26-love you Vaidehi love confession

Samrat had laid Vaidehi down on the bed very lovingly.

He had thought that perhaps the hot water bag and its warmth would bring some relief to Vaidehi.

But within half an hour, the scene changed completely.

Vaidehi's sleep suddenly broke with a horrific, sharp shoot of pain.

She felt as if someone was plunging a knife into her lower abdomen.

She doubled over in pain and began to writhe in agony on the bed.

"Ahhhh! Samrat ji... I will die... it hurts so much!

" Vaidehi's scream echoed throughout the room.

Samrat, who was sitting on a sofa nearby working on his laptop, jumped up with a start and rushed to Vaidehi.

Seeing Vaidehi's condition, he completely panicked.

She was drenched in sweat, her face had turned pale, and she was throwing the pillows here and there like crazy.

She was gripping the bedsheet tightly in her fists, trying to tear it apart.

"Vaidehi! Calm down, sweetheart... I am right here," Samrat said frantically, pulling her close to his chest. Vaidehi was banging her head against his chest and sobbing in sheer pain.

Just then, the door of the room burst open.

Hearing Vaidehi's screams, Rukmini Devi and Raghav Ji came running inside.

"What happened, Samrat? Why is Vaidehi screaming so much?

" Rukmini Devi asked in a panic. Her eyes fell upon Vaidehi, who was writhing terribly in Samrat's arms.

Samrat looked toward his mother; for the first time, fear was clearly visible in his eyes.

"Mom, she is in extreme pain... she has got her periods, but this pain doesn't seem normal.

This is deadly!"

Raghav Ji immediately said, "I will call Doctor Khanna.

He must be arriving any minute."

The next ten minutes were nothing less than hell for Samrat.

He was trying to give Vaidehi the warmth of his body by holding her tightly in his arms, rubbing her stomach, but Vaidehi just kept on crying.

She was saying repeatedly, "Samrat ji, please save me.

.. my life is slipping away."

Soon, Doctor Khanna entered the room.

He took one look at Vaidehi's condition and immediately opened his bag.

"She is experiencing very severe cramps.

I will have to give her a heavy painkiller injection immediately," the doctor said and administered the injection to Vaidehi.

About fifteen minutes after the injection was given, Vaidehi's body relaxed a little.

Her crying subsided, but tears were continuously flowing from her eyes.

The doctor checked her up and then looked gravely at Samrat and his family.

"Look, this seems to be a very severe problem of dysmenorrhea.

This much pain is not normal. I think she will have to be taken to the hospital tomorrow morning; we will need to perform some ultrasounds and blood tests.

There might be a cyst, or the hormonal imbalance could be very high.

Otherwise, such deadly pain... this is scary," the doctor explained.

The doctor turned toward Vaidehi and asked, "Child, do you experience this much pain every single time?

"

Vaidehi slowly opened her eyes and said in a faint voice, "Yes, Doctor.

.. it happens like this every time. This time, they have come after 3 months, so perhaps it is hurting even more.

But I have had this much pain since childhood.

"

The doctor was shocked. "If it used to hurt this much, did your parents never take you to a hospital?

Its treatment should have started a long time ago.

"

Hearing this, Vaidehi lowered her gaze and fell silent.

A deep sadness cast over her face. She said softly, "No.

.. they never took me. Mummy used to say that all women have to bear this, there is no need to do drama over it.

"

The moment Samrat heard this, his fists clenched in pure rage.

The blood boiled in his veins. He began to curse those people in his mind who had left his so fragile wife all alone in such agony since childhood.

Samrat said to the doctor in a firm and strict voice, "Doctor, my wife's responsibility is mine now.

I don't care what anyone else did. Tomorrow morning, I myself will take her to the best hospital.

For now, you just tell me how she will get relief.

"

The doctor prescribed some medicines and said, "Feed her warm things.

Papaya, dark chocolate, and herbal tea will be good for her.

And Mr. Samrat, at this time, she will have severe mood swings and irritability.

You will have to take extra care of her.

Do not leave her alone."

After the doctor left, Rukmini Devi and Raghav Ji also breathed a sigh of relief and went back to their room.

Now, only Samrat and Vaidehi were left in the room.

