3-Im not pregnant

In that luxurious room, it felt as if time had stopped.

Samrat, who was always extremely strict about cleanliness and perfection, stood there completely shocked. There were stains of Vaidehi's vomit on his expensive shirt, but his attention wasn't on the mess-it was on Vaidehi's pale, drained face.

Outside, there was movement in the corridor.

Because of the big puja scheduled for the next day, many of Raghav Pratap Singh's close friends and relatives had already arrived with their families.

One of the women, the wife of Mr. Raghav's business partner, was passing by the open door of the room.

As soon as she saw the scene inside-Vaidehi bent over in a distressed state while Samrat was holding her-she shouted loudly.

"Oh my God! Rukmini ji... Raghav bhai sahab! Please come ?????! It's good news!"

Her voice echoed across the entire floor.

Within moments, all the guests from the drawing room, along with Raghav Pratap Singh, Rukmini Devi, and Vaidehi's parents-Hemlata Devi and Avinash ji-rushed into the room.

"What happened? Why are you shouting?" Rukmini Devi asked sternly.

The woman smiled and pointed toward Vaidehi, who was still vomiting. "Just look! The daughter-in-law is throwing up. It may not be morning sickness timing, but the signs are the same! Looks like the Pratap family is getting an heir... Vaidehi is pregnant!"

For a moment, the room fell silent... and the very next second, everyone started congratulating.

"It's been three months since the wedding, good news was expected!" an elderly woman said happily.

"Look how pale she is... this is normal during pregnancy."

Hemlata Devi immediately sat beside her daughter and gently stroked her head. "My child... are you okay? Did you call the doctor?"

A faint smile appeared on Raghav Pratap Singh's face as he took out his phone. "Yes, I'm calling Dr. D'Souza right now. He'll be here in 15 minutes."

Rukmini Devi remained silent. There was more shock than happiness on her face, but in front of everyone, she maintained a slight smile.

Meanwhile, Samrat stood there like a statue. He tried to clean his shirt with a tissue, but the women's words echoed in his ears like poison.

His fingers trembled slightly.

Slowly, he raised his head... a dangerous coldness had settled in his eyes.

"Pregnant...?" he said in a very low but heavy voice.

Then he looked at Vaidehi-his gaze was no longer soft, but sharp and almost frightening.

"Vaidehi..." his voice dropped even lower,

"what is this...? Are you... pregnant...?"

His mind had gone completely numb. He clearly remembered-over the past three months, he hadn't even touched Vaidehi. Even last night, he had gone close to her, but nothing had happened. Then how was this even possible?

Had Vaidehi cheated on him? Was the "friend" she was laughing with someone more than just a friend?

As people kept talking, Samrat's anger reached its peak. His eyes had turned red like blood. It felt as if someone had thrown mud on his existence, his masculinity, and his name-Samrat Pratap Singh.

He took a deep, cold breath... and then spoke in a voice more dangerous than a roar-because it was completely calm.

"Everyone... OUT."

A sudden silence filled the room.

"Samrat beta, we were just-" one of the relatives tried to say.

"I said... GET. OUT."

This time, Samrat didn't even move, but the echo of his voice shook everyone to their core.

"I can handle my wife. Until the doctor arrives, I don't want any crowd here. Just leave."

Hearing his cold and deadly tone, everyone was terrified. Rukmini Devi immediately decided it was best to take everyone outside. Hemlata Devi wanted to stay, but Vaidehi, with tear-filled eyes, signaled her to leave. She knew how dangerous this side of Samrat was.

As soon as the door closed, the atmosphere in the room froze completely.

Vaidehi sat on the bed, trembling. Her stomach was still uneasy from overeating... but now, she was more afraid of the man standing in front of her than her own condition.

Samrat slowly walked toward her. The sound of his footsteps... seemed to sync with the racing beats of Vaidehi's heart.

Suddenly, he lunged forward, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her up forcefully.

"Ah... leave me... it hurts..." Vaidehi cried out softly.

"Pain?" Samrat moved dangerously close to her. His warm breath brushed against her face.

"You don't know what pain is... I'll show you."

