Zaria- Chapter Nineteen

June said tonight was a surprise, and he needed me to meet him somewhere.
He had already convinced Samara to watch the kids, so there was no reason for me to refuse.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, so I wore something comfortable.
I put on a brown skirt and an orange tube top.
I made sure my hair was nicely fluffed out because that was what he loved most. He gave me a time, and I didn’t want to be late, so I hurried through the house, grabbed my purse, and left.
The destination wasn’t too far from the house. Actually, it was in the same shopping plaza where Bishop’s business was located. I parked my car and stepped out. I checked my phone, then looked at the building number.
“What the hell?” I smiled.
I was walking across the parking lot when the lights from an oncoming car beamed. The car sped up, then stopped only inches away from me.
“Get yo ass out of the way!” I heard June yell out of the window.
I stood there, confused, but when he turned off the lights, I saw him grinning, and then he winked. He wanted to role-play. I slowly nodded and got into character.
I held up my middle finger. “Fuck you!” I shouted.
He swerved the car into a parking spot and hopped out. “Fuck you! You almost got your knees knocked back being fucking reckless!”
That was when it clicked. This was how we first met. I wanted to laugh, but I kept it together and continued. I turned his way, throwing my hand on my hip.
“Who are you talking to?”
“Yo ass!”
“It’s your ass. Like I said before, Fuck. You. You shouldn’t have been speeding anyway, fucking dick!”
He came closer, and I melted as he stood there in all black looking good as that very same day.
Closer.
“You probably need some!”
Closer.
I tossed my hand up. “Trust me; you don’t have the type of dick I’m looking for.”
Closer.
“I got all the dick you’re looking for. Go inside,” he said barely above a whisper.
My tongue slid over my lips as a chill swept through me.
I turned and headed inside the building.
When I stepped in, I could not believe it.
It looked exactly like my old shop. The place I didn’t want to give up, the very business that I never flourished in like I wanted to.
He added a little extra with the balloons and candles, but it didn’t take away from what I had left behind.
It had always been him paying attention to the details, studying my wants and needs.
It’s what made him special. June was truly a one-in-a-million type of man, and if I ever thought I would find someone who compared, each time, he showed me I couldn’t.
I slowly turned around to face him standing there. His tall stature, his stare, his lips, his seriousness, and his nose ring. June was a nineties kind of fine, and from the time I met him until now, none of it had changed.
“Keep going,” he mumbled.
I didn’t want to keep going; I wanted to run into his arms and hug him. I wanted to plant my lips on his. I wanted to love him more than I did only a few minutes ago. However, I continued.
“The door!” I shouted.
“Juice bookstore. Cute.”
“Excuse me?”
He slowly licked his lips as his eyes traveled from my feet back to my eyes. “You need to spice shit up in here. Add plants and a little orange color to make it pop. Did you know orange represents transformation?”
My breathing grew heavy because every part of this turned me on, but I almost felt like this was the last time. I came out of character and ran into his arms.
“I love you, June. I fucking love you so much,” I cried.
“Ditto, baby. Can a nigga smoke in here?” He winked as he pulled out his blunt.
I laughed. “Nigga, you can smoke anywhere you want,” I said, looking up at him.
He leaned down and kissed me. He kissed me so good I could have cum from it. He pulled away, lit his blunt, and stared, then pointed.
“Now take that shit off.”
June was a real one, and I was happy he chose me.
