Chapter 24

Ansley pushed on his chest, and Link jerked back, his eyes narrowed.

“This okay?”

She nodded. “Want to head into the bedroom and get naked?”

"Oh yeah." He stood and pulled her up, then picked her up, carrying her away from the couch.

Ansley laughed as he carried her into his bedroom and dropped her on his bed. He leaned down and kissed her. She was incredibly sexy and really got him going. He needed to get her wet and ready. He knew enough not to just slide in without teasing her for a few minutes, making her wet.

He reached between her legs, sliding his fingers over her shorts before moving his hand under the waistband of her underwear. She arched up and moaned as his fingers ran over her pussy.

It didn’t take long to find her clit, and she pumped her hips, grinding against his fingers. Heat rolled off her. He gambled that she was going to come fast.

She wiggled out of her shirt and unsnapped her bra. Her breasts looked so good. They weren’t huge, but her nipples were very pink and hard.

He ran his hand up her side to the soft mounds. He teased the skin under her breasts, his gaze on hers, before he moved his hand over her breast, squeezing gently. Her moan raked over his nerves, taking him higher.

He lowered his head and ran his tongue around her nipple before sucking it into his mouth.

Ansley cried out as she reached down and grabbed his hand that was in her pants, holding it in place as she arched up.

He could feel the tension spring through her body before she gasped and came, pulsing against his fingers.

He gave her a moment before he pulled her shorts and underwear low and then tossed them to the floor.

She lay naked on his bed, and he thought he'd never seen anything as beautiful.

He stared down at her, taking in her creamy breasts, her flat stomach, and her trimmed pussy. He wanted to kiss her, to lick her body, and then slide in, but he also just wanted to sit here and stare at her beautiful body.

The orgasm exploded, taking Ansley's breath. She couldn't believe how good Link was with his fingers. She bet he was good with his tongue, too.

After she recovered, she looked up and met his gaze. He stood above her, staring at her naked body. When he licked his lips, heat slid through her.

She reached for him, glad that he moved to get on the bed, settling in with his knees between her legs. He reached over and grabbed a condom. At least they didn’t have to have that conversation. She didn’t want the momentum to slow.

Link rolled on the condom and then lowered. When his lips connected with hers, the kiss didn’t disappoint. It was all-consuming, leaving her head spinning as her heated flesh begged for his touch.

When he pushed against her entrance, she opened her legs wider, and he slid in. Her breath caught, and she gulped in air. His thick cock filled her as he sank in. She loved the feel of him taking her and she didn’t want this to end. She wrapped her legs around him, wanting to hold him close.

He slowly slid in deeper and then pulled out, the rhythm excruciatingly delicious. She gasped as he angled in, his body brushing against her sensitive clit.

Her eyes rolled up in the back of her head as his lips sucked down on her nipple. Having him inside her, his lips tugging at her nipples, was too much. She was going to come again.

The man was sex on a stick, and when she came for the second time, her brain blanked.

Had she passed out? She had no clue, but her whole body felt alive with fire and desire.

Being with this man felt marvelous, delicious, like the most exquisite and luxurious taste on her tongue, and feel on her skin.

“So close,” Link grunted.

"Yes." Ansley couldn't believe that he was going to get her to come again.

Ansley was a hot little number, her body writhing against his. Her hot pussy felt like she was massaging his dick. She had good core muscles that worked him hotter than he’d ever been.

“So close,” he said as his balls pulled up tight.

She came again, pushing him even closer. Her fingers dug into his back, and it was all he could do to suck in another breath. He came hard, his vision blanking as she squeezed around him.

He couldn't move, because it felt so good. She held on to him, and he never wanted to let her go. After a moment, he pulled out, and they both gasped.

Leaving her body made him crave her even more. He dropped the condom into the trash can and then pulled her onto him. Her head rested on his chest, her hand stroking over his side to his hip.

“That was amazing.”

She lifted up, her gaze finding his. “You are amazing.”

Happiness filled him. Sometimes connections happened in an instant, other times it took a while. The connection he felt with Ansley had been lightning fast, and he hoped it never died out. “I hope you like this enough to do it again.”

The smile she shot him almost took his breath away. “Yes. I want to do this again.”

He grunted, glad she had liked it. “I need to recover.”

“Of course.”

He sat up and stared down at her, happiness filling him. She reached for him and ran her fingers over his cheek, sending shivers down his back.

“So tonight, you’re going to sleep in here, right?”

She nodded, her smile even wider. “Oh yeah. That sounds good.”

He dropped back to the pillow beside her. “Thank you for coming out here to be with me.”

“It’s weird, I felt a connection to you. I’ve never done anything like that before.”

Her words made him pause. “You’ve dated people, though. You’ve had, you know, sex before, right?”

Ansley let go a ragged sigh, and he felt her stiffen. Something was up, and he wasn’t sure he liked the change in her expression or her body.

She had to tell him something, especially with that email from Pete. She shook her head, trying to clear it.

