2-Because you are my wife.

Outside the college gate, Samrat's car came to a halt. He stepped out, first closing his own door, then walked around to the other side and opened the door for Vaidehi. She slowly stepped out.

It was the first time after marriage that her husband had come to drop her at college. She could hardly believe it-this was the same Samrat who never even looked at her properly before, who barely spoke to her... and today, he had come himself to drop her.

It was all so surprising for her. She kept blinking, trying to convince herself that this was real and not just a dream.

Meanwhile, Samrat glanced at his expensive Rolex watch and said coldly,

"It's too late... go to your class."

Saying this, he started to walk ahead.

Vaidehi quickly adjusted her bag and ran after him, stopping right in front of him.

"Listen... listen... please listen..."

After calling out to him three times, she bent slightly, placing her hands on her knees, trying to catch her breath as she looked at him.

Samrat was quite tall, and his strides were long. His two steps were almost equal to four of Vaidehi's.

Seeing her panting like this, Samrat raised an eyebrow slightly and asked in a cold tone,

"What happened?"

There was no particular emotion in his voice.

Vaidehi, still catching her breath, said,

"I... I'm just a little surprised. It's the first time after our marriage that you came to drop me at college... so I was a bit shocked."

Then, hesitating a little, she continued,

"And... what you said last night..."

She blushed slightly,

"I'm sorry... I refused you. Everything happened so suddenly, and I got a little scared. You suddenly came so close... started claiming your rights over me... all of this was new for me."

With a faint smile, she added,

"But... next time, I won't refuse you."

Hearing her words, Samrat rubbed his forehead with his fingers and thought to himself,

"Back to her real self... stupid girl."

The same cold and indifferent expression returned to his face.

Seeing that distant and emotionless look on his face, Vaidehi felt a little hurt. She softly said,

"Maybe you're doing all this because I, being your wife, was going to another man... it might affect your reputation. I understand... after all, you don't love me. You don't even want to be with me... it's okay."

She continued without stopping,

"I'll manage everything... I won't put any pressure on you. You won't face any trouble because of me. And from next time, I won't go near any man..."

She kept talking non-stop.

Hearing her continuous chatter, Samrat suddenly placed his hand over her lips and said in an annoyed, cold tone,

"Shut up... once you start talking, you just don't stop."

Glancing at his watch, he added,

"I'm getting late... because of you, my work will be affected."

Hearing his words, Vaidehi grew a little nervous and said softly,

"But... I need to talk to you..."

But Samrat completely ignored her and walked away.

Watching him leave, Vaidehi couldn't help but think that maybe Samrat didn't like her at all... that he couldn't tolerate her even for a minute.

She thought to herself,

"Really... what a helpless man. His own family made such a huge decision about his life in the name of friendship... as if his feelings don't matter at all."

Vaidehi started to feel bad for him.

"Maybe... he loves someone else..."

Even though she herself didn't love anyone, she could still understand Samrat's feelings.

Lost in these thoughts, she began walking toward her classroom when suddenly a girl came running from behind and hugged her tightly.

"Vaidehi! You're so late... we already missed the first class!"

Vaidehi got startled hearing that.

"Gayatri... you're here at this time?"

Fixing her messy, noodle-like hair, Gayatri said,

"I got late because of you! I was waiting for you... what would I even do alone without you?"

Hearing this, Vaidehi smiled lightly and said,

"Nothing... actually, my husband came to drop me... and that too for the first time."

Hearing this, Gayatri was shocked,

"Seriously? But how? You have to tell me everything in detail!"

Vaidehi blushed slightly and said,

"Come on... let's go to the canteen. We'll talk properly there."

Then both friends headed to the canteen. Vaidehi ordered a lot of food, and the two of them went and sat down at a table.

Seeing all this, Gayatri looked shocked and said,

"Since when did you get so much money? You ordered all this! You do know my dad took away all my credit cards... I broke his favorite statue. I can't pay... and you don't usually have money either!"

