Chapter 28

Saraswati

DELILAH

If I was being honest, I was a little disappointed that I did not get to relieve any of this lustful ache, but I did enjoy our time in the alley. At least.. I’m pretty sure I did .

Back in our Water Fae facade, we navigated the maze of the business district.

Our feet pounded the opulent shell walkways, but that wasn’t all that was pounding.

Titus had left me in a tangled bunch of sweaty knots; a throbbing pain between my legs would not go away.

I followed him until he stopped in front of a building that looked like a giant upside-down conch shell.

The sign read “Historical Archives of Coralis Falls.”

We walked through the carved arched doorway to see thousands of books lining the walls of the cone-shaped building that spiraled up to a narrow point.

There was a young Water Fae male sitting at a reception desk who greeted us.

His skin tone had a hint of green, which paired nicely with his emerald hair and jagged wings like a grasshopper.

“Hello, welcome to the archives, can I help you?” he asked in a chipper voice.

“Yes, I’m looking for Saraswati,” Titus replied.

“I will mind link her now,” he said with a smile. The Fae here seemed so… pleasant.

Within moments, we heard the clicks of heels on marble approaching, and the sight of Saraswati was one I would never forget.

She was tall, only inches shorter than Titus.

Her hips were wide, her waist narrow, her bust full, her legs so long and silky.

Her hair was a faint lavender color that was shaved on one side just around her heavily pierced ear.

Each earring held sparkling pearls and diamonds that dangled.

The long lavender hair draped sleekly to one side, almost meeting her waist.

Her face was incredibly Fae. The Water Fae’s facial features seemed more delicate and refined than those of the other kinds I’d seen.

She was stunning. Her lips looked so soft and plump.

Her wings resembled those of a moth, displaying a dusty lavender hue and adorned with delicate gray lines woven throughout.

I felt a peculiar pulse in my lower half. My brain and my body seemed to be having an argument; my brain screamed jealousy while my body whispered… arousal? What? This couldn’t be right. I had never… um been into girls. This had to be lingering need from Titus leaving me high and not so dry.

There was no denying she was beautiful though. I guessed I never considered females as an option before. Many of the homes I was placed in were religious, and then when I became an adult I lived in a Catholic charity home, so the very idea of same sex relations was not exactly encouraged.

I was definitely not thinking about what her soft pillowy lips would feel like on mine.

Or how her voluptuous breasts would feel if I squeezed them gently.

Ugh. This was so odd. I was so uncomfortable with my emotions right now.

Was I a lesbian? How could I be a lesbian when I loved dick so much—so bisexual?

... you know what, I wasn’t going to put a label on it… maybe it was just her.

I looked at Titus and I could practically see him drooling.

I didn’t need to have Fae sense of smell to detect his arousal; it was all over his stupid face.

Jealous rage cut me like a knife, and my nails dug into my palms. Didn’t we just become mates last night?

The blistery blob on my chest said we definitely did, but my anger almost instantly vaporized when I realized the hypocrisy.

How could I be mad at him for feeling the exact same thing I was?

She studied us for a moment, retracted her beautiful, unfurled wings delicately down her spine, and she spoke, “Yes, how can I help you?” she asked in the most exotic accent, and it only added to her allure.

“We are looking for information on ancient lineage; I was told you are the expert in… many things.” He said pointedly.

She bunched her pouty lips together and replied, “Hmmm, I think I can help you with that, please step into my office.”

We followed her to her office, and I caught Titus look at her round ass poking out from between her wings as she fluttered in front of us, and I rolled my eyes.

We sat across from her at a giant round white desk that looked like a sand dollar.

She took a seat in a backless chair and cleared her throat before she began to speak.

“Normally, Fae don’t wander in from the street asking about ancient lineage, so, before we get started, why don’t you tell me who you really are because you reek of glamour magic.”

My heart pounded against my chest as panic surged through me.

I swallowed hard and glanced at the High Lord, fear etched on my face as I desperately searched for some indication on what to do or say.

I couldn’t tell how close he was to her—whether they were friends or not—and I wondered if she would turn us in. He gave me a rather unbothered look.

“You always were a know it all, Saraswati,” he stated charmingly.

