Epilogue #3

“But I am going to be your wife, Kayden,” I insist. “And I promised to love all of you, the good and the bad. Even if Devon was the bad side of you, I still felt drawn to you back then. And if that’s the nickname you came up with now, there must be a reason for it, too.

I’m not choosing to avoid the past and the wrongs; I’m choosing to embrace them.

And that nickname is part of it. I love it. ”

His eyes light up. “And I love you.”

My chest flutters, a million butterflies spreading through it. It’ll never cease to amaze me, the way he makes me feel whenever those three simple words spring free of his lips.

“Talking about love”—he cackles—“we’ve gotten off track again. I was going to fuck you senseless in the confessional.”

“About that…” I bite my bottom lip. “There’s something I need to tell you.”

“What is it, my wife?”

I giggle. “We might want to slow down on the hardcore fucking.”

“Too much for you?”

“No. I—I love it.” My cheeks flame.

Kayden’s smirk won’t wipe off his face.

“It’s just that…I think we should be a bit more careful now.”

“Why?”

“My body isn’t what it used to be.” That’s the only way I can think of saying it without actually saying it.

“You’re talking like you’re old.” He scoffs. “Come on, my wife. You can take it. You take me so fucking well. What are you talking about?”

“Well.” I pause, the words at the tip of my tongue, trapped. “I’m not old, but…”

He pulls me closer, running a hand over my face, then my shoulders, to my hips, instinctively landing on my stomach. “You look fine to me.”

As he’s about to trace his hand lower, I stop him, grabbing his hand between mine and leaving it on my belly.

“I’m fine, I’m just…”

His eyes widen, and I feel his hands tensing.

A chill runs down my spine.

“No way. No. Don’t tell me you’re…” He pauses. “Pregnant?”

I nod. “We never used a condom. I never wanted to with you. I wasn’t concerned with the consequences.”

“How long have you known?”

“I’m six weeks along, but I only found out last week.” The smile escapes my lips inevitably. “You’re going to be a dad.”

“Maddy…” Kayden pulls his hand off mine, stepping away for a second. “This is…”

“Amazing? We’re going to have a mini-you.” My face lights up with the thought.

“Terrifying.” His face falters, causing my chest to churn.

This is not the reaction I expected from him.

“You don’t want this?”

“No.” He stops. “It’s not that. Fuck. It’s just, I—” He’s holding back, his face darkening. His jaw tightens. “I—I don’t know if I can be a good father.”

“Kayden.” I step toward him, pulling him closer again. “I know you’re going to be a good father.”

“How do you know? I’m so fucked up…I’m not sure if I’m built for it.”

“You’ve been through hell and rose from the ashes, that’s how I know. That’s why you’ll be so perfect. You’re going to give this kid so much love. You’ll be an amazing father, you hear me?”

I grab his hand and place it over my belly again.

His words get caught, and he swallows. His expression shifts. His shoulders fall, and he relaxes.

A half-smile slowly appears on the corner of his mouth.

“I think you’re right, baby.” He nods. “Yes. I’m going to cherish that little boy or girl until the end of my life.

” He stares into my eyes, our connection deepening as he rubs my belly with soft strokes.

The sensation sending electricity jolts to my thighs.

“Fuck. God, I can’t believe it. I’m going to be a dad. ”

“And I’m going to be a mom.”

“Our own little family.”

“The family we chose.”

I nod, a vision forming in my head already, our future life together, and warmth spreads through my entire body. “I promise I’ll take good care of you, my wife.”

“We’ll take care of each other.”

He brings his hand to the back of my neck, rubbing his thumb over it.

“Talking about taking care of each other. You’re right.

We should be more careful from now on. Maybe the confessional isn’t the safest idea.

But, nothing can prevent me from delighting myself in my wife’s pussy in our very own car, right? ”

“Car sex?” I ask. “That sounds so unsafe.”

“Not if I push down the seats to the back and it’s only me eating your pussy until you come all over my face.”

The naughty words make me bite down a moan. My pussy yearns with desire.

Fuck, this man.

“What do you say? We’ll pull over somewhere, and I’ll take care of my future baby’s mom the way she needs.”

He doesn’t need to say it twice.

I grab his arm, intertwine his hand with mine, and make him face me. Trying to act like I’m just holding his hand when, in reality, I carefully thread it underneath my skirt. Let him slip his fingers at the seam of my underwear and feel how wet I am.

“This is what I think.”

He lets out a deep breath. “Let’s get the fuck out of here.”

We walk out of the church, our minds filled with a thousand thoughts and blurred with lust.

Heading to our new life, making up for lost time. Kayden and I may have started on the wrong foot the first time we met—but we’re perfect for each other now—and I can’t wait to share forever with him.
