15. FIFTEEN
FIFTEEN
Colton
I peel off my sticky sweatpants and switch on the shower, groaning at the memory of Natalia’s heavy, milky breasts in my hands. The weight of them, and the taste!
It’s pretty normal for bovine shifters to drink from their mates. Cow shifters make so much milk it’s often required.
It still felt hot and a little bit dirty. And the stimulation of having her breasts in my face coupled with the grind of her needy little pussy made me lose control.
It was just too damn sexy watching her come apart.
That was a lot of firsts. First time drinking from my mate; first time seeing Natalia cum, though I hope to all the gods it’s not the last. First time cumming in my pants, completely unable to stop myself.
I’ve never met anyone like her.
I’ve never met anyone that gets me so worked up, whose body is so fucking perfect I could worship her for hours, whose smile feels like winning the league and holding that trophy in my hands.
I think I’m in danger of becoming obsessed.
There’s no doubt in my mind she’s my fated mate. Not after tasting her. I can’t explain it, other than the feeling I’ve just tasted the most perfect flavor in the universe. Something that was perfectly crafted to rope my bull and have him trotting around like a tame pony.
Tonight feels like a door opened. Something I haven’t let myself hope for so soon. If she was a shifter, she would be feeling just as head over heels crazy for me as I do for her. But she’s human. I don’t know how she’ll react.
Still, I know she’s feeling something. It’s obvious in the way she responded to me.
I grin, switching off the water and toweling off. I find a new pair of sweats and climb into bed, still smiling. Even though I’m tired and Jayden might wake me at any time, I know it’s going to be a long time before I can sleep.
All the possibilities run through my mind like little film clips, each one better than the last—family lunches with her by my side, vacations and choosing new tiles for the kitchen and buying her pretty things.
Playing ball with Jayden in the yard while she watches or joins in, being introduced to her family.
I can hardly believe I’ve found her after waiting what feels like my whole life.
When Jayden wakes, instead of going to the kitchen to fetch a bottle, I pick him up and bring him into Natalia’s room. It feels almost sinful to wake her. Her full lips are parted softly in sleep, and her dark brows are relaxed in a beautiful expression of calm.
I shake her gently with my free hand. “Natalia, Jayden’s awake. Do you want to try again?”
She sits, rubbing at her eyes and blinking at us, taking it in. Then she looks down at her chest with a sharp little intake of breath. “They’re so sore and swollen again. Do you think that’s normal?”
I think back over the fifty-something texts my mom sent with information about feeding infants. “Ah, yeah. I think it’s pretty normal at first. It will get better.”
I hand Jayden over, and she tries to arrange him into a position where he can drink from her, but he’s too wriggly. He twists and turns, looking up at me in confusion and starting to cry when she pulls down her top.
I avert my gaze a little, not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable, but at her little sound of frustration, I look back.
Jayden pushes away from her, wriggling and trying to get free, and milk begins to squirt from her nipple, a dark patch forming on her top where milk is leaking from the other side. “Ay, just feed! It’s milk. Aren’t you hungry?”
He starts to cry.
The smell and sight of her with her breast exposed, fertile and literally overflowing with milk is so beautiful I’m chubbing up in my sweats, but I try to ignore it. It feels wrong in this situation, but I can’t help how excited it gets me.
I remember something my mom told me about getting a baby to latch for the first time. It was advice based on a newborn, but it might work.
Stooping, I gather Jayden in my arms with one hand supporting his head. Milk is going everywhere, spraying onto me, Jayden, and the bed. I’m sure we’ll get better at this.
On his next loud wail, I bring his open mouth up against Natalia’s breast, and he stops abruptly.
He makes a funny little muffled sound, and a moment later he stops crying altogether and starts sucking.
Natalia looks up at me with a relieved smile. “He’s doing it!”
When she has taken him from me, I straighten. “You’ve got this. Now what do you need? Can I get you anything?”
She laughs. “About five hundred more towels and more water. I’m so thirsty!”
I bring back a stack of towels and one of the big bottles of water I use for training, setting them beside the bed.
Jayden is tucked up against Natalia, still drinking hungrily. In fact, I’ve never seen him eat so well. Mom was right. This is exactly what he needed.
I help her tuck a new towel against her other breast and hold the bottle for her to have a sip. Then I go to the closet and start looking. “Do you want something else to put on when he’s done? Are you uncomfortable?”
She laughs shyly. “Everything smells like milk. I can’t believe how much there is.”
Jayden lifts his head off Natalia’s breast and turns to glare at me like I’m interrupting a very important meeting. I know where he’s coming from. I am so damn jealous of him right now, but I’m also trying not to think about that.
“Can’t see a problem with that personally,” I say, as she shifts Jayden to the other side.
She rolls her eyes, but there’s a smile on her face. “What about when it turns to sour milk?”
“There’s nothing sour about your milk.” I give her a heated look.
I fetch her a negligée, which is just as small and lacy as the pajamas she has on.
It does nothing to help the state of my arousal until I remember that’s what she has with her because she packed to go on honeymoon with someone else.
Whoever her ex was, he’s an idiot for fumbling this.
Lucky for me, I’ve got the safest hands in the game. I never drop a pass.
I’m going to tie this thing down as soon as she lets me and never, ever look back.
When Jayden is finished, I offer to take him back to bed, but she waves me away. He’s fallen asleep in her arms. “I can do it.”
Instead I change the sheets and fluff her pillows. When she returns wearing the new nightie I have to turn away for a moment and adjust myself. I may never be able to wear sweatpants around her again. Certainly too risky in public.
“Do you need anything else?” My bull hopes she’ll say she needs someone to climb in behind her and spoon her all night, but she shakes her head.
“Thank you. You’re such a natural dad. I didn’t even realize how much help I would need with that. It’s different than a bottle.”
I smile. “You’re doing amazing. Did I tell you that? I’m so, so lucky to have found you.” I want to say more, but she’s already yawning, snuggling down beneath the covers again. Of course she’s tired. Her body has been through a lot.
With regret, I switch off the light and sneak down the hall, back to my own cold bed.
At least she’s in my home, in my life. I can be patient a little longer until it’s the right time to talk to her about everything I’m feeling. Everything I know.
I close my eyes, still thinking about how lucky I am.
