Chapter 28 #2
“Oh Guardians, no, I wouldn’t want to get fed to your dragon.” She said pointedly as she raised a brow.
How did she know about what happened at the SkyGuard feast? Was there anything this female did not know? Maybe she was a witch.
“Shame, I liked Prisca, I always felt like she was born in the wrong Kingdom, she would have thrived as a Water Fae, our ideologies are more… mmm…progressive than that of the Fire Fae.” She replied.
“I didn’t come here to discuss politics or my bitch sister, so tell me why you want to drink wine with my mate,” He commanded coldly.
“It’s innocent really, I work long hours and spend most of my time here with dusty books, my only socialization is with Hocks up front and he’s great, but I just really missed female interaction.” She explained innocently.
He glanced at me seeking my approval. I nodded.
“Alright, but whatever you pour her, you will drink first. I’ll have a glass too—not that I distrust you, but let’s be honest our kingdoms are near war, so let’s stop pretending like they aren’t.” Titus replied in his commanding High Lord voice.
She nodded in approval. “I understand,” and three goblets made of sea glass appeared on her sand dollar desk along with a kraft of red wine. She poured herself a glass, took a healthy sip, and gave Titus an innocent smile.
She poured him one and handed it to the High Lord. He smelled it, swirled it around to inhale its heady vapor, then he dipped his finger in to taste. His tense posture immediately relaxed as he handed me the glass and said, “it’s fine.”
“Is this like the wine in the library?” I whispered.
“The aphrodisiac effects are much stronger, so take small sips.” He replied under his breath.
Oh, great. This was a recipe for disaster.
Once we all had a glass, she made a toast to old friends and new, to which we clinked the sea glass and took a drink.
I took the most micro sip possible, and wow, this Faerie wine was no joke.
I did feel a little skeptical. Could she really just be this nice?
Was a female that pretty capable of just being nice?
Something just didn’t add up. There had to be an ulterior motive; I just didn’t know what it was yet.
“Now, for your shield projecting, I have the diary of Lord Velature, he was one of the first Lords of flame after existence divided into six realms, he is not well known, as he was not the most powerful, nor did he win any great battles...” She explained.
“Great, so how is this loser supposed to help me?” Titus interrupted with sarcasm.
“Because Lord Velature was the first ever to project his shield, he practically invented it.” She lit up with enthusiasm, and I could tell she admired history.
She continued, “Lord Velature was not a powerful Lord, but he loved his son fiercely.”
She then began to read from the diary.
~My son, the princeling, to whom I would burn the world for, almost met an early death today at only six years of age.
He is an adventurous one and he knows no fear.
He took a dragon out on his own today while his nanny’s back was turned.
He had planned the entire thing. I heard screaming and rushed out of the strategy tent at Dragons Maw, that’s when Claudia, his nanny told me that he had taken flight on a devil of a dragon.
I called for Veyraxxies and he landed at my feet within seconds, I knew it would be the only way to retrieve him in time.
Once I was airborne, I got eyes on my young son on dragon-back and I quickly caught up to them, but Veyraxxies startled the squirrelly dragon which flung my son right off his back headed straight for one of the lava pools below.
I panicked, my heart crushed and I felt a need to protect what I loved, even if it meant sacrificing myself, I felt a surge of power explode through me and I directed it at my son in attempt to somehow switch places with him, but nothing happened, I was still alive and my son was probably dead.
When I landed, I expected to see the lava peeling away his corpse, but that was not what happened, instead I found him intact and alive, crying hysterically in a shielded sphere.
I thought maybe he had somehow manifested his power young, but then I realized, that this magic was coming from me.
I called to the sphere that encased my entire world, and it floated to me across the lava pool and onto the soil.
That is when I grabbed him in my arms and sobbed in front of all my warriors, but I could not care less, I was going home with my son today. ~
She shut the diary and gave Titus a moment to string his thoughts together.
“I understand, but it doesn’t make any sense as to why my shield projection faltered, I do love her, I even made her my mate.” He explained defensively.
“There are many types of love, Lord Titus, the one needed to shield project flawlessly is a love that requires truly valuing what or who you are shielding, it requires you loving her more than you love yourself, you have to be willing to sacrifice yourself for her.” She replied pointedly.
