15-broken Samrat

Samrat’s face flushed with anger. He wanted to grab her right there and teach her a lesson for all her mischief… but at this moment, he couldn’t do anything.

Vaidehi let out a soft laugh and, swaying slightly, walked out with her mother-in-law.

Samrat was left standing alone in the hall.

The sound of the car driving away slowly faded into the distance… but in his mind, Vaidehi’s middle finger and that mischievous smile kept replaying again and again.

He picked up the glass from the table and hurled it against the wall in anger.

It shattered into pieces.

In a low voice, he muttered to himself,

“Showing me the middle finger… seriously?”

Now there was not just anger in his voice, but a cold silence too.

“I won’t let this go, Vaidehi… not this time.”

He started pacing around the room.

“What did you think… hiding behind Mom would save you?” he said to himself.

A faint but dangerous smile appeared on his lips.

“What you did today… you’ll pay for every single thing.

That dress… talking back to me… and that attitude…”

He paused and let out a soft chuckle,

“You really think you can challenge me?”

He took out his phone and texted Sitam,

“Keep an eye on her at the party. If anyone gets too close to her… shoot him right away.”

Samrat loosened the top two buttons of his shirt. He felt restless.

He kept checking the time again and again.

Now he wasn’t waiting for the party to end…

he was only waiting for Vaidehi to come back.

“I’ll deal with you when you come back…” he said quietly.

Meanwhile, at the party, Vaidehi was grabbing everyone’s attention… but she had no idea that someone was waiting for her at home—

with anger, obsession, and a sense of possession.

Samrat said to himself one last time,

“You’ll answer for everything, Vaidehi… remember that.”

The party atmosphere was absolutely grand. Lights everywhere, luxurious decorations, and the city’s elite crowd filled the place. Vaidehi herself came from a wealthy background, but because of her mother, she had never really gotten the chance to attend such lavish parties.

But all of this only mattered to Vaidehi… until her eyes fell on the food counter.

The moment the aroma of food reached her, a different kind of sparkle lit up her face.

Taking a deep breath, she thought to herself,

“To face Samrat’s anger, I need energy… and energy comes from food!”

On the outside, she walked gracefully with full princess vibes…

but inside, her target was crystal clear—straight to the food counter.

People around her kept stealing glances. Her emerald green gown and diamond necklace made her look like a fairy.

There was admiration in the boys’ eyes… and a hint of jealousy in the girls’.

But Vaidehi didn’t care at all.

She was completely busy filling her plate.

—Whatever she liked, she piled it onto her plate.

Then she started trying different juices alongside it.

With kiwi juice in one hand and a plate in the other—

she truly looked like a little child at a fair, wanting to taste everything.

In another corner of the hall, Rukmini Devi was sitting with her friend Malini.

Malini had been watching Vaidehi for quite some time. She smiled and said,

“Rukmini, honestly… your daughter-in-law is no less than an angel. It’s hard to believe that such a beautiful girl is Samrat’s wife. But… well, our Samrat is so handsome, he probably deserves someone even more beautiful.”

She let out a soft laugh and added,

“Her behavior is just like a child’s. Look at her—she’s in such a hurry to eat. It actually makes me laugh thinking… how does your serious and strict son even handle her?”

Rukmini Devi smiled faintly and took a deep breath.

For a moment, the contrast between Samrat’s stern nature and Vaidehi’s innocence was clearly visible on her face…

but then a sense of calm settled over her.

Softly, she said,

“You know, Malini… I always wanted a daughter. But after Samrat, the doctor advised against it… and I never got another chance.”

She looked at Vaidehi—who was still happily sipping her juice.

“But when Vaidehi came into this house… it felt like God fulfilled that incomplete wish of mine. This is exactly the kind of lively, innocent girl I always wanted.”

With a gentle smile, she continued,

“And as for Samrat… yes, he might be struggling a little. But he’ll learn… because a girl like Vaidehi is exactly the one who can change someone like him.”

Then, in a light teasing tone, she added,

“And as for becoming a grandmother… that will happen when it’s meant to happen.”

Meanwhile, Vaidehi was lost in her own little world—food, juice, and her small joys.

She had no idea that someone was waiting for her at home…

and what was about to happen when she returned.

After nearly half an hour of thoroughly enjoying food and drinks, Vaidehi’s stomach was completely full. She was about to burp but stopped herself. Wiping her face, she walked straight to Rukmini Devi.

“Mamma… when are we going home now?” she asked innocently.

Instead of feeling embarrassed in front of her friend, Rukmini Devi laughed,

“Oh Vaidehi, dear… we just got here. The cake cutting is still left, dinner is still left… and you already want to go home?”

