Epilogue
Avalon
Ilean back on the couch, sighing happily before looking out the window.
It’s winter now, and the snow falls in a perfect white blanket over the trees and ground, covering everything in a layer of white frosting.
But I’m as toasty as a cinnamon bun in my comfy sweatsuit, my hair up in a messy ponytail, and a cup of hot cocoa in my hand.
Of course, I’m as big as a beach ball now too, and it’s because I’m in my third trimester. Our baby is going to be born in the next month or so, and I’m excited. So is Liam, and at that moment, the door opens as the alpha male staggers in with an armful of chopped wood in his hands.
“Wow,” I say, truly amazed. “That’s a lot of timber.”
He drops the logs into a basket by the fireplace before coming over to press a kiss to my cheek.
Liam’s as gorgeous as ever, although he looks like a wild mountain man now that we live up at the cabin.
His black hair has been allowed to grow, and he sports a thick bushy beard.
Plus, my man has filled out even more from the constant activity, and those shoulders seem as wide as a bus, his powerful chest thick and burly.
It even seems like his dick has grown longer and stronger, and I’m the lucky lady who gets the benefit of such a magnificent axe.
Still, my boyfriend can be a worry wart as he towers over me.
“Are you warm enough?” he asks, staring at my mountainous form beneath the plaid blanket.
“Liam, if I get any warmer, I’m going to explode,” I laugh. “Trust me, I’m practically a volcano at this point.”
“Okay,” he says with a grin, white teeth flashing as his blue eyes gleam. “I just want my girl to be safe, warm, and happy.”
“Oh, I’m happy,” I say, throwing my arms around his neck for a kiss. “Couldn’t be happier, in fact.”
It’s true too because after the confrontation we had at my apartment, I moved back into his mansion.
But it didn’t feel like home anymore. I’m not sure what it was: the vast, echoing rooms, or the fact that I’m nesting, and needed something cozier and more snug.
As a result, we did some house-hunting, but in the end, I wanted to move back to the cabin where we met, and Liam assented.
He had contractors do some renovations first, but within a month or two, we both moved up here, to Mount Tamalo, and it’s been wonderful.
Liam goes to the farmer’s market to buy fresh groceries every morning, and he had satellite installed so that we’re hooked up to the outside world.
But I don’t need the outside world because I have my man, and with a baby on the way, things feel absolutely perfect.
Still, I want to make sure that my boyfriend’s not going stir-crazy away from civilization.
“Are you okay?” I ask as the handsome man rises, his head almost brushing the ceiling. “Are you connected and able to get all your meetings in over Zoom?”
Liam grins.
“Yeah, don’t worry, sweetheart. My business is fine, and honestly, the EV car company can run itself. I have a lot of good people working for me, and they don’t need daily supervision.”
I nod.
“And how do you feel about resigning as CEO of your rocket ship company? I know that you founded it and it’s your baby, so it was a big step to let it go.”
My man shrugs, his expression rueful.
“Honestly? It was time. Again, being CEO of two corporations simultaneously isn’t a good idea, and the stress was driving me out of my mind.
Plus, I want to focus on us,” he says in a serious tone before pressing one big hand to my belly.
“You’re having my child, and you and the baby are my first priority. ”
“At least for now,” I say with a loving smile at my boyfriend. “You know how kids are. They grow so fast, and before you know it, they’re teens who want nothing to do with you. Like all good parents, we’ll have to step back and give them the freedom to fly on their own.”
“Yes, but that’s eighteen years down the line, and right now, our baby has yet to be born,” Liam growls before pressing another kiss to my plush pout.
“Besides, don’t think you’re going to get off so easy, sweetheart,” he says with a glint in those blue eyes.
“I plan on having more children, so get ready to be continuously pregnant for oh, about five years or so.”
“Five years means two more children. Three, max,” I smile.
“Yeah,” Liam growls. “I’ve been working with my therapist, and I think I could have more because I’ve pared down my work schedule, and I’m in a good place mentally.
Plus, I like seeing you pregnant, baby girl,” he rasps, his big hand traveling up my thigh.
“You in lingerie is always a delicious sight, but you with a pregnant belly in lacy panties and a bra? Damn, I become an animal, sweetheart.”
I laugh.
“You’re such a beast, Mr. Carrington,” I giggle. “An absolute wild man.”
“You know it,” he rasps before lighting up for a moment, as if remembering something. Then, Liam strides to the kitchen before coming back with something hidden behind his back.
“What is it?” I ask with a smile. “Let me guess. The farmer’s market finally had that pumpkin apple cinnamon strudel you’ve been rhapsodizing about, and you saved me a small morsel.”
My boyfriend shakes his head.
“No, guess again.”
I smile whimsically.
“They had those wooden bird houses you’ve been describing, with different size perches for different size birds, and even a special feeder for bees in the summer.”
Liam grins.
“No, although we should get that before the weather changes. I know you love animals, sweetheart, and I’m sure the baby would get a kick out of the birds and bees.”
I giggle.
“Okay, what is it then? I’m out of guesses.”
Liam brings his hands around to show me, and my eyes go round.
“Oh my god, the blue eggs! And the purple Japanese yams! They had them at the market finally!”
My huge mountain man nods before leaning in to press a kiss to my plush pout.
“Yes, after a couple of weeks, I was finally able to track these babies down, and I want you to enjoy them, Avalon,” he rasps.
“You are the love of my life, and our relationship began here, on Mount Tamalo. It’s only right that the mountain feeds and nourishes us, especially now with a baby on the way. ”
I throw my arms around his massive shoulders.
“Of course, because you’re my mountain man,” I whisper against his lips. “I was gifted to you, but in the end, you belong to me.”
Liam kisses me, his big hands smoothing over my bulging belly.
“We belong to each other, Avalon,” he says in a hoarse voice filled with emotion, those blue eyes glinting. “Forever.”
With those words, our lips meld in a blend of passion, happiness, and sheer joy. But then, I pull away and look at my boyfriend.
“Did I tell you about Marnie, actually?”
Liam’s distracted as he pulls my sweatshirt up before kissing the mound of my belly.
“What, honey? I’m sorry, you’re just so goddamn sexy like this.”
I giggle before becoming serious.
“Well, my friend’s starting a new job at a law firm, but my spidey sense is telling me that something’s off, Liam.”
The mountain man nods, moving down my belly and towards the humid heat of my sweetness.
“She’s a paralegal, right?”
“Yes,” I nod as he begins to pull down my sweatpants. “Marnie wants info about her dad’s death, but I think the lawyers are acting shady around her.”
“Mmm?” Liam murmurs as he stares at my puffy pussy lips, my clit already poking out. He rubs the underside of the hard nub with one big finger before giving it a pinch, and I shudder, already beginning to lose my train of thought.
“I just think that Marnie’s being blackmailed,” I breathe. “Maybe not blackmailed, but the two partners at the law firm are … well, I think they’re forcing her to do lewd acts in exchange for information.”
That gets my handsome boyfriend’s attention, except not in the right way. Liam merely grins before lowering his head to lick hotly through my wet slit, making me gasp with pleasure.
“That sounds like a fair exchange,” he rumbles. “Lewd acts with a beautiful young girl? What’s wrong with that?”
“Oh my god, you’re so bad!” I squeal as Liam kisses my sweetest spot again, making me cry out. Then, all thoughts of Marnie and her two handsome bosses at Gibson, Grant fly from my head because the mountain man is my here and now, and with Liam at my side … anything is possible.