Hearing this, Vaidehi flipped her hair a little with attitude and said,

"Now I have two people-my mother-in-law and father-in-law... both gave me cards. And not just any cards... black ones!"

Making a slight face, she added,

"I don't know how they found out that my husband doesn't give me money. That day, they even scolded him properly... and then he took out all his anger on me. But anyway... I got the money, and that's what matters!"

Saying this, Vaidehi showed her black royal card.

Gayatri almost went crazy with excitement seeing it,

"Oh my God! Even my dad hasn't given me this! Seriously, you're so lucky... you got such amazing in-laws!"

Hearing this, Vaidehi let out a deep sigh,

"Are you crazy? My father-in-law is okay... but my mother-in-law is a complete Hitler! Even my father-in-law is scared of her."

Shaking her head slightly, she said,

"Honestly, I don't even understand how I've been living in that house for the past three months. But... they're not bad at heart. They care about me, set boundaries for my own good... and love me secretly too."

Then her voice turned a little softer,

"I just wish... I had my husband's love too. But now it doesn't seem like I ever will. Maybe he loves someone else... I don't know who."

Hearing this, Gayatri leaned closer and asked in surprise,

"You mean in all these months... nothing has happened between you two? You know... what happens between a husband and wife?"

Hearing that, Vaidehi-who was drinking juice-choked slightly.

She suddenly remembered everything from last night... Samrat coming close, his demand... everything.

Seeing her reaction, Gayatri smirked playfully,

"Oho... now I get it! Something did happen. Come on, tell me... I'm your secret diary."

Blushing a little, Vaidehi said,

"Yesterday... when I was talking to Ayush in the canteen... my husband saw everything. And after that, the kind of scene he created..."

She covered her lips with her hand while saying this.

Gayatri immediately grinned and said,

"So he kissed you... and then you both had some romance at night, right?"

Vaidehi quickly blurted out,

"Yes... there was a kiss-"

Then suddenly stopped herself and stepped back,

"N-no! It's not what you're thinking. There was a kiss... but nothing happened after that... and maybe it never will."

Hearing this, Gayatri said in disbelief,

"Why wouldn't it happen? He's your husband... sooner or later he'll demand it. It's normal, yaar."

Vaidehi sighed deeply and said,

"No... I think he loves someone else. He just doesn't say it because of his reputation. Maybe that girl is very poor... maybe not even that beautiful. And he had to marry someone according to his status... so he married me."

Hearing this, Gayatri said a little sadly,

"Then that love story will remain incomplete..."

Suddenly, a different expression appeared on Vaidehi's face,

"But... we can do one thing!"

Gayatri looked at her in surprise.

Vaidehi said excitedly,

"So what if he's not telling us... we'll help him! This way we'll earn some good karma too. We've already committed so many sins... we've caused so many incidents..."

She said a little guiltily,

"Just two days ago, that uncle broke his leg because of us... who knows how many people we've hurt. We didn't do it intentionally, but still... we did it."

Then, with a soft smile, she added,

"Now it's time to do something good. As a wife, I'll help my husband unite with his true love... isn't that such a good deed?"

Hearing this, Gayatri said angrily,

"I'm getting irritated just listening to you! You're such an idiot... you don't need to do anything like this."

Vaidehi hugged her and said gently,

"I do... you just don't understand. I can't see him in pain like this. I... kind of like him a little. Not completely, but... a little."

She continued softly,

"And I've made a decision... from now on, I won't talk to any boy, no matter who it is. That way, his reputation won't be affected... and he won't feel any pressure to come close to me."

They were still talking when suddenly a man came and said,

"Ma'am, sir is calling you."

Hearing this, Vaidehi got surprised. She checked the time-it was 3 PM.

Since morning, the two of them had only been talking and eating non-stop. Now both of them were feeling a bit nauseous. Their stomachs felt bloated from overeating... and Gayatri was in the same condition.

