Chapter Seven
Brody
Truthfully, I didn’t bring guys home often.
Until last year, I’d had a roommate. A foreign student studying to get his PhD in molecular biology at the University of British Columbia.
He’d completed his studies, and instead of trying to stay in Canada, he’d returned to one of the most impoverished regions in Punjab to teach.
I had a hell of a lot of respect for him.
In the eight years he’d lived with me, I’d barely seen him, spoken to him, or interacted with him—at his behest. He just wanted to study. So he had. All day. Every day.
I’d put all that rent money toward my mortgage and was a hell of a lot closer to owning the condo outright. And it had almost doubled in value in the last eight years. Which was nuts. Vancouver real estate was insane.
Robbie followed me to the elevator. I’d waved at Heidi as we’d passed. With a firm hand at his back, I guided my guest into the elevator.
We hadn’t actually had the are you gay conversation, but I had precisely zero doubts that not only was he gay, but that we’d be compatible.
As long as he doesn’t think he’s going to have sex with Stefan’s ghost.
Well, since my brother had been as straight as they came—and because he’d died mere days after meeting Robbie—I didn’t figure he was with me at this point because of Stefan. I probably should’ve asked…but I didn’t want to know. All that shit could get sorted in the morning.
I unlocked my twenty-fourth-floor condo and ushered Robbie inside. We removed our shoes, and I took his coat to hang with mine in the front hall closet.
He gestured toward the living room and the sliding glass door.
I grinned. “You might want to put your shoes back on. There’ll likely be snow on the balcony.”
“In the morning, then.”
“Yeah, the morning.”
“Because I can think of other things we might do now.”
“Well, I have to say I’m glad to hear that. I was going to offer you something warm to drink—”
He stepped right up to me. “Or you could make me warm.”
“Or I could make you warm.” I gazed into his dark eyes, seeing my desire reflected in them. He was just a couple of inches shorter than my own six-two. I traced my finger along his cheek. “Condoms and I top?”
He grinned. “Oh, fuck yes.
“Then follow me.” I snagged his hand and dragged him down the hall. “Guest bathroom.” I opened the door.
He arched an eyebrow.
“Well, I gotta piss, and I’m using my bathroom. If you can drink that much cider and not have to—”
He shut me up by pressing his lips to mine.
Yep. That’s effective. I opened my mouth, welcoming his invading tongue. As he sought the recesses of my mouth, I slid my hands down his flank, around his back, and to his ass. I pressed his erection against mine and pushed.
He moaned, grasping my hair and tugging me closer.
So many words yet unspoken. Things we needed to say. In this moment, though, I couldn’t have cared less. I needed him. He apparently needed me. I’d push the memory of my dead, beloved brother from my mind and just enjoy this one night. The night to ring in the new year.
In the end, he pulled back from the kiss. “Yeah, I gotta piss too. You going to be naked by the time I get in there?”
“Oh, you better believe it.” I pressed a kiss to his lips and booted my ass to my bathroom.
I pissed and stripped out of my clothes.
I threw my wallet to the back of the bathroom cupboard behind the toilet paper—because I still had Hallstein in my mind.
I nabbed my cell phone and headed back into my bedroom.
Robbie arrived at the same time I did. He carried his trousers and shirt with his underwear and socks piled on top. Plus, he had his wallet and cell phone.
Ever practical, I eyed the phone. “Do you need to charge it?”
“I charged it just before I went out.” He put the clothes on the reading chair by the window.
“Although if I’m here longer…I just might.
” He approached the window to peer out. “I should be vaguely concerned about your neighbors seeing me naked, shouldn’t I?
A much-older gentleman lives directly across from me, and he doesn’t wear clothes often.
Well, I should say the few times I’ve accidentally caught a glimpse, there haven’t been any threads. ”
I laughed. “Okay, not an image I want in my mind. We’re close to the next building, but I’ve never paid attention. In the morning, you’ll understand why.” I couldn’t wait to show him my view.
He stood before me, naked and clearly proud. He had a gorgeous body—all lean muscle and sinew. Not washboard abs, which was just fine with me. I followed the line of his chest hair down to his bellybutton and lower still.
At my examination, he grasped his cock. “Will I still be here in the morning?”
