Chapter 11
Destiny's pov
I was awake from my sleep, but I am still in bed watching the ceiling and thinking about what happened on Saturday.
Well it's Monday, I am starting my work today. I woke up way early at six thirty because I couldn't sleep. I didn't catch enough sleep on yesterday as well.
After finding out that Alex's friend is Liam, I was shocked. Throughout the night, we didn't talk except when he asked me how was I. I replied him honestly because it's true, I have been good.
Except the time he left me. Few months were horrible to me. I would constantly think about him but eventually I completed the high school. The life was going good till now. 'I don't know what is yet to come'.
He likes to call me princess since we met. He hasn't change a bit from out last meet. He still pouts at silly things.
'You find it cute, isn't it? ' my heart asked.
'Yes' I answered immediately not thinking twice.
'Yes I knew it, you are attracted to him' she said.
'Will you shut up, I am thinking ' I said.
'Well you are thinking about him' she replied.
I went silent. Because she is true, I can't deny that.
After they helped us in cleaning, they left. Alex and Ava talked a lot. Even after he went, she talked about them what they did in high school. We watched a movie and slept.
On Sunday we woke up and spent our morning in my apartment. She has some clothes in my closet or she uses my clothes sometimes after she showers here. She left at noon because her parents called and informed her to come there immediately.
I wrote a resignation letter to the hotel I was working for and gave it to Ava before she left. She said she will talk to the boss and take the money which I have worked till now.
After that I just cleaned up my home. Made my dinner and slept. And here I am now, woke up early and thinking about it.
My alarm started ringing. I shut down my alarm and went to take a shower.
After the shower I took a towel and wrapped around my body. I went to the closet and picked my outfit.

I quickly changed and put on some makeup. Not much just mascara and light color lipstick. I left my hair free after brushing through it. I went to the kitchen and made a small breakfast for myself.
After eating it, I saw the time it's 8.05. I went to my room and picked up my bag. I wore my heels and went out of my apartment after locking the door.
I hailed a cab and made it to the Collins building. I made it to the entrance and saw the same lady working at the reception. I smiled and went towards her.
"Hello Miss ..." I saw the name tag which I missed last time and continued ".. Katie, I hope your morning is good till now" I asked her still smiling.
She looked up and smiled brightly at me and asked "Hello dear, I think you got the job because I can see the smile on your face and I am seeing you again here" I nodded at her happily and she continued "Congratulations dear. What's your name?"
"Thank you, I am Destiny Walker, you can call me Destiny" I said. "OK Destiny now go on, so you don't have to be late for your first day of work. I hope we can meet in the lunch time" Katie replied. I nodded my head and bid a bye to her.
I was in the elevator when I checked my time it was already eight forty five. 'I am late'. Why do they have to have these many floors. I released a breath when the elevator door opened.
I exited and went to Alexis who was standing in front of her desk arranging some files.
She looked up and saw me coming towards her. She smiled and said "Good morning Destiny, you are one minute late" my eyes widened at her reply. I mean how did she knew that when she didn't even see the time "But I won't punish you, it's your first day. So shall we start the day".
Before I can reply she took my hand and started dragging me to a desk which is placed in infront of the CEO room. 'How did it get here in a span of two days. I hadn't seen it on the interview day. I clearly remember it'.
While dragging she started talking again "This is your desk. So your day starts sharp at nine and end at six in the evening. Your Saturday timings end at three. Sunday is a holiday" we reached the desk and she stood infront of me and continued.
"Your boss will be present here at nine and he expects his coffee and his daily schedule at 9.
15. If he have any important schedule tomorrow, he needs to be reminded a day before because he tends to forget them fast. He is addicted to coffee, so whenever he ask it you have to make it.
I don't assign you the work because it's his work. So you have to wait till he arrive".
She took the file from the desk and put in my hand "It's today schedule which I made it already.
Tomorrow it's your job. In down floor, it contains several meeting rooms along with a small room of supplies.
Next to my desk there is kitchen, so you should prepare him coffee in there.
In lunch time meet me in the canteen I will show you around the building with respective departments.
Finally my work has reduced now that you are here as his PA.
Preparing his schedule was hectic along with my work".
She hugged me suddenly and said "If you need me, come to 58th floor because I will be working there from today onwards where I should have being working.
Only when there is important work I will come to my desk here.
OK bye continue your work" she left me standing there dumbfounded with my mouth opening and closing.
I am still processing what she had said to me.
I looked around and then saw the file in my hand.
I sat on the chair and placed the bag and file on the desk. I sat there few minutes recalling Alexis words. I switched on the laptop placed on the desk and went through the schedule.
