10. Chapter 10

Chapter ten

Ashton

The drive to Black Orchid rehab is quiet. After Maddox and Jinx had told us what they had discussed, we devised a plan and enrolled Maddox in a two-week program. He didn’t feel right leaving for anything longer, not with her stalker still out there and not knowing who killed her dad. Two weeks is better than nothing.

I never thought this would happen. I thought for sure I would’ve seen the signs and would’ve been able to step in before Maddox took a turn. As his friend, I should’ve been there more for him. I failed him. Now, it lands on him to heal without us.

Black Orchid reminds me of a mental hospital. The brick exterior is crumbling from the ivy that decided to take residency along the walls. The window frames are chipping away from years of sun damage. Why are we sending Mad here? This can’t be a working rehab. He’s going to get shock therapy in this place. Do rehabs not get funding to keep their buildings up to code anymore?

“I have a bad feeling about this place, guys.”

Jinx places her hand on my thigh, giving it a gentle squeeze. “He’ll be okay here. It’s the closest one to us, and he can call anytime to get back to us,” she said calmly, giving me a sweet smile.

“I guess. I worry, that’s all.” I watch Maddox. He’s been staring out the passenger window the entire drive. I’m surprised he didn’t fight Atticus when he demanded the car keys. Maddox doesn’t let anyone drive his baby. That’s how I know things are bad.

“Everyone ready?” Atticus quietly asks.

No one replies. I don’t think any of us can ever truly be ready for this, especially Maddox. It’s his life that’s going to change the most. He’s giving up a lot.

“Can I head in alone?” Maddox looks from Atticus to me and, lastly, at Jinx.

Jinx leans forward, placing her hand on Maddox’s shoulder. “Of course. You do what you need to.”

He reaches his hand to hers and opens his door without looking at her. “I’ll see you guys in two weeks.” Grabbing his bag, he leaves without saying another word.

“The fuck, that’s how he’s leaving us.” Atticus fired off, starting the car. He slams it into gear. “Fuck him.”

“Atticus, don’t. It’s his way of processing all of this. I know you’re hurting, too. We’re gonna have to stick together and be a unit. Nothing changes just because he is gone,” Jinx explained.

I know she’s right, but Maddox could’ve at least tried harder. The least he could’ve done was give Jinx a decent goodbye. Then again, it’s Maddox we’re talking about. He never did like goodbyes. I hope this rehab is what he needs and that he comes back whole.

“I didn’t have the chance to explain the Von situation to him.”

“It’ll be worth it when he comes out, Jinx. Good news will be what he’ll need,” I remind her.

She leans her head on my shoulder, resting her hand on my thigh. “It’s only two weeks, and everyone will survive.”

“Fuckin’ rights, Little Grim,” Atticus says. His eyes meet mine from the rearview mirror, and then he glances at Jinx.

I gently shift her hand from my thigh as I trace mine along her stomach, gliding towards the waistband of her leggings.

“Need a distraction, Little Swan?” I dip my hand inside, inching my finger to her clit. I can feel her breath on my neck when I press against it. “Relax, don’t think so much. Let me take care of you.”

I make small, slow circles until her hips mock the same movement. She spreads her legs wider, a silent plea for more, and who am I to say no to her? With a little more pressure, her head rolls off my shoulder, and that sweet moan I love hearing spills from her lips.

“Ash, I need more.”

I glance back at Ace, and he nods, pulling over to the side of the road.

“Alright, but it has to be fast. Lay your head in my lap.” She moves into position as Atticus opens the passenger door with his jeans already unbuttoned.

“You get me, Jinx.” Atticus slides his hands along her legs, dipping his fingers into the waistband of her leggings, and slips them halfway down her things. Atticus kneels on the seat, lifting her legs onto his shoulders.

“Please, Atticus. I need you.”

I don’t think I’ve ever heard those words from Jinx. She reaches her hand for my waistband but stops. When her eyes reach mine, I know what she’s asking. With a deep inhale, I unzip my jeans and slip my dick out. I wrap my hand in her hair, turning her how I want her. I check out Atticus; he smacks his dick against her pussy, I shove my dick into her mouth, and Atticus slams into her.

