The fire on Cushing Island seems suspicious before we even hit the water.

Getting attacked on the way there only solidifies it, something bad is going down in paradise.

The cabin’s engulfed but no one’s losing their life today, not on my watch.

Not when the someone still inside is the girl I never had the courage to talk to in high school.

She’s my mermaid; too perfect to exist in the real world, yet here she is.

And I’ll do whatever it takes to see to it that never changes, even if it means putting my life on the line.
