Chapter 25
Link hated the information Ansley had given him. He tried not to overreact, but someone threatening her was too much.
At work, he could remain calm, but with her sitting here telling him all the things that had happened to her that never should have been was hard. He didn't want to upset her even more, so he tempered his reaction. After she fell asleep, he got out of bed and headed into the den with his laptop.
With the guy's name and information, he searched for anything that would give him details about the bastard.
It only took an hour for Link to find a social media account for the jerk that wasn’t under his real name.
He was posting shit about Ansley, but not naming her.
If you knew Ansley, it was easy to figure out who this guy was talking about.
The whole persona of the account was trying to get people on his side to say the woman he described was a killer.
To the casual observer, the fake identity seemed real, but it was easy to find out the truth behind the person posting. No question, it was Pete.
For now, he would keep this to himself, but eventually he would need to inform Ansley about the fake account.
Before going back to bed, he sent an email to his buddies explaining the situation, including the inflammatory social media account.
Having multiple eyes on the information would help him figure out Pete's next move.
With the vitriol splashed on the page, Link had little doubt that this Pete guy would strike soon. Spilling the hate on social media would only encourage his rage. Soon, this Pete guy would attack. He would come after Ansley, and Link wanted to be prepared for that eventuality.
Ansley woke early in the morning, Link’s body warming her. She studied his profile, thinking she was very lucky to find a man like him.
It wasn't just his looks. Link was a good person. She could see his goodness based on the way he talked about life. Maybe she was jumping the gun, but being with him after he saved her from her captors had been intense. She'd seen something in the man that was good.
Link blinked open his eyes, a slow smile curving up his lips. Then he stretched, and it was all she could do to not climb on top of him.
She would have, but she hadn’t brushed her teeth or gone to the bathroom. Sex in the morning was a great idea, but reality was a bummer.
“Hey, beautiful.”
Laughter spilled from her lips. "Hey, you. I need to brush my teeth."
"Same." Link rolled out of bed and pulled her up. "I'll use this bathroom, you do the other one, and then I want to kiss you so deeply you remember it a week from now."
A shiver snaked through her, and she nodded. "Okay. I think that's a great idea."
“Good.”
She headed into the bathroom, feeling like she was above the clouds. All the dreck of the last few months seemed to disappear. None of that mattered. The most important thing was being with Link and making a new life.
After she finished in the bathroom, she met Link in the kitchen, where the delicious scent of coffee filled the air.
“Mmm, smells great.”
Link turned and held out his hand. She took it, and he pulled her close, pausing for a second before his lips brushed against hers. The magnetic pull of his body had her plastered against him, allowing her to feel the hard planes of his muscles and the hard ridge of his cock.
She reached between them, her fingers sliding down his belly to his cock. Link’s moan made her feel incredibly hot.
He picked her up and sat her on the counter, his fingers finding her center. She arched against him, needing more contact. She ached to feel his cock buried deep inside her.
His thumb and fingers stroked her, driving her crazy as he brushed over her clit, taking her higher. He reached under her shirt with his other hand and tugged at one nipple, then the other.
“More,” Ansley begged.
“I’ll give you more after you come for me. I need to feel you pulsing against my touch.”
The coffee maker beeped, but they both ignored it. The heat of his body was intoxicating, driving her closer to the edge of sanity.
She dropped her head back and her eyes rolled closed as pleasure rippled through her. One more brush of his fingers was all it took. She clung to him like a life preserver, keeping her afloat as desire crashed inside her body.
"That's it," Link said just before he picked her up and placed her feet on the floor, then spun her around. He tugged down her shorts and underwear. She glanced over her shoulder, seeing him roll on a condom.
“Yes.” Ansley’s voice was husky, filled with the intensity of lust rolling through her.
He gripped her hips and held them steady as he slid in. Her breath caught as he filled her.
Link’s hands slid up her torso and under her shirt before he cupped her breasts. His fingers ran over her nipples, taking her higher.
This man knew how to pleasure her, how to take her higher, make her feel every thrust and roll of his hips. He had her aching for more. She could get used to being with Link. He was strong, sensitive, and perfect for her.
Desire coiled tight in her belly, and she knew she was going to come again. Just the idea of coming again took her over the edge.
Ansley gasped as Link held her up, supporting her weight as her body shook from the strong waves of pleasure rolling through her.
The only thing that would make this better would be having sex without a condom. It was more than her body. It was the way she looked at him, how she touched him, the truths she trusted him with.
That trust had been evident from the moment her eyes first connected with his. It was like their souls had known each other from the get-go.
His balls pulled up tight when she came with him inside her. The squeezing of her pussy was enough to take him over the edge.
Link clung to her, his body’s reaction overriding his mind. He couldn’t think or come up with words. The only thing he could do was fill the condom with cum and wait for the orgasm to end, though he didn’t really want it to stop.
“Ansley,” he whispered after he could speak.
She moved, and his cock slid out, making him wish he could stay connected to her forever. His lips found hers in a dreamy kiss.
When they parted, her eyes were half hooded, and she looked half-drunk. He smiled as he removed the condom, using a napkin to clean up before pulling up his shorts.
“That was delightful,” Ansley said.
Her words brought joy to him. “I’m glad you found it delightful.”
“I did. I think doing that again would be nice.”
“Very nice. I’m glad I took time off work because it would be terrible to have to go into work and leave you in bed alone.”
She lifted up and kissed his jaw. “It would suck. I know reality will eventually make an appearance, but it is nice to have this fantasy type of living.”
"Fantasy type of living. I like that." He grabbed two mugs and poured coffee. She added cream to hers and some sugar. After taking a sip, he opened the refrigerator, glad he still had eggs. At least he'd been smart enough to pick up some extra food before she arrived.
“Want me to cook breakfast?”
Link shook his head. “You can help, but you’re not making it alone. How about a breakfast sandwich? I have toaster muffins and cheese.”
“Sounds good. I’ll get the bread toasting.”
“Cool. I’ll fry up eggs.”
Seamlessly, they worked together in the kitchen to prepare breakfast. It was almost like they'd done this before. Once the eggs were cooked, they sat at the table, and he pulled up his maps application.
After taking a bite, he spoke. "Are you okay heading to the condo today?"
She nodded. “Sure. That would be great.”
“Awesome. The community does have a hot tub and pool, though it might not be warm enough to do the pool.”
“I’m game for anything.”
Laughter spilled from Link’s lips. “I’ll remember that later.”
She smiled and shook her head. “You’re funny.”
“Good. I’m glad you think I’m funny.”
They ate as they discussed what to bring with them. While she was getting ready, he checked his emails, seeing a few from his buddies, asking for more information about Pete. He wrote back, telling them he didn't have much more info.
Mick said he would dig in later in the day. Link was glad he had so many friends who were all good at different things. He knew he could lean on his buddies to help him gather information.
The way to keep Ansley safe was to know what was coming. If that jerk came for Ansley, Link would make sure he regretted it for the rest of his natural life.