As I was going through the schedule, I hear footsteps approaching near me. I lifted my head up and saw Liam approaching me. He was wearing black two piece suit. He looked handsome. 'My heart fluttered at his appearance' I stood up when he reached my desk.
"Come to my office" he said and went to his office room. I picked up the file and went to his office.
He was already seated in his chair and saw my every movement. I placed the file infront of him and said "Good morning sir, here is your today's schedule. Alexis prepared this before she went back to her work" after saying I stood infront of the desk.
He picked up the file and started going through it. 'still a jerk, he didn't even greet me'. After few minutes he said "Have you talked about your salary to Alexis ".
I shook my head but he didn't see me because he was seeing the file so I replied "No sir".
"So your monthly salary is 3600 dollars" my eyes widened and my mouth was hitting the floor hearing the amount because that is what I was getting for 5 months working in the hotel "Your work will be to arrange my schedules and meetings.
You should remind me 5 minutes prior the meeting.
I might give you some files to check it" he said and looked up to me.
I was back to the normal state when he already looked up.
He continued "I want my coffee now. To your left I have some files which you need to redo it and arrange in alphabetical order" I looked to my left and saw two boxes of files in it.
I looked back at him, he was already looking at me keeping his face blank.
I nodded my head at him. "I need words Miss Walker" he said.
"Yes sir" I replied and went to take the boxes. I took two of them and made my way towards the door and slowly opened it.
As the door was closing, a hand stopped it. I looked up to see that Liam has came to the door and stood infront of me. I was a foot far from the door.
"And Miss Walker I forgot one thing" he said and leaned towards my left ear, I can feel his breath on my skin. I tightened my grip on the box. He whispered "Good morning princess and you look cute in that outfit".
With that he went back to his office. I am still standing there and thinking 'what just happened'. I feel pressure on hands, I look down to see boxes. I came back to my senses and went to my desk and started working.
It is afternoon now. And I am still working on the redo files. I have already completed his tomorrow's schedule. The lunch starts at 1.30 pm and I have still ten minutes to go.
I only went to his office two times, one for giving his coffee and to remind him his meeting. And he hasn't come back yet. He has another meeting at three.
I left my work and went to the cafeteria where Alexis said to meet me. As I was about to call her, she came from behind me and stood infront of me.
"I was about to call you" I said.
"You don't have to. I called you here, so it's my responsibility to look after you. I was waiting for you to enter the cafeteria. Now come we will talk and discuss it" she said and started moving towards the table where Katie was there.
I smiled seeing her. "Hello dear we meet again" she replied as we both sat with her.
"Hello Katie, can I call you that or I can call Miss Katie " I asked.
"It's OK dear, you can call me Katie" she replied smiling at me.
"Well I don't need to introduce you two. It's seems like you have met already" Alexis asked.
"Today morning we introduced each other" Katie replied.
"Cool. I have already ordered the food, if you don't mind Destiny" I shook my head at Alexis question.
Our food came, we chatted a lot laughing and joking with ourselves. I came to know that Alexis is married and have a kid of two year old. I want to meet him. And she said she has been working here for five years.
And Katie's husband died a long back, she has a son of twenty five years old who is traveling now. And she lives on her own.
After eating, Alexis and I bid a bye to Katie because Alexis has to show me the building. She took half an hour to show around. I mentally kept a reminder of everything.
I showed up to my desk at 2.45 pm. I saw a sticky note on my laptop screen. I removed it and read.
I know you have went to your lunch, but I want you to complete the files by today evening. And I have some work for you. I wanted to call and inform but I don't have your number, so I wrote down my number. When you get this message call me immediately.
Liam
It must be important if he left a message. I picked my phone, saved the contact and dailed the number.
At first ring he picked up, before I could speak he started "Who is this?".
'He doesn't have patience to listen first'
"This is Destiny sir, as soon I got your message, I called immediately. The files you have asked is almost done. I will bring it to you by five today " I said.
"Very well Miss Walker, I will not come back to the office so I want the files on the table after you finish it, I will check it tomorrow. And I want you to make an appointment on tomorrow's lunch at a good hotel, it's your choice" he said in a stern voice on the other side of the phone.
"But sir, you have an meeting at three with financial department" I reminded him.
"I know Ms Walker, so I have reached here early. You may finish your work and leave" he said.
"Yes sir" I replied and hung up.
I called a good restaurant and booked an appointment.
'With whom is he having his lunch tomorrow' I thought.
'Maybe his girlfriend ' my innerself replied.
'I don't know'
Thinking about that my stomach twisted with displeasure.
I shook my head and started completing my work. I finished the files and placed them on his desk and left the office at five.
Well today was great.