He used his magic to shut the door and draw the curtain on the window, then he removed his glamour revealing his normal glorious Fire Fae self.

But I did not expect my glamour to be removed, or rather altered.

My hands turned golden tan and shimmered with the faintest gleam, like gold dust was rubbed into my skin, and my sea foam green hair had been replaced with long white waves, just like the descendants of ancient blood, like Aurelius! I was a Fire Fae!

Her eyes widened but she didn’t look surprised, as if this would be a very Titus thing to do.

“I got to hand it to you Titus, you have a lot of balls sneaking into the Kingdom of Seas right now,” she stated in an almost bored tone.

“Saraswati, you sadden me, I thought my balls would have been more… memorable.” He teased with a cocky grin, and I almost choked on my own spit.

She looked at me with a sincere expression, one that almost looked like pity in her mesmerizing lavender eyes, as if she was apologizing to me without words.

“Hmmm, there must not have been much to remember,” she retorted back with a cool, unbothered tone.

Okay, I liked this girl already. She had such an effortless, charismatic way of standing up to Titus’s over-inflated ego, and I fucking loved it. It was clear her confidence far surpassed that of the High Lords, and I admired her for that.

“Besides, I play for the other team these days, who’s your companion?

” She directed her lavender eyes at me with intrigue and bit her bottom lip ever so slightly, and I choked on my saliva for a second time, even more violently than before.

My heart rate increased. Why did I feel a sudden sense of relief?

Was it because she no longer had interest in my mate, or was it because she could possibly be interested in me?

All of my feelings about her confused the hell out of me. I had to just be extremely horny from earlier, right? She was so drop dead gorgeous though. Was I envious? Did I want to be her or did I want to…hook up with her?

Titus broke my jumble of thoughts, providing a much-appreciated pause.

“Did you run out of males to fuck Saraswati?” Titus taunted, but she only responded with a slight glare.

“Are you alright love?” She asked with genuine concern. After I figured out how to breathe again, I replied, “Yes,

sorry, still recovering from a little mishap in the channel.”

“You traveled here by water way? But how? A glamour wouldn’t give you water breathing ability.” She asked curiously.

“Shield projection,” Titus cut in.

“I see, that is a more advanced and uncommon magic, I’m assuming the shield faltered?” she asked.

“We were... practicing. I’m Delilah by the way,” I said with a smile while reaching for her hand. I never knew whether to shake a woman’s hand or not, but in this situation it felt appropriate… but maybe I was just wanting to touch her, make any excuse for physical contact with her.

She happily shook my hand in the very feminine finger clasping way that women do. Her skin was soft; I wondered what kind of hand cream she used.

“Saraswati, head archivist of Coralis Falls, and unfortunately former bed partner of Titus, but don’t worry that was ages ago,” She stated kindly while rolling her eyes as his name left her lips.

“A-hem, Lord Titus, I am a High Lord now you know,” He stated boldly as if to remind us that he was still in the room.

“Apologies, I have something that may help with your shield projection, Lord Titus.” She said professionally but accentuated his title as if to be respectful, but there was just the slightest hint of mockery there. Her slight upturned corner of her mouth was like a language only females could read.

She turned her wrist upward. The door opened briefly as a book glided through the air and landed in her slender fingers adorned with stacks of rings. Then the door closed shut.

“Thank you,” he said as he reached for the book. She shut the book quickly and pulled it away.

“Lord Titus, you know better, nothing is ever free,” she said as she gave him a menacing grin.

“I could just incinerate you right here, but I am a busy Lord so tell me what it is you want Saraswati.” He replied with boredom.

“You won’t because that would be an act of war, a war you cannot win, and besides all I want is to share one glass of wine with your mate while we discuss.” She suggested smoothly, her voice caressed me like silk.

“Oh, I’m not his….” I began to say, thinking this was supposed to be a big secret that no one, especially his enemy, should know.

She held up her flat palm to me, “Save it, I know the smell of burnt flesh, there can only be one reason you have a burn that he didn’t heal nor conceal.”

Jesus, she really was a know it all, in the best possible way. I didn’t even know it couldn’t be healed or glamoured.

Titus groaned in aggravation. “That’s it? A glass of wine?

Why? Are you trying to poison her?”