Outside, it was raining heavily. Vaidehi had always loved the rain, but today, even the sound of the rain was irritating her.

She was feeling dirty and sticky all over.

"I am not feeling good, Samrat ji...

I feel so gross," Vaidehi said with a pout.

Samrat, who had brought soup for her, placed the bowl aside and sat on the bed next to Vaidehi.

He wiped the beads of sweat from her forehead and very tenderly pulled her into his arms.

Vaidehi tried to push him away, "Move.

.. I am feeling hot. You are sticking to me too.

"

Samrat smiled. He knew that it wasn't Vaidehi speaking, but her hormones.

He held her even tighter and whispered near her ear, "Lie down quietly.

My body heat will give you relief from the pain.

And anyway, your misbehaviors are forgiven today.

"

Vaidehi suddenly recalled the moment when she had slapped Samrat in front of everyone in the college canteen.

She had thought that once Samrat came home, he would chew her alive or strangle her.

But here, everything was happening quite the opposite.

The man on whose fair cheek the faint marks of Vaidehi's fingers were still visible was currently massaging her feet.

"Didn't you get angry?" Vaidehi asked softly.

Samrat looked into her eyes, "About what?

"

"That... what I did in front of everyone.

I slapped you... insulted you," Vaidehi said, averting her eyes.

Samrat took a deep breath, and kissing her hand, he said, "I did get very angry, Vaidehi.

I felt like slamming you down right there.

But when I came to know about your condition.

.. my anger vanished. I felt that my wife has truly gone mad and she doesn't need treatment, she needs my care.

"

Vaidehi was stunned. She had never imagined that a stone-hearted man like Samrat could be this understanding as well.

Samrat did not sleep the entire night.

Vaidehi kept tossing and turning in pain; sometimes she felt hot, and sometimes she would start shivering with cold.

Samrat would sometimes cover her with a blanket, and sometimes wipe her forehead with a wet cloth.

At 3 o'clock in the night, when Vaidehi started sobbing in pain again, Samrat pulled her into his lap and began to gently rub her stomach until she fell back asleep.

As the first ray of the morning sun fell upon Vaidehi's face, her eyes slowly opened.

She felt a strong grip around her waist. Samrat was still holding her tightly in his arms, as if he was afraid that if he loosened his grip, Vaidehi would drown back into the ocean of pain.

Vaidehi slowly lifted her head and looked at Samrat's sleeping face.

The redness of yesterday's slap on his cheek had faded now, but the marks were still there.

Vaidehi's heart filled with intense guilt.

Just then, Samrat's eyes opened. Seeing her awake, lines of worry instantly surfaced on his face.

"Vaidehi? How are you feeling? Did the pain start again?

"

Vaidehi shook her head slowly, "No, I am fine now.

The effect of the medicine is probably still there.

"

Samrat got up and looked at the clock.

"It's 8 o'clock. Your exam paper is from 10 o'clock, right?

Get ready. I will drop you to college, and as soon as the paper finishes, we will go straight to the hospital.

"

Vaidehi wanted to refuse, "Samrat ji, let me skip the exam today.

I don't have the strength."

Samrat looked straight into her eyes and said, "No, Vaidehi.

The exam is important. Don't worry about the pain, I am with you.

You just focus on the paper, I will wait for you outside.

"

Vaidehi complied with Samrat's words.

Samrat himself fed her breakfast and kept a hot water bottle with her in the car.

Upon reaching the college, Samrat dropped her right up to the gate.

The entire class was staring at Vaidehi.

After yesterday's drama in the canteen, everyone had assumed that Samrat wouldn't let Vaidehi step out of the house today, but here, Samrat had come himself to drop her in his car and was even opening the car door for her.

During the exam, Vaidehi felt a mild pain on and off, but Samrat's words were echoing in her ears, which gave her strength.

As soon as the exam finished at 1 o'clock, Vaidehi came outside.

Samrat was standing right there, leaning against his car.

Seeing her, a relieved smile spread across Samrat's face.

"How was the paper?" Samrat asked, taking her bag.

"It was good, but now my stomach is twisting with cramps again," Vaidehi said, clutching her stomach.

Samrat immediately took a small container out of his pocket and gave her a painkiller and water.

"Take this, the doctor had said to give it as soon as the pain starts.

