Chapter 29 Mia

“Fuck!”

I panted heavily as I collapsed on top of my husband.

The sun was barely up, but we were wide awake, going at it like rabbits. Somebody was going to curse us out when they woke up because while I tried to keep quiet, this man’s dick was so damn good that I couldn’t. It didn’t matter that I was on top, he was still doing the fucking.

“You tapping out on me, mamas?” he asked, rubbing my ass.

“I need a break,” I grumbled.

I was finally coming down from the high of last night. When we got back here, I drug my husband upstairs, stripped down, and made him take me in the shower. I just had to have him. Even after what I’d just done, I had to have him. Was I a sick bitch for that? Maybe, maybe not.

“Want me to run your shower?” he asked as I sat up.

“I’ve got it.”

“Ima gonna catch a quick nap.”

I smirked as I lifted myself off him. He slid out of me with an audible plop. His dick rested heavily against his abs. Leaning down, I fisted it as I sucked the combination of our juices from it before letting go.

“Mmm,” I moaned, licking my lips.

“Nasty ass.”

“You love it.”

“Fuck yeah, I do.”

He sat up, and I pecked his lips before climbing out of bed and heading into the bathroom.

Thirty minutes later, I was out, moisturized, and dressed in a pair of black joggers and matching tank top.

Titan was snoring lightly as I left the room and made my way downstairs.

I could hear voices in the kitchen, so I followed them and found our parents sitting at the table having coffee.

“Good morning,” I said as I walked in.

They all looked at me and shook their heads.

“Y’all aren’t home, you know,” my father said. “And none of us wanna hear that.”

“That’s for sure,” my mother agreed.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I said, walking over to the coffee machine. “Everything went okay with the girls last night?”

“Everything went fine. We saw the news this morning. You really did a number on that girl.”

I turned to face them with a coffee mug in my hands. “I did what needed to be done. She’s just the first of many.”

The doorbell rang, causing my head to jerk toward the security monitor perched in the corner.

I released a heavy sigh when I saw it was only Nolan.

Taking my coffee with me, I went to answer the door.

When I opened it, Nolan was standing there with a smile on his face and a box of donuts in his hand.

“Good morning, Mrs. DeLuca.”

“You can call me Mia, Nolan.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

I shook my head as I opened the door to allow him in. “You’re here early.”

“Quaid wanted to get a head start on things for today.”

“He’s probably already in the office area. Come on.”

I closed the door and led him down the hall to where he and Quaid had everything set up.

Sure enough, my brother-in-law was in there on the phone with my sister.

I smiled as he spoke softly to my nephew while Jaeda rubbed her belly.

Bleu was resting on the pillow beside her.

When she noticed us walking in, she smiled.

“Hey, sissy,” she said.

“Hey, boo.” I bent over to hug Quaid, and he instantly looked back at me.

“That’s new.”

I mushed his head. “I won’t hug you anymore, damn.”

He chuckled and pulled me in for a side hug. “It’s cool, sis. You just caught me off guard. I was expecting a punch in the arm or some shit like your bully ass brothers.”

I giggled. “My brothers love you. Don’t let them fool you.”

“I know they do. It just takes a little liquor in their system to admit it.”

“They love to pretend to be so damn hard,” Jaeda said. “They are big ass softies at heart.” She shook her head. “I’m about to get some rest, baby. Call me later.”

“I will. I love you.”

“I love you too.”

“I love you, sissy.”

“I love you too. Give my baby some love for me.”

“I will.”

They disconnected the call, and Quaid went back to pulling up everything after greeting Nolan. He took a seat and got right to work too.

“What do we have today?” I asked, pulling up a chair.

Quaid turned to face me. “There’s a gala tonight. I’m surprised they’re still having it after the mini massacre of last night.”

I smirked. “All in a day’s work. Who’s all gonna be there?”

“A lot of DuPont’s clients, professional and personal.”

“Good. I guess I should go do a little dress shopping because I’m going. You said we have the locations of his victims, right?”

“Yep.”

“Good. While me, Titan, and my brothers show face at the gala, I want the others to grab as many people as they can.”

Quaid nodded. “I’ll brief them on that. What are you gonna do with him?”

I shook my head. “Nothing yet. I just want him to know that I’m alive and I’m coming for him. Do you have the locations of his kids?”

“No, but I can get them.”

