Chapter 21
Destiny's pov
I have so much more to do today. It's already Monday noon and I feel the pressure. Due to this new deal, the project had started it's work today. Now I know why this company is running successful from years. I appreciate it very well.
Today morning when I came to my desk. I found a bouquet of roses and a letter with it. It was from Liam. A smile was made on my lips. He had already come early and placed the flowers on my desk. It's very sweet of him.
I made his coffee and said a thank you to him for the flowers, for which his replied with a smile.
And the day went on. It was now lunch time.
At last I picked a plate of food and sat on a empty table.
I puffed out a breath and picked the spoon to eat. But I felt two people sat across me on the chair. I looked up and saw Alexis and Katie looking at me smiling.
"Looks like someone forgot us Katie" Alexis said with fake sarcastic.
I smiled at them and said "I didn't forget you both. It's just there is lot of work to do and I didn't get the time" and started eating.
"Oh it's okay dear, Alexis is joking with you. We know how busy it is, because of the new deal" Katie said. I nodded my head.
"How was London? Sir doesn't take anyone with him to any of his business trip" Alexis said confusingly. He really doesn't take anyone, then why me.
"Really! But he said, if you are my PA now, you have to come" I said.
Alexis face turned into a knowing look like she found out some mystery and started smirking.
"I know now why he is doing this" she mumbled but I heard it.
"What?" I asked her confusingly.
"Oh it's nothing. Shall we complete the lunch fast, there is so much work to do" she said hurriedly. Katie shook her head smiling at Alexis behavior.
We ate the food and left to our own departments.
I started working again when I received a message from Alexis, that she was coming here. Few minutes later she came and stood infront of me.
"I have few documents which needs sir signature. I know it's your job, but I have to discuss something with him so I will take it" she said smiling sweetly at me. I laughed at her and said 'yes'.
He still hasn't come back from the meeting.
"Wait Alexis" I called her when she was about to open the door. She turned and raised her eyebrows at me in surprise.
"Sir hasn't didn't come back from the meeting" I looked at the time on my wrist watch and said "He would be back in fifteen to twenty minutes. Till then you can wait here".
She nodded her head. She came and sat beside me on the other chair.
"You didn't answer my question in lunch" I furrowed my eyebrows at her in confusion. What did she ask? Seeing my questioning face she said "I asked how was London".
"Ohh.. That. It was good, we made the deal very fast. In two days we got the deal" I said to her happily.
She nodded her head but something was up. Like she was calculating something. And I was correct because her next question made me dumbfounded.
"If you both have finished it in two days, then what you did on the third day. Because it was three days business trip" she asked innocently.
I don't know what to say. "I..... we... " I looked down and released a breath. I think I have to answer her honestly. I looked at her who was waiting patiently for me to answer.
"Well sir took me out. We went to amusement park and then to London eye" I said lowly.
Alexis eyes widened in shock at her my answer.
"Did he really take you out in London" she asked still in shock. I nodded my head.
"Can you pinch me" she asked. I shook my head in horror. Why should I pinch her.
"Just pinch me Destiny, I want to know whether I am in a dream hearing this from you" she asked again. And I did what she told me. I pinched her left arm, not to hardly.
She let out out a yelp and rubbed her hand where I had just pinched.
"It's real. Oh God it's real!" she said. No she shouted.
"What happened?" I asked her.
She took my hands and asked in amusement "Next what happened. Did you two kiss".
My eyes widened and my face started to heat up. I pulled my hands from her and patted my cheeks to cool down.
"N.... No. We didn't....kiss. Why.... Why would we kiss" I answered to her shuttering. Why the hell am I shuttering.
"What is happening here? Alexis what are you doing here?" we heard Liam voice in front of the desk.
Hearing him we both stood up and looked at him. He was looking at us in confusion.
Seeing his face, I started to blush deep again. Why am I blushing seeing him, it's not like we kissed.
"I want your signature in some documents sirrr" Alexis said stressing the letter 'r'. She smirked at him.
"I want to discuss something important with you and that is regarding about someone" she said and glanced at me when she said someone.
Liam looked at her blankly and nodded his head. He went to his office silently.
Alexis turned to me and smiled, and said "See you again in few minutes".
She entered his office. I took few breaths and sat in my chair. And started working.