Now come, let's eat something first, then we'll go to the hospital.

"

Samrat took her to a very quiet and luxurious restaurant in the city.

He ordered a light lunch of her choice for Vaidehi.

Vaidehi was very quiet. She couldn't understand why the man who, until yesterday, used to call 'love' nonsense, was doing so much today.

After having lunch, they went straight to 'City Life Hospital'.

Samrat had already taken an appointment with the city's biggest gynecologist, Doctor Malhotra.

As soon as they walked inside the cabin, the doctor asked about Vaidehi's old reports and her condition.

"Doctor, she gets deadly pain every time during periods.

Last night she was almost about to faint," Samrat said anxiously.

The doctor sent Vaidehi for an ultrasound and some blood tests.

After about an hour, the reports arrived.

Doctor Malhotra looked at the reports, and the lines of worry on his forehead deepened.

He took off his glasses and looked toward Samrat.

"Mr. Samrat, you are very late in bringing her here.

Do you even have any idea what your wife is going through?

" There was both anger and gravity in the doctor's voice.

Samrat's heart missed a beat. "What has happened, Doctor?

Is it some minor infection?"

The doctor placed the report on the table and said, "Minor?

She has a disease named Endometriosis, and that too has reached its most dangerous stage, meaning 'Stage 4'.

Large 'chocolate cysts' have formed around her uterus, which are now on the verge of bursting.

"

Tears spilled from Vaidehi's eyes. Samrat's face turned pale.

He hadn't even heard this name until today.

The doctor spoke further, "This disease has been eating her up from the inside for years.

Whenever she had her periods, instead of that blood flowing out, it was accumulating inside her abdominal organs.

Because of this, her organs have started sticking together.

If it had remained like this for another month or two, these cysts would have burst inside and the infection would have spread throughout her entire body.

In that condition, saving her would have been impossible.

She could have died!"

Hearing the word 'death', the ground slipped beneath Samrat's feet.

He felt as if someone had poured ice-cold water into his chest. Darkness began to hover before his eyes.

For the first time in his life, Samrat Pratap Singh felt a fear that he had never experienced before.

He felt as if his very existence was about to end.

"Doctor... what is its cure? Just make her well," Samrat's voice was trembling.

The doctor took a deep sigh, "For now, we will have to perform an immediate surgery.

We need to remove those cysts and separate the organs that have stuck together.

But this is a very complicated surgery. Even after this, she will have to remain under treatment for a long time.

"

The doctor looked at Vaidehi and asked in a softer tone, "Child, you were having this pain for so many years, did you never tell anyone at home?

"

Vaidehi began to sob uncontrollably.

"I told them, Doctor... I told them many times.

But Mummy used to say that this is all drama.

She used to say that I make excuses to avoid work.

She never let me go to a doctor."

When Samrat heard this, his anger breached all limits.

He felt like going right this instant and burning Vaidehi's maternal family alive.

Those people had played such a massive game with his innocent girl's life.

Samrat gripped Vaidehi's hand firmly.

There was moisture in his own eyes too. He said to the doctor, "Prepare for the surgery, Doctor.

I will sign the forms right now."

Vaidehi was admitted.

She was put into hospital clothes and an IV drip was started.

Samrat sat beside her the entire time. And all of these things were happening in a great rush.

Vaidehi was shivering with pain and fear.

"Samrat ji... will I be alright? I am feeling very scared," Vaidehi said, sobbing.

Samrat brought both her hands to his lips.

"Vaidehi, look at me. Nothing will happen to you.

I promise. There are still a lot of fights left between us.

I still have to settle the score for yesterday's slap with you.

You cannot get rid of me this easily."

Vaidehi looked into Samrat's eyes.

In those eyes where once only hatred and arrogance used to be seen, today boundless love and the fear of losing her were clearly visible.

Samrat's heart felt as though it would leap out.

Vaidehi had become his life.

At night, when Vaidehi was given her pre-surgery medications and she fell asleep, Samrat came out of the cabin.

There was silence in the corridor. Samrat sat on a bench and hid his face in his hands.

Tears were falling from his eyes. The man who had never bowed before anyone, today looked as if he had lost to himself.

His 15 years of waiting...

"Don't let anything happen to her.