Nolan tapped hard on the keyboard. “Already done. I took the liberty of tapping their phones. I did a little digging into them and found out both of his kids are involved with the underground shit too. I was able to trace the IP address of the website he uses to his son. The little fucker is an amateur at best with the tech shit. Smart, but not as smart as me and Quaid. As for his daughter, she manages the client list. All outside bookings go through her encrypted email.”

I smirked. “A man who’s ahead of the game. I like that. Have my parents snatch them up. Since they want to run a family business, we’ll just make this a family affair.”

I couldn’t wait to see the look on JacQues’ face when he saw me. A bitch was back from the dead and gunning for his ass.

THE GALA

“Damn, baby.”

I smiled at my husband in the mirror as he admired me from behind.

We’d gone into town earlier to find something I'd wear for tonight. I’d settled on a champagne-colored sequin strapless mermaid style gown.

My titties sat up perfectly, and it curved over my ass.

It was just long enough to cover the gun holstered to my ankle.

I wanted JacQues to clearly see my face, so I opted to pull my curls into a sleek top knot.

I added a simple diamond necklace, studs, and a bracelet to accessorize.

Even if I wasn’t trying to, I looked damn good.

“You like?” I asked, doing a twirl.

“Hell yeah.” He came up behind me and kissed my neck. “Are you gonna keep the heels on for me later?”

I giggled as he nipped at my earlobe. “I’ll see what I can do.” I turned in his arms and pecked his lips. “You ready?”

“I wish we could end him tonight, but I’m following your lead, mamas.”

“He’ll be ours soon enough. We’re gonna have a good time once we catch him. We haven’t fucked someone up together in a long time.”

“Too long. You know that shit gets me excited.”

I laughed. “Crazy ass.”

“Only about you, baby.”

We shared a kiss that went from innocent to nasty in a matter of seconds. We were getting into it when a loud knock beat against our door.

“Hurry the fuck up!” Deuce yelled. “We don’t have time for whatever y’all are in there doing.”

Titan smirked as he went over to open the door. My brother stood there with a frown.

“You cranky as hell, my nigga. Don’t worry, we’re gonna get you back to Salima soon.”

“Oh, I know. Cause if y’all start bullshitting, I’m gonna start shooting every damn body.”

I shook my head as I walked over to the door.

“Deucy—”

“The fuck you just call me, Jigsaw? Only my wife calls me that, and I don’t even like the shit then. Find you something safe to do, Mia.”

I laughed as I reached out to pinch his cheeks.

“Aww, Mr. Grumpy Pants.”

He slapped my hands away. “Don’t ever do that shit again. I’m not that damn mutt you call a dog.”

I mushed his head. “Don’t talk about my baby. She’s not a mutt.”

“She is a mutt and the reason my wife made me promise to bring her and the kids a damn Frenchie back. I could have gotten her one at home, but no. She wants one from here. Now I have to ride back with that little fucker.”

I rolled my eyes. “Deuce, please. You were gonna get the dog no matter what because Salima asked. Pussy whipped ass.”

I brushed past him and headed for the stairs with Titan on my heels.

When I made it to the bottom, my brothers were all dressed in suits while the others were dressed to kill.

My grandfather called me earlier to let me know he’d dispatched twenty additional team members just in case we needed them.

They were all standing here with my family, ready to go.

Booker grinned as we reached the bottom step. “Doesn’t my future stepdaughter look nice?”

“Booker, please don’t make me break your arm for real,” I said.

He laughed. “You think I’m playing?”

He inched closer to my mama and kissed her cheek, prompting her to put him in a headlock.

“If you wanna make it back home, keep your fucking lips to yourself,” she threatened.

“I love when you talk dirty to me,” he said when she released him.

“Thirsty, bitch,” DaVinchi muttered, shaking his head. “Y’all ready to get this show on the road?”

“I’m ready.” I stared at them all for a moment.

“Y’all know I don’t get sentimental and shit, but I really appreciate you all being here.

I wear a lot of blame for why we’re here.

I own that. But I’m here to correct my fuck up.

JacQues DuPont took something very special from us,” I said, grabbing Titan’s hand. “I want it back in blood.”

“We’re with you, baby,” Smoke said. “Whatever you need.”

“Everybody strapped?”

Nothing but the sound of guns clicking could be heard.

I smiled. “Let’s go.”

We headed out and filed into multiple blacked out SUVs.