Several moments of awkward silence passed, and I felt like I had been punched in the stomach.
Not even the Faerie wine could numb this cold hard dose of reality.
Titus did love me, I knew he did, but would he sacrifice himself for me?
Did he love me more than he loved himself?
I was not entirely certain. Would I sacrifice myself for him?
“I do love her, more than you know,” he said with teeth clenched, and sparks began to flicker above his broad shoulders. Saraswati’s wings spread defensively, and twitched in response to his flames.
“Well then, perhaps your mate mark just needs time to settle in, as it is so fresh, I’m sure over time your shield projection will become stronger as your mate bond solidifies.” She explained optimistically, but I knew she didn’t believe what she was saying.
“Now then what exactly did you want to know about ancient lineage?” She asked after taking a big sip.
The mood lightened—we all needed that subject change. Her wings retracted and cinched together delicately. I also took a big drink this time, not meaning to, but it was like muscle memory, an automatic response to the storm of emotions raging inside me.
“You are so pretty,” my words slurred as I was horrified. I said that aloud. I threw my hands over my mouth, and Titus rolled his eyes.
Her lavender eyes looked up at me, her wings perked slightly, and she replied, “I could say the same about you, Delilah, I’m a sucker for the golden tan skin of a Fire Fae, but you wear it the best love.”
I blushed. “And you are so smart and very good at your job.” I added, and at this point I didn’t have any control of my words. The familiar filter-less feeling of Faerie wine settled in and apparently, I had no idea how to flirt with a female. I just awkwardly over-complimented them.
Her eyes lit up and her wings fluttered quickly before she gracefully tucked them back. She lowered her head to me and scraped her perfect white teeth on her bottom lip and seductively said, “oh, I promise you I am very -very good at any job, better than Titus even.” She winked in his direction.
K. ROSé
He scoffed and sparks flickered. “I find that ironic when both the females in this room have outright begged for me.”
“Yes, Titus, you may be the king of cock, but I’m the goddess of cunnilingus—or so I’ve been told.” She winked, her voice dipping into a low, seductive purr.
“I am curious Saraswati, who out of me and my brothers was the best fuck? I’ve always wanted to know.” He asked and I sensed a sprinkle of arousal in his tone.
“Hmm, that’s hard to say, depends on what I was in the mood for, you are all hung enough to do the job and then some, but if I wanted it rough I’d fuck Cercies, If I wanted to be worshiped, I’d fuck Aurelius, but you, I’d only fuck you when I was truly craving something… dangerous.”
He smirked approvingly.
I was starting to learn that the Fae were extremely sexual beings. They had no shame in their pleasure, and something about that was oddly refreshing.
She continued, “But all three of you at once, now that was memorable, what did you boys use to call it?”
“The royal treatment,” He chuckled.
She laughed and I smirked as well. What a corny name, but not a bad one.
What else would you call a foursome with three royal Fae males?
Images from that night in the lounge flashed in my mind, and my body temperature rose.
I knew that any normal freshly marked female would be irritated by the current conversation, but it had me intrigued.
I knew so little about Titus before he took the throne, so little in general.
“Tell me dear Delilah, I am such a sucker for gossip, has Lord Titus given you ‘the royal treatment‘ yet?” She asked as she took another sip with arched brow.
Titus replied for me while I felt the weight of his hand rub my shoulder. “No, this one I decided, I want all to myself.”
Well now I felt guilty for just fantasizing about screwing him and his friends.
My heart swelled to his words, and now I knew I needed to shove away that burning curiosity of what the royal treatment would have been like.
I felt as though I was having a sexual midlife crisis…
or was it a sexual awakening? One minute I gave up on my old life and became Titus’s mate, the next I had the urge to experiment with a female, and now I was getting all hot and bothered over the idea of multiple males at once?
I don’t think I developed sexually the way I should have.
I knew it was because of the trauma from my past. I never even tried to have sex again until Danny, and then I married Jared.
I was beginning to realize that my outlook on pleasure was very narrow, and being in the Faerie realm had widened my view to all the shameless possibilities.