.. please. I cannot lose her," Samrat confessed his heart's true feeling to himself for the first time.

Just then, Sitam, Gayatri, Rukmini Devi, and Raghav Ji also reached the hospital.

Gayatri started crying upon hearing about Vaidehi's condition.

Sitam placed a hand on Samrat's shoulder.

"Brother, she will be fine. She is very strong," Sitam said consolingly.

Samrat looked at Sitam with bloodshot eyes, "Sitam, those people had left her to die.

Her own parents. If the doctor hadn't told me all this today, I would have never known what kind of agony she was in.

"

Over here, seeing her son's condition, Rukmini Devi pulled him to her chest, kissed his head, and said, "Everything will be fine, son.

"

Raghav Ji also placed a hand on his shoulder.

The next morning, Vaidehi was being taken to the operation theater.

Samrat was walking alongside the stretcher.

Reaching the door of the OT, he kissed Vaidehi's forehead.

"I am standing right here, I will wait for you right here.

Don't be afraid at all," Samrat said.

The doors closed and the red light turned on.

Samrat stood right there, leaning against the wall.

Three hours passed, but Samrat did not move even an inch from his place.

Only those same things were revolving in his mind-the doctor saying 'death', Vaidehi's writhing, and her innocent face.

Finally, the OT light turned off. The doctor came out.

Samrat rushed to him.

"Doctor? How is she?

"

The doctor smiled and removed his mask.

"The surgery was successful. We have removed all the cysts.

She is in the recovery room right now. It will take a little time for her to regain consciousness.

"

It felt as if all the tension drained out of Samrat's body.

He took the support of the wall right there and sat down on the floor.

Tears of joy flowed from his eyes.

But there was no one to witness this condition of his.

To the world, he shows himself as cruel, but deep down inside, he too possessed a heart that beats for Vaidehi.

A few hours later, Vaidehi was shifted to the ward.

When she regained consciousness, the first person she saw was Samrat.

Samrat was sitting near her bed, holding her hand.

His eyes were red due to staying awake, and his beard had grown a little.

Vaidehi tried to smile faintly. "You.

.. are still here?"

Samrat kissed her hand.

"Didn't I tell you, I will never let go of your hand.

"

Vaidehi saw that there was a strange peace in Samrat's eyes.

She felt that although this disease had given her a lot of pain, Samrat leaned close to her ear and said, "Vaidehi, I wanted to say one thing.

From next time, if you have any trouble, tell me first."

She gripped Samrat's hand even tighter.

Outside, the rain had started again, but this time, this rain did not feel dirty to Vaidehi.

This rain was washing away all the old sorrows and bringing the message of a new beginning.

Samrat had now become an extra-caring husband.

He dismissed the nurse and began to take care of every small and big need of Vaidehi himself.

Giving her medicine on time, massaging her feet, comforting her-Samrat was doing everything himself.

Vaidehi was just staring at him in amazement.

She could not believe at all that this was the same 'monster' Samrat.

She held Samrat's hand and said, "I had slapped you.

.. please forgive me."

Samrat smiled mischievously and said, "Forgiveness will not be granted so easily.

Once you get well, then I will take the revenge for those slaps with passion.

And for one slap because I had slapped you once and you gave me two, so the account for one-one is settled.

.. now one slap remains."

Vaidehi blushed and into Samrat's arms..

.

The time after the surgery brought a mixed feeling of pain and relief for Vaidehi.

There was a gentle peace in the room, and the soft rays of sunlight from outside the window were falling on the bed.

Vaidehi was sitting up a little, leaning against the bed.

Samrat was sitting very close to her and was trying to feed her soup with a spoon.

Vaidehi's face was still a little pale, but Samrat's closeness was giving her a strange comfort.

"Samrat ji, stop it... I can't drink any more," Vaidehi said softly, stopping his hand.

Samrat glared at her, "Quietly finish the whole thing, Vaidehi.

The doctor has said that you need internal strength.

If you throw tantrums, then no one will be worse than me.

"

Vaidehi made a slight face, but seeing that subtle change on Samrat's face and his care, she couldn't help but smile.

Just as Samrat brought the spoon near her lips, Vaidehi drank the soup.

At that exact moment, Samrat leaned forward very slowly.