His grip tightened even more.

"Answer me... are you pregnant?"

Vaidehi's eyes widened in shock.

"W-what are you saying...?"

"The question is simple!" Samrat's voice turned even colder.

"Whose child is this? That 'friend' you spend time with in college...?"

He leaned in closer, his eyes piercing straight into Vaidehi's-

"Or is there someone else... someone you meet secretly... risking the respect of this house?"

The ground seemed to slip beneath Vaidehi's feet.

She couldn't believe it... that her own husband could accuse her of something so disgusting.

"No! You're misunderstanding... I'm not pregnant! I just ate too much..."

"Don't lie!" Samrat shouted.

"You think I'm a fool? The whole world is saying you're going to be a mother... and you're saying you just overate? Seriously?"

He moved even closer, the dangerous anger in his eyes clearly visible-

"Cheating on me? You took advantage of my silence?"

Tears streamed down Vaidehi's cheeks.

"Samrat... please listen to me... I have never betrayed you... I don't love anyone else... I am only your wife..."

Her voice trembled-

"Why don't you trust me? Let the doctor come... everything will be clear... why are you creating unnecessary drama?"

At that moment, Samrat's obsession had completely taken over his mind. He could only hear the voices of the people outside. For him, "betrayal" was worse than death.

"Trust?" he let out a faint, bitter laugh.

"But I never thought... you'd stoop this low."

"It hurts... please let go..." Vaidehi cried in pain.

For a moment, Samrat's heart softened slightly... seeing her innocent eyes... but his ego and anger were far stronger.

He couldn't even bear the thought that his Vaidehi could be with someone else-the girl he had waited for, for fifteen long years.

Suddenly, he pushed her back forcefully.

Vaidehi stumbled and fell against the edge of the bed.

Samrat was losing control over himself. He turned and walked toward the balcony with heavy, furious steps.

He gripped the railing so tightly that the veins in his hands stood out.A single tear slipped from his eye and rolled down his cheek.

..

His breaths were heavy... like a wounded animal fighting its own pain.

There was no expression left on his face now...

only his eyes-red like blood.

He felt disgusted with himself-

was he more angry that Vaidehi had betrayed him... or that even after knowing the truth, he couldn't bring himself to truly hurt her?

The room echoed only with Vaidehi's muffled sobs.

She was gently holding her wrist... where the blue marks from Samrat's grip were clearly visible.

Just then, there was a loud knock on the door.

"Samrat beta, Doctor D'Souza has arrived..." Raghav Pratap Singh's voice came from outside.

Samrat quickly wiped his face, adjusted his shirt buttons... and cast a cold, lifeless glance at Vaidehi.

That look carried a clear warning-

"If the report says anything wrong... tonight will be your last night."

He went and opened the door.

The doctor walked in... with a nurse following behind.

Vaidehi looked at the doctor with trembling eyes.

She knew... she was innocent...

But Samrat's suspicion had already broken that part of her heart...

which perhaps still wanted to give this relationship a chance.

As soon as Doctor D'Souza removed his stethoscope and checked Vaidehi's pulse... the room was so silent that even someone's breathing could be heard.

Samrat stood in a corner... his fists still tightly clenched... his gaze fixed on the floor.

"Everyone relax," the doctor said with a slight smile, and the heavy atmosphere in the room eased a little.

"There's nothing to worry about... and there's no good news either."

Everyone looked at him at once.

"Mrs. Pratap Singh has simply overeaten and had some improper food. The vomiting is due to gastric reflux and overeating. That's it."

Hearing this, a mix of relief and slight disappointment appeared on Rukmini Devi's face.

Raghav Pratap Singh let out a long breath-

"Thank God.

.. I thought something serious had happened.

"The doctor wrote on his prescription pad and said,

"I've prescribed some medicines.

.. these are antacids and for digestion. "

Then, with a slight smile, he looked at Vaidehi-

"And next time... don't try to finish the entire canteen menu by yourself."

As soon as the doctor placed the medicines in front of Vaidehi... she made a face. She had always hated taking medicines.

