can you take Tj out with you. Vance gave him some money for concessions. Here’s some for you too.” I handed her a one hundred dollar bill and closed her hand around it. “Before you fight me, don’t.”
She laughed. “Thanks Ty.”
“Alright….I need a good luck kiss, then you need to get out of here.” Vance shoved me out of the way and I was hard all over again watching him kiss her and hearing her moan into his mouth.
Addy pulled away from Vance and turned to Tj. “Are you ready?”
“Yeah.” He stood up and reached for her hand. “Look what I got!” Tj held out the cash Vance gave him. She showed him the bill I gave her.
“We are going to clean them out of all the good snacks.” They walked out and I was all sorts of mixed up. Seeing the girl that I loved with my son made me want more. It made me want dinners with all of us, Addy, Vance, Tj and I. I just wanted…more.