His lips touched Vaidehi's cheeks, right where she had slapped him yesterday.

"Does it still hurt?" Samrat asked in a very low, heavy voice.

Vaidehi's heart raced. Before she could say anything, the door of the room opened slowly.

Inside the room, Rukmini Devi, Raghav Ji, Gayatri, and Sitam entered together.

Behind them were two more people-a very sophisticated and wealthy-looking middle-aged couple.

They were Gayatri's parents. Gayatri's entire family belonged to one of the biggest business houses in the city, and their luxury was clearly reflected in their clothes and the way they walked.

Suddenly seeing so many people, Vaidehi jerked slightly away from Samrat.

Her face turned red with embarrassment. Samrat very effortlessly placed the soup bowl on the side table and stood up.

"Vaidehi! You are fine, right, buddy?

" Gayatri came running and sat straight near Vaidehi's bed.

There were still tears in her eyes. "Do you even have any idea how scared I was?

Why didn't you ever tell me that you have such a big problem?

"

Vaidehi held Gayatri's hand and tried to calm her down, "I am fine Gayatri, absolutely fine now.

The doctor said the surgery went well."

Gayatri's mother came forward and caressed Vaidehi's head, "Child, you are very brave.

Gayatri hasn't slept since last night, she was just praying for you.

Thank God that you are safe now."

Raghav Ji and Rukmini Devi also welcomed Gayatri's parents.

Sitam was standing to one side, fixing his hair as usual, but relief was clearly visible in his eyes for his Vaidehi as well.

Everyone in the room was talking, but Vaidehi's eyes were repeatedly darting toward the door.

She was looking for someone. When no one else came inside for a long time, a strange helplessness and sadness cast over Vaidehi's eyes.

In her dry voice, she looked toward Rukmini Devi and asked, "Mummy ji.

.. did my... did my Mummy-Papa not come?

Do they not know that I underwent surgery?

"

Hearing this question, a dead silence fell over the entire room.

Samrat's back went completely straight and his fists clenched inside his pants pockets.

Rukmini Devi looked awkwardly at Raghav Ji, then keeping her voice as normal as possible, she came near Vaidehi.

She took Vaidehi's hand in her own and said very softly, "Child.

.. that... your papa's phone call had come.

He was saying that suddenly some very important work regarding business has come up, which he cannot leave and come.

And your mummy... her knee pain has increased a lot, so she cannot travel such a long distance to come to Rajasthan.

She has said that as soon as you get a little better, she will talk over the phone.

"

Rukmini Devi managed the situation with words, but she couldn't muster the courage to look into Vaidehi's eyes.

She herself was a mother and she knew how hollow this excuse was.

Vaidehi said nothing. She just nodded her head slowly.

She cast a glance toward Samrat, who was standing facing the window.

A tear silently escaped Vaidehi's eye and fell onto the pillow.

She gripped her veil tightly and said to Rukmini Devi, "Mummy ji.

.. I am... I am feeling a bit strange. I am feeling sleepy.

"

Samrat immediately understood her condition.

He knew that Vaidehi was broken more mentally at this moment than from the physical pain.

Samrat turned around to look at everyone, and his voice carried a commanding tone, "Dad, Mom.

.. the doctor has said that she needs maximum rest right now.

You people please take Uncle-Aunty and sit outside.

I am here with her."

Gayatri's parents and everyone else understood that Vaidehi needed privacy at this time.

Gayatri squeezed Vaidehi's hand, "I am just outside, call me if you need anything.

" Everyone slowly walked out of the room.

As soon as the room door closed, Samrat came near Vaidehi's bed.

Vaidehi had closed her eyes, but tears were continuously flowing from the corners of her eyelids.

Samrat kept looking at her, and a volcano of anger was erupting inside him.

'What kind of parents are they?' Samrat also had a mummy and papa.

If he got even a small scratch in his childhood, Raghav Ji and Rukmini Devi would raise the whole palace on their heads.

Doctors from all over the world would be called.

And here was Vaidehi... who had come back from the jaws of death, and her parents had an excuse of a business meeting and knee pain!

Samrat began to remember that he had been seeing Vaidehi since childhood.

Her maternal family members always used to scold and beat her over small things.

Multiple times when they used to come to their house, Samrat himself had stopped her papa from raising a hand on Vaidehi.