"How about we put on clothes, then I can tell you about it."

His expression went serious. “This doesn’t sound good.”

She grabbed her bra and put it on, then pulled on her shirt. This might just be the end of everything. She shouldn’t have slept with him without telling him everything. She’d had the best, and now it would be over. "I think a beer would be good now."

Link’s expression was weird, but she was acting cagey, so it made sense. She doubted he would understand, or maybe he would understand too well and tell her to leave, but she hoped not.

After dressing, they headed into the kitchen. She grabbed a beer and took a drink before sinking down on a kitchen chair.

She shook her head. “Where to start?”

“At the beginning,” he said.

She nodded, her stomach cramping. "The beginning. In high school, my boyfriend decided that while we were on a date, he wanted to climb the town's water tower. He lost his balance."

“Oh shit.”

"Yeah. At first, the police accused me of pushing him.

But I never climbed up with him. I told him he was an idiot for going up there.

Lucky for me, there was a security video.

Once the cops got that video, they let me go.

They didn't apologize or say sorry that I watched my boyfriend die. They just let me go after holding me and yelling at me for hours. They made me cry with their accusations. I felt bad about that incident for a long time though I tried to stop him, but he wouldn’t listen. "

“Damn. So you saw him fall and…”

She nodded. “Yeah. It sucked.”

Link reached over and grabbed her hand, squeezing it. “I’m sorry that happened to you. That’s awful.”

“It was terrible. But that’s not all.”

His eyebrows shot up. “There’s more?”

She nodded and took a sip of her beer. "The boyfriend that I was with right after high school drove his car into the side of a mountain.

The police heard my boyfriend in high school died, so they wanted to pin the crash on me.

They couldn't find any evidence that I tampered with the car because there wasn't any, but they decided to make my life hell, like stopping me any time they saw me driving.

It was too much pressure, so I joined the Marines to get out of town, thinking that would be best."

“Damn. That sucks that it happened again.”

She shrugged. "It doesn't stop there. When I moved to California, I was on-again, off-again dating a guy who was really a total dick.

I could tell we were about to off again and just wanted it to be over.

We argued. It was in public, at the beach, and the argument wasn't awful.

Stuff like me shouting just leave me alone and stop contacting me.

He kept trying to get me to go back to his place, and I refused.

He decided to go out on the pier, and I didn't follow.

Maybe he thought I would go out there with him if he did something crazy.

He said he would kill himself if I didn't keep dating him, but I was done and told him to leave me alone.

That's when he went out on the pier and hopped up on the railing.

He was walking, doing stupid stuff, and I watched for a moment before I turned to leave.

Then I heard the screams. I spun around, looking for him, but didn't see him.

I was done with the drama and headed back to my apartment.

I later found out that when he was up on the railing, he fell.

The string of his hoodie got caught between two pieces of wood, and the knot at the end held. The hoodie choked him."

“Oh fuck. That’s awful.”

“Yeah. I heard it all, but at the time I didn’t know what it was.”

He pulled her into his arms. “I’m sorry all of this happened.”

She shrugged. “You shouldn’t be with me.”

“Why?”

“I’m obviously bad luck or maybe cursed. If you believe Pete, Craig’s brother, I did it all and am a black widow type character.”

“Hey, I’m a big boy and can take care of myself.”

She shook her head. “But what if—”

“No what ifs. I’m not leaving because bad things happened around you. You didn’t kill anyone.”

She sat back and shook her head almost violently. “The cops wanted to pin their deaths on me, but luckily there were videos of two of their deaths. It doesn’t stop Pete from blaming me. He is obsessed with proving I caused Craig’s death.”

Link cupped her cheek. “That’s awful.”

“Yeah. Pete came by my place before I left California and threatened me.”

Link sobered and held her gaze. “Did you call the cops?”

She shook her head. “No. He has no idea where I am. He sent an email.”

His lips turned down in a frown. “He sent an email. Was it recently?”

She nodded. “But he doesn’t know where I am. He can’t get to me.”

He held her hands, his expression serious. "That doesn't matter. What matters is that we keep up with where he is and we keep you safe. We don't wait until he shows up. We watch him and keep track."

She wasn’t sure what to think about this reaction. Pete was more like an annoying gnat than a real issue. “Do you really think it’s that serious?”

“Babe, he came to the place you lived and threatened you. It’s that serious.”

She nodded slowly as she thought about his statement. She didn't like his answer because she didn't want it to be that serious. If she had her way, Pete would just disappear, and she would never have to deal with him again.

Maybe Link was right, and they needed to keep an eye on him. She was schooled in the art of self-defense, but if she didn't keep up with his whereabouts, she wouldn't be able to defend herself.

One thing that gave her hope was Link believed her and wasn’t pushing her away. She’d been ready for him to tell her to get out and that he never wanted to see her again. But that didn’t happen. Maybe she could have a relationship with Link that wouldn’t be ruined by bad things from her past.
