44. Valentina #2

He does, hands holding me firmly at the hips while he stops himself from driving upward. I stay around him until the contraction in his body eases.

Max kisses my shoulder. “I believe the legal department has concluded.”

Calder opens his eyes. “You’re only next if she decides you are.”

“I know. Still worth it.”

I lift off Calder and give him room to remove the condom. Moreno hands him the towel without comment. I take water from the nightstand, drink, then pass it to Max.

“Your turn,” I say.

He nearly chokes. “Excellent hydration strategy.”

I turn onto my hands and knees near the middle of the bed. “Behind me.”

Max comes into position with the condom already on, then waits with one hand at my hip.

“Moreno, in front.”

Moreno kneels near the headboard. I wrap my hand around his cock and pull him closer while Max rubs the head of his cock between my folds.

“Ready?” Max asks.

“Yes. Slow first.”

He pushes into me gradually. I lower onto my forearms and take Moreno into my mouth at the same time, which forces everyone to slow enough that the choreography stays mine. Moreno keeps both hands on the headboard instead of my hair until I look up at him.

“Hair is fine,” I say after releasing him. “Do not push.”

His hand moves to the back of my head. “I know.”

Max enters the rest of the way once I press back. His first few thrusts are shallow because I am already sensitive. I take Moreno deeper only when Max’s rhythm settles.

Calder lies beside me now, one hand sliding beneath my chest to support me when my arms start tiring. He kisses my shoulder, then moves his fingers between my thighs when I shift enough to give him access.

“Not my clit,” I say. “Too much.”

His hand changes direction immediately and cups my breast instead.

Max laughs softly behind me. “I appreciate that everybody receives performance notes.”

I release Moreno long enough to say, “You are about to receive one involving silence.”

“Understood.”

He does not stay silent, but his talking loses the jokes when the pace increases. Max tells me when he is close instead of turning the moment into a command. I push back harder because I want him there.

“Come,” I tell him.

He does several strokes later, one hand leaving my hip to brace against the bed so he does not drag me backward with him. He pulls out only after I move forward.

Moreno is still hard in my hand.

He looks at me. “Enough?”

The question matters because he wants me and because wanting me has never been permission to assume my body will continue indefinitely.

I sit back on my heels and assess what I actually want. My muscles are tired. I am sensitive. I am also not finished with him.

“On your back,” I say.

Moreno moves to the center of the bed. I climb over him and lie along his body instead of immediately taking him. Max removes his condom and disappears into the bathroom to clean up. Calder brings the water closer. Nobody rushes the transition.

I kiss Moreno until my breathing settles. His hands stay on my back.

“Tell me if you are sore,” he says.

“I am sore.”

“Stop?”

“No. Different.”

I reach for the lubricant, put some into my palm, and stroke him slowly over the condom. Moreno closes his eyes. I keep going until the tension in his abdomen changes.

“You do not have to penetrate me because everybody else did,” I say.

“I know.”

“Good.”

I shift down his body, wipe the excess lubricant from the condom, and take him into my mouth. Moreno’s hand returns to my hair only after I place it there. I use my mouth and hand together, changing pressure when his hips start to move, and he warns me before he comes.

I keep going.

His orgasm hits without theatrics, his hand tightening once in my hair before he releases it deliberately. I draw back, remove the condom for him, tie it off, and toss it toward the bin. It misses.

Max returns from the bathroom and looks at the condom on the floor. “Domestic harmony destroyed.”

“Pick it up,” I tell him.

“Why me?”

“Because you found your voice again.”

He picks it up.

Cleanup happens without turning any of us into different people. Calder brings a warm cloth that I use myself, Moreno changes the sheet where lubricant spilled, and Max returns with water and crackers. I eat two because refusing them would make him correct once by accident.

We end up across the bed with no one dressed properly and Calder’s tablet between us.

“This is a terrible pillow,” I say when the corner presses into my thigh.

“You told us to put the investigation away,” Calder reminds me.

“That was before sex. The statute has expired.”

Max points at him. “She has learned legal language. This is your fault.”

We return to the hidden subsidiaries because the work is still there and intimacy does not require a declaration afterward.

Calder restores the ownership charts, Max keeps social connections separate from corporate authority, Moreno marks the companies touching private security, and I identify work Mercer valued without pretending that proves who ordered criminal use.

“That branch could support identity services,” I say, tapping one licensing cluster. “It could also be boring corporate infrastructure with an expensive name.”

Calder asks, “Which do you believe?”

“The first.”

“Which can we prove?”

“The second is still possible.”

Max says, “Progress. She hates the answer and gave it anyway.”

“I can still hit you from here.”

“We have already established that.”

We keep the possibilities separate instead of turning suspicion into a breakthrough the records have not earned.

The tablet moves to Max. My head ends up on Calder’s thigh. One of my legs crosses Moreno’s stomach, and Max rests a hand on my ankle while he reads through executive biographies. Nobody arranged us this way. We shifted until the positions worked.

I am still listening when Calder asks Moreno about a security director. I mean to answer Max when he says the man attended two of the same private retreats. My eyes close before I find the words.

The next thing I know, morning has turned the edge of the closet door pale.

I wake in the shared bed with three men around me. My clothing is still in the section I chose yesterday. The black shirt I brought here myself hangs where I left it. My knife rests beside Calder’s gun, moved only to the position I selected.

For several seconds, I do nothing except remain where I am.

Peace has never been the part of my life I know how to trust. I trust the open door, the key to the room down the hall, the weapons within reach, and the fact that nobody asks what sleeping here means.

That is enough to let the morning stay ordinary.