What would Alexis wanted to talk about?.
'Mind your own work Destiny' my mind said.
'You are right'
I shook the thought and continued my work.
After fifteen minutes, I wanted Liam signature on the file. And I wanted to go in but Alexis has not returned yet.
Should I go inside. Or will I distrub them.
'just go, you want the sign'.
I took the file and knocked on his door.
The door opened and Alexis stood infront of me.
"Destiny" she said beaming at me "You can have him all you want. I won't disturb you two now" she said and walked past me.
But she stopped, turned her head towards Liam and said smirking at him "Liam, don't forget to enjoy. I can help you, if you want anything. I mean anything".
"ALEXIS" Liam shouted making me flinch back. But Alexis was laughing running to the elevator.
I turned towards Liam to see him standing from his chair and his face flushed. I can see his ears getting red. Is he blushing.
He cleared his throat and sat on the chair.
"What" his voice was rough, he cleared his throat again and asked "What do you want". He was avoiding seeing me.
"I need your signature in this file" I said and passed the file to him.
He checked the file and signed it. But he didn't gave it back to me. Instead he accidentally dropped it on floor and by mistake he knocked down his penstand on the floor.
He cursed and started picking it. I went to help him.
He picked the file and few pens. I picked the rest and placed it on the desk neatly. And this whole time, he was looking at me.
I took the file and was about to move. When his hand held my wrist and pulled me towards him. I landed on perfectly on his lap. Again the file was on the floor. I was shocked at his actions.
His hands were on my waist, held me from behind tightly. He again pulled me more towards him crashing my back to his chest. I started to wriggle out of his hold. But damn he was strong.
He put his chin on my shoulder and said "Why did you hang up on me yesterday. I was just worried about you".
It was nice sitting close to him. He is so warm. I could cuddle him all day.
"You don't have to worry about me. I know how to take care of myself" I said trying to get out of his hold.
Suddenly his hand came up and started to trace my face from forehead to chin. I was frozen on his lap.
From where he had touched, I can feel the tingles there.
Then his finger traced my eyebrows, nose and jaw. I enjoyed this feeling of his fingers on my face. I was speechless. I don't know what to do.
My mind is shouting to remove his hand and get away from him. But my heart says the opposite. It says to be in his arms. Enjoy the feeling he was giving you. Don't push him away.
And I listened to it.
I melted in his arms and closed my eyes. He pulled me towards him more, not even leaving to pass the air between us. I can feel his heartbeat on my back. He bought his face beside my cheek and pressed his cheek with mine. I can feel his subtle on my cheek.
It feels amazing to be in his arms.
I feel happy. My heartbeat is beating rapidly. I know I liked him. But I was being in control whenever I was with him. But this is new, I didn't feel this till now.
Like I am complete when I am with him.
What is this feeling?
I feel his hold tighted around me. His right hand traced my left arm which was wrapped on his arm. When did I do that. Slowly he moved up, I shivered at his touch.
What is happening to me, why I can't resist him like I did to other men when they tried to flirt with me.
His hand came to shoulder and then went to my chin. He slowly tilted my face to right. I came feel his breath on my face.
Is he going to kiss me? What do I do? What do I do?
He is the only man I kissed in my life. And he is going to kiss me again. Am I ready for this?.
I felt his lips hover above my lips. He was about to kiss me.
When we heard someone yell.
"What the fuck!"
And in instant, I became alert. I opened my eyes and pulled away from Liam and stood up from his lap. This time he left me.
I looked up to see Alex standing near the door in shock. Why didn't I hear the door open.
I quickly picked up the file on the floor and dashed out without even looking at Liam.
I ran past Alex towards the kitchen. I placed the file on the table and patted my heart to cool down.
I rubbed my face with my hands. I leaned against the table by keeping my hands on the table.
What just happened. Why did I let to get this far.
I should control my feelings. Even after seven years, I still like him. Why! Why!
I can't seem to control my feelings when he is near me. Why did I listen to my heart. When I listened to it first, I ended up broken. I don't want that again. I can't face him or Alex now. I have to leave this place.
I quickly went back to my desk. Wrote a note and sticked it on my laptop. I packed my bag and left the building.
My mind is puzzled now, wheather to stay away from him or let him in.
Does anyone hate Alex for interrupting their moment?
