In the back of the car, skidding through the rain to the airport, Eve opens Bug to type out a message. She cannot think of anything to ask. She just wants to be with Danny. And then—

Then the app crashes.

Which is fitting. Perfect, actually. Like a favor from Bug.

She puts her phone back in her pocket, and she stares outside at the city hurtling past.