I grinned. “If you’re still here at sunrise, I’ll get you a charger, and you can see my view. You’re not a vampire, are you? Going to need to hide away?” I was kidding, of course.
“Uh, no. Creative mind, though.” He met my grin, even as he stroked himself.
“I was a grip on the pilot of a terrible vampire show. Thank God it never got picked up.” I advanced toward him. “This is going to be so good.” I gestured to the bed with my chin. “Can I prep you? I always find that so fucking sexy.”
“Oh, I’m looking forward to it.” He blinked. “I haven’t had…that is, there hasn’t been…”
I moved swiftly to his side. I ran my hand up and down his arm. “You’re here. I’m here. I haven’t done as much as you probably think. Wedded to my job. I put in a lot of hours.” I’d never had a serious relationship because I’d never met someone who captured my imagination.
Robbie does.
Another thought for another time.
He turned to kiss me. Sweet this time. Just a pressing of lips. He pulled back. “You do the bedding and I’ll make myself available.”
“Yeah. Facing okay? I know some guys—”
“Facing is perfect. I want to watch you as you come undone.”
A shy grin emerged. “I like the sound of that.”
I yanked the comforter down to the foot of the bed.
I kept the room at a nice ambient temperature because I disliked being hot.
After I pulled down the sheet for him, he crawled onto the bed and made his way to the center.
I moved to the nightstand and yanked out the box of condoms and the bottle of lube.
After eight years of never bringing someone home—because of the foreign-student roommate and my respect for him—I’d tried a few months ago.
I hadn’t enjoyed the alien sensation of someone in my space.
So I’d stuck to either going back to the places of the guys I hooked up with or a hotel, which was always pricey.
Now? With Robbie here?
This felt…perilously perfect.
I snagged the bottle of lube and climbed onto the bed, settling myself between his thighs.
He opened them for me.
His cock now stood fully erect as he held it, and his balls, out of the way. He was baring himself for me in a way that made my breath catch. Yes, he was a handsome guy. But what was inside made the real difference. He was a good person. I felt that down to the marrow of my bones.
I coated my fingers with lube and began a slow exploration of him. First one finger. Then a second. Then a scissoring motion. Then, with a twist of my wrist, I brushed my finger over his prostate.
A tear leaked from his eye.
“Oh, baby—”
“Keep going. No one’s ever…please…”
“Okay.” I wanted to kiss the tear away, but that might break him—and me. Instead, I withdrew my fingers, gloved up, applied more lube, and leaned toward him.
He met my gaze as he pulled his knees up and out of the way. “I’m ready.”
I cracked a smile. “I believe you are. You’re also perfect.” I pressed a kiss to his lips. Then I brushed my cock against his entrance.
A grin crossed his face. “I’m thinking you can do better than that.”
I arched an eyebrow. “You going to be bossy?”
“I’m going to be sassy.” Another wicked grin.
Having fun in bed was always a huge turn-on for me, and as I nudged my cock into him, I offered a smile of my own. Slowly, centimeter by centimeter, I pushed myself in. I wasn’t huge, but I was decent sized, and I had the distinct impression it’d been a while for him.
Still, he relaxed slowly and when my head was fully in, he breathed out. “Okay, that was the worst if it, right?”
I nodded. “Yeah. From here on in, I make you feel good.” I continued to push in and, eventually, I was fully seated.
He brushed a hand across my brow. “Make me feel good, Brody. Give me good memories.”
His request nearly broke me, but I also understood what he was saying. Slowly I withdrew, almost to the tip, and then I pressed home again. Over and over I did that, hoping to bring him the pleasure he so richly deserved.
“You can do better than that.” He winked.
Cheesy twit.
“Yeah, okay.” I increased the intensity of the thrusts.
He grunted as I pushed him higher and higher.
I reached between our bodies to snag his cock. With each thrust, I tugged—trying to bring him right along with me as I chased the elusive orgasm.
He wrapped his legs around me and dug his heels into my ass.
I picked up the pace.
“I’m coming. Oh God, I’m…”
He gave me no more words as he shot cum all over my hand and onto my torso.
“Thank fuck.” A couple more thrusts and my own orgasm overtook me. Pleasure shot through me as I stiffened. As I hit one of the best climaxes of my life, I gazed into Robbie’s eyes.
And saw forever.
Which was nuts.
But still…that was what I saw.