Vaidehi pouted and said,

“But Mamma, I’ve already eaten everything. What’s the point of staying now? And… Samrat must be getting bored alone at home…”

Though deep inside, she knew he wasn’t bored—he was probably angry.

Rukmini Devi gently explained,

“Stay a little longer, dear… then we’ll leave. The party has only just begun.”

Vaidehi felt a little annoyed, but she couldn’t refuse her Mamma.

She started wandering around the hall, and just then she realized that all the juice she had consumed… was now starting to have its effectShe needed to go to the washroom immediately.

It was a luxurious 7-star hotel, and the party was being held in a grand hall on the ground floor.

Vaidehi asked a waiter standing nearby,

“Excuse me… where is the washroom?”

The waiter pointed toward a long corridor.

Vaidehi quickly walked in that direction.

The corridor was quite quiet, as most of the guests were still in the hall.

She entered the ladies’ washroom. It was spacious and spotlessly clean.

She stepped into one of the cubicles and closed the door.

At the same time, a hotel cleaner arrived there. He had been instructed by the management to check the washroom every half hour and then keep it closed for a while for cleaning.

He called out from outside,

“Is anyone inside?”

Vaidehi was in the cubicle. She did hear a faint voice, but assumed it was probably another woman.

So, she didn’t respond.

The cleaner noticed that the “Vacant” sign was displayed outside and there was no visible movement inside. (The cubicle Vaidehi was in wasn’t properly locked—she had only pulled the door shut lightly.)

He assumed no one was inside.

He locked the main washroom door from the outside and hung a sign on it—

“Maintenance – Closed,” so that cleaning could be done.

After a while, Vaidehi came out of the cubicle.

She felt an unusual silence all around.

She walked to the sink, washed her hands, and looked into the mirror to fix her lipstick—still lost in her own little world.

But as soon as she reached the main door and tried to open it…

It didn’t open.

“Why… why isn’t this opening?” she said in confusion, pushing it harder.

But the door was locked from the outside.

Her heartbeat began to race.

Panicking, she started banging on the door,

“Hello! Is anyone outside? Please open the door! I’m inside!”

But the music in the corridor was so loud that her voice couldn’t reach outside.

Vaidehi’s fear began to grow.

Suddenly, she remembered Samrat’s words—

“You’ll pay for every single thing…”

Her hands started trembling slightly.

She immediately tried to find her phone… but then remembered—her phone was in her clutch bag, and she had left it on the table near Rukmini Devi.

“Shit…” she muttered under her breath.

Now she was truly trapped.

It wasn’t dark, but the cold air from the AC combined with her fear sent chills through her body.

She leaned against the wall, her eyes filling with tears.

“Oh God… I ran away out of fear of Samrat… and now I’m stuck here…” she whispered to herself,

“I wish I hadn’t drunk so much juice…”

Meanwhile, in the party hall—

Rukmini Devi had started looking for Vaidehi.

And at home….Samrat glanced at his watch and gave a faint smile.

“She’s taking her time…” he murmured to himself,

“Let her come back… then I’ll deal with her.”

He had no idea that the one he called his life was, at that very moment, in trouble.

Samrat sat in his room, staring at the ticking hands of the clock.

Only one thought circled his mind—

the moment Vaidehi returned, he would make her answer for her “misbehavior.”

Just then, his phone suddenly vibrated.

Sitam’s message flashed on the screen—

“Bro, bhabhi is nowhere to be found. We’ve checked the entire hall… uncle and aunty are really worried. Even the guards don’t know anything.”

The moment Samrat read the message, his hand froze.

For a second, everything seemed to stop.

It felt as if the blood in his body had turned cold. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead.

“Not possible…” he whispered.

The very next moment, he said aloud,

“No… nothing can happen to Vaidehi!”

His heart started pounding rapidly.

That love… buried deep inside him for years—something he had finally found with great difficulty—now felt like it was being snatched away.

Samrat grabbed his coat in a rush and ran out.

He almost sprinted toward the garage.

Now there was no anger left in his mind…

only one fear—

“What if something happens to Vaidehi…”

Her innocent smile began flashing in his mind—the same smile he himself often tried to suppress with his strictness.

For the first time, he felt regret for every scolding, every restriction he had ever imposed on her.

“I swear… if anything happens to you…” he clenched his teeth as he started the car,

“I won’t forgive myself…”

On the other side—

Inside that luxurious washroom, it was a completely different world.

Vaidehi had grown exhausted from banging on the door.

She sank down onto the floor.

