Miss Hayward and the Scandalous Earl

Miss Sophia Hayward meant never to marry, but a large dowry has made the cynical debutante the target of a dangerous scheme.

When she overhears her brother plotting to have her kidnapped to Gretna Green, she understands that the marriage waiting for her could end in her death.

The infamous Earl of Saunton, Lord Richard Balfour, has already offered his courtship, and Sophia begins to consider the scandalous nobleman as the man who might save her from that fate.

Richard cannot put the impudent debutante out of his mind, though a long history of disgraceful affairs leaves him much to atone for before he can earn her esteem.

Their chance at love depends on whether he can become a better man before her brother's plot and his own past close in.