Quaid and Nolan got into the mobile tech van while the remainder of the crew piled into the passenger vans.

We pulled out of the driveway and headed for the city.

Everyone had their assignments, so once we hit city limits, we all went in separate directions.

When we pulled up at the gala’s venue, the place was already packed. Camera crews and reporters gathered out front. I watched as Quaid and Nolan pulled up in a van across the street.

“Is he here yet?” I asked, touching my earpiece.

“His location says he’s about twenty minutes away,” Quaid said.

“Good. That gives us time to scope out the place and be discreet. Let’s go.”

We filed out of the van. Hand in hand, Titan and I made our way up to the entrance with my brothers right behind us.

When we walked in, my eyes immediately scanned the space for the exits.

After heading to the bar to grab a drink, we took up residence in a corner in the back so we could see the entire space.

My eyes were trained on the door, waiting for JacQues to enter.

While everyone around me was talking, my gaze was laser focused.

I felt his presence before I saw him.

The hair on the back of my neck stood. My breathing hitched and my eye began to twitch. I felt my face growing hot and my palms growing sweaty. When he stepped into the room, a deep growl rumbled in my throat. I felt an arm come around me. That’s when I realized I’d started moving in his direction.

“Not here,” Deuce said, moving in front of me. “Take some deep breaths. Reel it back in, baby. We’re gonna get him.”

He pulled me into his chest and wrapped his arms around me.

I closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths.

I wanted nothing more than to air this bitch out right here and now, but I had to be patient.

When he let me go, I turned to look at Titan, who was sitting in a chair with Smoke and Steel blocking him.

From the fire in his eyes, I could tell he was on the same type of time.

I walked over to him, and my brothers parted, allowing me closer.

Stopping in front of him, I cupped his face.

No words needed to be exchanged as I kissed his lips.

He nodded when I pulled away. His fingers traced the matching tattoos we had for our baby girl.

It was a silent reminder of why we were here.

“We got this,” I whispered.

“We got it.”

We pulled ourselves together, put our game faces on, and focused on business.

The gala got going, and we watched JacQues mix and mingle with different people.

He and his wife worked the room like a happy couple, but I could see in that bitch’s face that she was miserable.

She’d been tossing back drinks all night and had started stumbling.

I watched as JacQues reprimanded her with a smile on his face before going up on stage to give a speech.

That was my cue to make my presence known.

“Change of plans,” I said. “Smoke, get the wife. Charm that drunk bitch.”

He grinned. “I got it.” He tapped the breast pocket of his suit. “I brought a little something just in case.”

Knowing Smoke, this nigga had a drug that would knock that bitch out in a matter of seconds. That’s why it paid to have a brother who specialized not just in weapons, but in chemical warfare as well.

“Good evening, everyone. I just wanted to say a few words before I let you get back to enjoying the festivities. As you all know, this gala is very near and dear to my heart. The charity efforts go to several orphanages in the city. It’s no secret that I, myself, grew up in the system.

Unlike many people with my same circumstances, I was fortunate enough to make it out… ”

As he spoke, my brothers and I made our way up to the front. JacQues was so busy smiling and talking that he wasn’t even paying attention. It wasn’t until I was standing right in the very front that his eyes finally met mine and he began to stammer and stutter over his words.

I stood there with a smirk on my face, my husband at my side and my brothers at our backs.

“I uh…um…”

His eyes didn’t leave mine as he tried to gather himself. I cocked my head to the side and motioned for him to hurry the fuck up.

“I’m sorry. I lost my train of thought,” he said, finally pulling his gaze away. “Must be too many free drinks tonight.”

The crowd rumbled with laughter.

“Anyway. Thank you all for coming out tonight. I hope you’re having a great time.”

He bid goodbye to the crowd before quickly exiting the stage.

I watched as he searched the crowd for his wife, but by now, Smoke had her tucked away in our car.

She hadn’t hesitated to disappear with him.

I mean, my brother was a handsome man and was known for charming the panties off women.

She probably thought she was going to get lucky when all she got was knocked out and snatched up.

We navigated through the crowd of people to where JacQues stood with security in the back. He was sternly talking to them. When he saw us getting close, he quickly walked off, yelling for them to follow him. We took our time exiting the ballroom.

He didn’t have to worry about us coming after him tonight.

I did what I set out to do. He knew I was alive, and by the look on his face, he knew he wouldn’t be much longer.