And on the wedding day... Samrat's blood boiled when he remembered that when Vaidehi was sitting in the wedding mandap, there were faint red marks of fingers on both her cheeks.

It was clearly evident that right before the farewell, someone had slapped her hard.

At that time, due to the wedding rituals and the environment, Samrat had controlled himself and let the matter go.

But today... today he was feeling so much anger toward those people that if they were in front of him, he would erase their very existence.

He wanted to talk directly to Vaidehi's family regarding this thing, to remind them of their status, but he saw that Vaidehi was in an extremely fragile condition right now.

He suppressed his anger inside himself and sat on the bed near Vaidehi.

Just then, the room door opened again and Doctor Malhotra came inside with his round sheets.

A senior nurse was also with him.

Samrat stood up immediately, "Doctor, she is feeling very tired right now.

"

The doctor checked Vaidehi's pulse and, looking at her reports, said, "Mr. Samrat, the surgery was very successful, but we have to remain very careful for the future.

'Stage 4' of Endometriosis is very tricky.

"

Samrat asked seriously, "Doctor, is there any danger going forward as well?

Can this disease occur again?"

The doctor adjusted his glasses and explained, "Look, in this disease, the tissue that should be inside the uterus starts growing outside.

We have removed the chocolate cysts by performing surgery just now and have also separated the organs that were stuck together.

But there is no permanent cure for it. It can come back again due to hormonal imbalance.

"

The doctor looked at Vaidehi, who was quietly listening to their conversation.

The doctor further said, "The most important thing for this is a very strict lifestyle and a stress-free environment.

She should not receive mental stress of any kind.

If she takes depression or stress, the hormones will act up again and the pain can return.

And yes, going forward, there might be a little difficulty in conceiving, for which we will have to keep regular therapy and medicines ongoing.

"

'Difficulty in getting pregnant'-hearing this, Vaidehi's heart sank for a moment.

She looked at Samrat fearfully. She felt that a big personality like Samrat, who has such a huge lineage, would perhaps distance himself from her after hearing this.

But there wasn't a single line of worry on Samrat's face.

He said to the doctor in clear words, "Doctor, I am only concerned with her health.

Everything else comes later for me. You just explain the medications and diet chart to me, I will take care of the rest myself.

"

The doctor smiled, "That's like a good husband.

Right now heavy doses have been given to her, so she will sleep.

Do not disturb her." The doctor gave instructions and went outside.

After the doctor left, the room became completely quiet again.

Vaidehi was lying silently on the bed. She was still feeling the pain, there was a strange shoot of pain in the stitches, but far more than that physical pain, there was a deep sting in her heart.

She was repeatedly remembering that behavior of her maternal family.

Samrat came near the bed and dimmed the light a little.

He lay down on the bed right next to Vaidehi and brought a strong hand near her waist.

"Samrat ji.

.. the doctor said that going forward perhaps.

.." Vaidehi's voice broke.

"Didn't I tell you, Vaidehi.

.. keep quiet," Samrat cut her off mid-sentence in his cold and heavy voice.

He brought his face so close to Vaidehi's face that the breaths of both began to collide with each other.

There was no anger in Samrat's eyes at this moment, but rather such a deep passion that anyone would melt seeing it.

He removed Vaidehi's scattered hair from her face with his fingers.

His touch was so soft that a shiver ran through Vaidehi's body.

"What do you think, does Samrat Pratap Singh lack anything?

Or do I care about this world?" Samrat whispered, gazing deeply into her eyes.

"You belong only to me. This pain of yours, this disease of yours, and these eyes of yours.

.. only I have a right over all of these.

"

Samrat very slowly rested his lips on Vaidehi's forehead.

It was an extremely long and deep kiss. After that, he came a little lower and, kissing both her cheeks, stopped right close to her lips.

Vaidehi's heart was beating so fast that she felt her heartbeat must be clearly audible to Samrat.

She wanted Samrat to say at this moment that he loves her.

Her soul was longing to hear this one thing.

But Samrat pulled his lips back. His pride, his ego was not allowing him to express the word 'love'.

He would have given his life for her, but he would never accept that he has weakened before anyone.

Vaidehi also said nothing. She too remained silent.