Fear and panic had begun to take over her body.

Her breaths were getting faster… as if the air around her was running out.

Her hands and feet had gone cold… and her whole body was trembling.

“Samrat ji… please…” she whispered weakly,

“please save me…”

Everything in front of her began to blur.

In that silence, memories of her childhood started resurfacing—

That moment… when she had once been locked in a dark room for the first time.

She began to see the face of her childhood friend, Neer.

It felt as if Neer was calling her from somewhere far away…

“Come… Vaidehi…”

Vaidehi’s breathing grew heavier.

She started to feel… maybe she wouldn’t survive this.

Her eyes slowly began to close.

After some time—

“Kidnapping?” Samrat let out a faint laugh—but there was a cold danger in it, far stronger than fear.

“Who would dare… to touch something that belongs to Samrat?”

His eyes burned with anger.

“Sitam… find her. Right now. I want answers!”

On the other side—

Vaidehi’s condition was getting worse.

She tried to take deep breaths, but it felt like there wasn’t enough air.

Darkness began to cloud her vision.

In her mind, thoughts started racing—

“I wish… I had listened to Samrat… I wish I had just stayed home…”

Strange thoughts flooded her mind—

“What if I die…?

I’ll never have children…

I’ll never get to travel the world…

and… I’ll never even get to see a BTS concert…”

Tears streamed down her face, smudging her red lipstick.

Her body was slowly going numb.

Meanwhile, in the party hall, complete chaos had broken out.

Tears kept streaming from Rukmini Devi’s eyes.

Raghav ji was trying to console her, but even his face had turned pale with fear.

They both knew very well—

If anything happened to Vaidehi… even the slightest harm…

Samrat would unleash devastation.

“This is not good…” Raghav ji said quietly.

Just then—

A thief, who had entered the party disguised as a waiter, noticed Vaidehi’s clutch bag lying on an empty table.

Taking advantage of the chaos around, he quietly picked up the bag.He quickly took out the cash, credit cards, and jewelry from the bag and stuffed them into his pockets.

Then he threw the empty bag near a trash bin and quietly slipped away.

After some time, the police arrived at the party.

They found the same empty bag.

Seeing its condition, the inspector’s face turned serious.

Looking around, he said,

“Looks like… something is seriously wrong here.”

The inspector said in a grave tone,

“Mr. Raghav, this clearly looks like a planned kidnapping. All the valuables are missing from the bag… the kidnappers must have taken Mrs. Vaidehi. Otherwise, this wouldn’t be possible.”

Hearing this, Rukmini Devi burst into tears,

“My child… someone took her! Raghav ji, please do something!”

Just then, the loud screech of tires was heard outside.

Samrat’s black Ferrari came to a halt at the hotel entrance.

He stepped out of the car like a wounded lion.

He walked straight into the hall—his eyes blazing with anger.

The moment he saw the police and his crying mother… his anger exploded.

He immediately grabbed the collars of the guards he had assigned for Vaidehi’s security.

“What the hell were you doing?” he roared,

“What did I hire you for? You couldn’t even protect one girl?”

His grip tightened further,

“If anything happens to her… none of you will walk out alive!”

There was so much rage and pain in his voice that even the police officers stepped back.

Raghav ji tried to hold him,

“Samrat, calm down, son! The police are here… it might be a kidnapping…”

Samrat shook himself free,

“I don’t care what it is! Check the CCTV… every single corner… I want her found, NOW!”

Meanwhile…

Inside the washroom, Vaidehi had completely collapsed onto the floor.

Her lips had turned slightly blue.

In front of her eyes, there was only one face—Samrat.

“Samrat ji… you used to say I belong to you… then why didn’t you come to take me…?”

“Are you still angry with me…?”

She weakly raised her hand toward the door…

But she had no strength left.

It felt like… everything was about to end.

In the entire party, not a single person thought of checking that “Maintenance” section of the ladies’ washroom.

Everyone assumed she had disappeared somewhere outside the hotel.

Meanwhile—

Samrat stood in the middle of the hall.

His breathing was heavy… his heart restless.

Suddenly, he felt something strange.

As if… someone was calling out to him.

“Vaidehi…” he whispered.

His gaze suddenly shifted toward that long, silent corridor… where the ladies’ washroom was.

His heart began pounding loudly.

“She’s there…” he said to himself.

Without wasting a second, he ran toward that corridor.

Now there was only one question—

Would Samrat reach in time…?

Would Vaidehi’s last hope come true…?

This battle between love and death had now reached its peak…

and today, Samrat’s love was about to face its greatest test.