Her throat tightens, sending shockwaves through me. I’m still not used to being touched, but if I don’t think about it, my mind won’t go to the darkness. I have to remind myself it’s Jinx and no one else. I push her face further down until her nose touches my stomach.

“Fuck, just like that. How does it feel to have both of us inside of you at the same time?” I pull her back, watching my dick slip out of her mouth. A haze of hunger swam in her eyes.

“I think she likes it, brother.” Atticus drives in deeper, moving her higher across my thigh.

Her mouth drops open, and I take the chance to shove my dick back in. Closing my eyes, I forget about everything. It’s a fantasy world. There is no stalker after Jinx, and Maddox isn’t in rehab. For now, I’m living in pure bliss, and nothing, I mean absolutely nothing, is wrong.

“Come for me, Little Grim, squeeze the shit out of my dick.”

Jinx moans around me, and I fight the urge to spill down her throat. I slide my hand across her throat, giving it a tight squeeze, holding her in place; then I turn to Atticus and grin.

“Make her come.”

He spreads her legs as wide as they can go and gives her pussy a hard smack. Her muffled scream turns to a moan when Atticus quickly thrusts into her roughly.

“Oh, shit.” Ace drives in deep. “Yes, Little Grim. Just like that.”

Pleasure rolls through her body, and she doesn’t fight it. I roll my hips, taking my pleasure and spilling everything I have down her throat.

The car fills with silence as we take the moment to collect ourselves. Guilt tries to take over. We’re out here enjoying ourselves while Maddox is now locked in that horrible place, trying to fix himself. It’s not fair. How is any of this fair?

“We should get back. The coach wants to have a meeting with the team this afternoon.”

“Fuck Bran, he’s a dick, just like coach was. Nothing changes in this school.” Atticus drops Jinx’s legs and tucks himself back into his pants. We both watch him leave the back of the car like nothing.

“Here, let me help you. Ace was never good with aftercare.” I button my pants up before helping Jinx up. “You okay?”

“I’m perfect, what about you?” She reaches out, cupping my cheek. “It was a lot for you, wasn’t it?” She studies my face for any remorse. She leans up, pressing her lips to mine when she finds none. “Thank you, Ashton.”

I narrow my brows in confusion. “For what?”

“For trusting me.” She moves away, fixing her pants just as Atticus jerks open the front door.

“Ready, losers?” he asks as he starts the car.

A burst of laughter poured from me, leaning forward to punch his shoulder. “You’re the only loser, drive dickhead.”

Jinx laughs lightly, cuddling into my side. I haven’t seen her this carefree in a while, and I would give anything to make it last. Unfortunately, it'll be gone once we cross those gates back into RWA. The stalker will be there, and we won’t have Maddox. God knows what else awaits us.

If we don’t figure out this stalker problem soon, it will only worsen. Breaking into her dorm is only the beginning of his derangement. I don’t want to think of what he’s capable of, and it’s annoying how he won't tell her where her dad’s heart is. The one piece that would give her closure, if that sick psycho did something to Prescott, I’ll be the first person to drive a knife through his chest.

My chest sinks as we cross the gates back onto the school's property, and reality sinks in. I keep telling myself it’s two weeks, and Maddox will be back. If shit gets bad, he will call for a rescue mission. One thing at a time, for now, it’s a stupid swim meeting.

“Jinx, you’re gonna have to come with us. I don’t want you alone.” I sweep a chaotic piece of hair from her face. “Don’t argue, please.”

“What do you expect me to do the entire time?”

Atticus snorts. “Check me out. It wouldn’t be the first time. At least now you don’t have to look ashamed while you do it.”

Her jaw drops. “I—You. Shut up.”

“Yeah, that’s what I thought. Not very good with the comebacks, are ya?”

“I’m not staring at you, Atticus. Maybe I’m staring at everyone else.”

He slams on the brakes, and we hit the back of the seats. He swings around, grabbing Jinx's hair and cranking her neck to the side.

“If I see you looking at another man, you’ll quickly learn who you belong to. Got it?” he spoke coldly, that I even got goosebumps.

I watch the lump in her throat as she tries to swallow.

“Atticus. I swear there isn’t anyone else besides the three of you.”

He shoves her back and starts driving again. I knew he was possessive, but this was a little much; even then, again, I can’t say much. If she even looked at someone else, I would lose my fucking mind.