She hid her face in Samrat's broad chest. Even though Samrat had not expressed his love, his being near her like this in this stormy and painful time, taking care of her every little thing was everything for Vaidehi.

Outside, the raindrops started hitting the window glass again, and inside the room, wrapped in the circle of Samrat's arms, forgetting all her sorrows, Vaidehi was slowly drifting into the embrace of sleep.

Samrat kept holding her tightly, as if he wanted to hide her from every pain of the world.

It was 12 o'clock at night. There was silence in the hospital room.

Outside, the rain had stopped; only the faint sound of occasional drops falling was coming from the window.

Vaidehi's sleep suddenly broke with a strange restlessness.

When she opened her eyes, she saw Samrat leaning right over her.

The faint, dim light of the room was falling on his face, making him look even more handsome and rough-and-tough today.

There was a strange glint in his eyes, which was shaking Vaidehi to her very core.

Vaidehi's cheeks turned red with embarrassment.

Her breathing grew fast. With great difficulty, she brought her voice out, "Samrat ji.

.. why... why are you looking at me like this?

You are exciting me. I am not in that condition right now to do anything.

"

Samrat smiled and slowly placed one of his fingers on Vaidehi's lips, "Shhh.

.. remain quiet, Vaidehi. Don't say anything.

"

After this, Samrat lifted Vaidehi very gently from the bed.

He pulled out a very lovely, soft dress from the side and giving it to her, said, "Wear this.

"

Vaidehi could not understand anything, but at Samrat's words, she took off her hospital gown.

She no longer had any hesitation in changing clothes in front of Samrat; this trust had been born out of that night.

She wore that dress and looked toward Samrat.

Without saying a word, Samrat lifted Vaidehi in his strong arms and walked toward the lift.

Vaidehi just remained clung to his chest. The lift stopped upon reaching the topmost floor.

The moment they opened the terrace door, Vaidehi's eyes were left wide open in shock.

Thousands of rose petals were falling slowly from above.

The view of the terrace was like some heaven.

Samrat took her toward the light burning ahead, where a large table was decorated.

There was a beautiful cake on it and fresh rose flowers were kept all around.

A lot of candles were burning nearby, whose flames were dancing in the light breeze.

Soft raindrops were falling again from above now, and the fragrance of flowers from the small plants kept around was dissolving into the air.

Samrat made Vaidehi sit near the table and sat on his knees in front of her.

"I had never thought that I would have to propose to you like this," Samrat's voice was a bit heavy.

"You had asked, right, whether I love you?

So today, listen to each and every word with your ears wide open.

"

Samrat paused for a bit, then said, "This beauty, this youth, or this simplicity that you have.

.. all of this came later. I love you since the time when you were very small.

My love is 15 years old, Vaidehi. I love you to the limit of madness, with such intensity that you cannot even estimate.

"

Tears began to flow from Vaidehi's eyes.

These were the words for which her soul had been waiting for years.

She felt that all of this was a dream, which would break as soon as her eyes opened.

As soon as Samrat saw that fear in her eyes, he slowly gave a light bite with his teeth on Vaidehi's cheek.

"Ah!" a small scream of pain escaped Vaidehi's mouth.

"Did it hurt?" Samrat asked with a smile.

Vaidehi placed her hand on her cheek and nodded her head.

Samrat said, "So this is not a dream, this is reality.

"

Vaidehi did not waste even a single moment and wrapped herself around Samrat's chest. Crying, she said while sobbing, "I also love you very much, Samrat ji.

.. for a full 4 years..."

Samrat was shocked.

He had thought that Vaidehi considered him merely a strict professor, but she had been loving him with all her heart and soul for 4 years.

His face filled with surprise and happiness.

He took Vaidehi's face in his hands and gave her such a kiss, which contained not only love, but the depth of that 15 years of waiting.

Just then, the rain became even faster from the sky.

Those two were getting drenched in that very rain, but at that moment, they had no realization of the cold.

On the roof of the hospital, amidst those drops of rain, two souls merged into each other forever.

The wall of Samrat's ego had crumbled and the end of Vaidehi's fear had come.

From today, a new life of theirs was about to begin-a life where there was only love and each other's companionship.

But the story has not ended yet, the real twist is about to come very soon, wait for it and keep reading!