Looking at them, Samrat's personal assistant said,

"Ma'am, you don't look well... should I call a doctor?"

Vaidehi immediately replied,

"No-no, assistant uncle... I'm perfectly fine."

Hearing the word 'uncle', his face fell slightly. He was only 26... and being called uncle by a 22-year-old girl did sting a little.

Meanwhile, Gayatri also looked at Vyom Shukla and said with a smile,

"It's okay, uncle... we're absolutely fine."

Saying this, both friends looked at each other and burst into laughter before running away.

For Vyom, hearing 'uncle' from his lady boss was still manageable... but hearing it from Gayatri hit differently.

But then...

Both of them suddenly stopped.

Standing right in front of them was Samrat-staring at them with his cold, sharp gaze.

Seeing him, the color drained from their faces.

Gayatri slowly started slipping away to the side. After all, he was her professor too... and everyone knew about his temper.

She was scared that in anger, he might give her some strict punishment...

Meanwhile, Samrat's eyes were now fixed directly on Vaidehi... as if he was about to say something.

So Gayatri quickly left from there.

Samrat then said in a calm voice,

"Come to the car."

Vaidehi nodded and, placing a hand on her stomach, slowly followed him.

As they got into the car, Samrat looked at her and asked,

"You okay?"

Vaidehi gave a slight smile and said,

"Yes... I'm absolutely fine."

Without saying anything, Samrat starts the car and begins driving at high speed.

After a while, they reach home.

As soon as they arrive, Vaidehi's eyes fall on her parents standing in front of her. Seeing them, she squeals in happiness and runs straight into her father's arms.

The people around also notice this, as there are several guests present in the house.

Rukmini Devi is watching all of this... and she clearly doesn't like it. To her, it feels somewhat insulting.

In a strict voice, she calls out,

"Vaidehi!"

Hearing her voice, Vaidehi gets a little nervous and immediately steps back. The atmosphere suddenly turns awkward.

Samrat is watching everything as well... even he finds the situation a bit uncomfortable.

Just then, Raghav Pratap Singh steps in to ease the tension and says,

"Oh, let it be... she's just a child. She got married at a young age, she must have gotten emotional seeing her parents."

His words help normalize the situation a little.

Vaidehi is about to say something to her parents when Rukmini Devi interrupts again,

"Vaidehi, go freshen up first... you've just come from college."

Hearing this, Vaidehi understands that her mother-in-law didn't like her standing there like that.

Without saying anything, she quietly walks toward her room.

On the other side, Samrat is already in the room.

Seeing Vaidehi rushing in, he walks up to her, stops her, and says,

"What was that downstairs? You're not a kid."

Hearing this, Vaidehi immediately places her hands on her waist and replies with attitude,

"So what? It's my life, my choice! And they were my parents."

Then, a little irritated, she adds,

"You're jealous, aren't you? Because maybe your father never held you in his arms... but my dad loves me a lot."

She continues,

"No need to be jealous... jealous man! So what if you're a professor?"

Hearing her childish remarks, Samrat clenches his teeth slightly and says,

"Stupid... duffer."

Then, in irritation, he asks,

"And what was the need to stick so close to that Gayatri in college?"

Vaidehi looks confused and says,

"But you had a problem with boys... she's a girl!"

Samrat grabs her hand and pulls her closer, his voice cold but firm,

"I don't care... whether it's a girl or a boy. You'll stay away from everyone... because you are my wife."

Holding her by the waist, he adds,

"You are mine... understood?"

But then-

Vaidehi, who had already overeaten earlier, suddenly couldn't handle the pressure... and ended up throwing up directly on Samrat.

What will happen next?

How will Samrat react when he finds out what his wife is planning for him?

Will Samrat and Vaidehi's relationship ever become normal?

And will Vaidehi be able to adjust to this suffocating life?