Rukmini Devi, who had been strict until now... suddenly softened.

She stepped forward and placed her hand on Vaidehi's head-

"Silly girl... you scared everyone. There's a big family puja tomorrow... and look at your condition today?"

She said gently-

"Now just rest."

Hemlata Devi and Avinash ji also came and sat beside her.

The whole family was now around Vaidehi... she was receiving the care and attention she truly deserved.

But...

Her eyes kept drifting toward that corner of the room-

Where Samrat was still standing silently...

as if nothing had happened...

Or maybe... as if something inside him had completely shattered.

There was no anger left in his eyes now...

only a dangerous silence-

"I was wrong..."

Or perhaps...

"This isn't over yet."

It was 11 at night. All the guests in the house had gone to sleep.

Vaidehi was sitting on her bed, looking out the window. Her face was red with anger. She had clearly refused to have dinner. The family thought she was just being fussy because of her health...

but something else was going on in her mind.

"How could he say something like that!" she thought to herself.

"He questioned my character? Seriously? Does he really think I'm like that?"

She grew even more irritated-

"On top of that, they didn't even make my favorite biryani... instead, mother-in-law sent that boring boiled khichdi!"

In anger, she kicked the small tea table in front of her-

"Everyone is useless! Especially that arrogant professor!"

Just then, the door opened.

Samrat walked in. He had a plate of food in his hands.

The moment Vaidehi saw him... all her lion-like anger vanished instantly.

She straightened up at once... her heart started beating fast.

Samrat came closer without saying a word. He fixed the table and placed the plate on it.

Then he sat down in front of her.

There was no madness in his eyes like in the afternoon...

just a strange silence.

"Eat."

His voice was low, heavy... and controlled."I don't want to eat! You can leave..." Vaidehi said, gathering courage...

but her voice trembled slightly.

Samrat took a deep breath... and lowered his head a little.

"Vaidehi..."

his voice became even softer-

"I'm sorry."

"I shouldn't have said all that... I crossed the line."

Vaidehi's eyes widened in shock.

Samrat Pratap Singh... is saying sorry?

"At that moment, I couldn't understand anything..." Samrat said quietly. There was a strange pain in his voice.

"I just... lost it. I couldn't think straight..."

He paused for a moment...

"I was imagining you with someone else... and that just-"

He stopped, leaving his sentence incomplete.

A storm of words was raging inside him-

Vaidehi... you have no idea... for 15 years... I've loved you for 15 years... you are everything to me... I can't lose you... not to anyone...

But none of it reached his lips.

Vaidehi said angrily-

"Just saying sorry doesn't fix everything!"

There were tears in her eyes... but her voice was strong-

"Don't I have any self-respect? You can shout at me, scold me... but question my character?"

She snapped even more-

"I may be annoying... I may trouble you... but I am NOT characterless!"

Suddenly, Samrat stepped forward and grabbed her hand.

His touch was so intense... it sent a shiver through her entire body.

"I told you... I'm sorry," he said, looking straight into her eyes.

This time, there was no ego in his voice... only sincerity.

Vaidehi tried to pull her hand away with attitude-

"Fine... I forgive you! But if you ever say something like that again... I'll send you straight to jail! My father has connections with the police!"

A rare smile appeared on Samrat's lips-

"Really?"

He leaned in slightly-

"And do you know how far your husband's reach goes?"

He smiled faintly-

"Up to the Home Minister."

Vaidehi felt a bit awkward and looked away shyly-

"So... now you believe that I'm not pregnant, right?"

That one question... changed the atmosphere again.

Samrat's smile slowly faded.

That same deep, dangerous intensity returned to his eyes.

He slowly leaned closer...

lightly holding a strand of her hair between his fingers.

"So..." his voice was low... almost a whisper-

"now there's no doubt..."

He paused, looking into her eyes-

"Good."

Vaidehi's breathing quickened.

Her heart was racing.

She started stepping back-

"S-Samrat... what are you-"

Samrat smirked slightly... his gaze fixed on her-

"Relax..." he said softly...

"I'm not going to hurt you. So if you want... I can make you pregnant."
