Chapter 22
Liam's pov
I was about to kiss her when I heard someone yell.
"What the fuck!"
And in instant she pulled away from me and stood up. I left her. I miss her in my arms. It's not even been few seconds.
She looked at the door and picked the file from the floor and dashed out, not even sparing me a glance.
I was happy that I was about to kiss her again but it had to been ruined.
Who the hell have to distrub us, I will kill them.
I turned and glared at the person. The person is none other than my best friend. He is dead today.
"Are you fucking kidding me! What I had just witnessed isn't a fucking dream. Is it!" he said rubbing his eyes with his hands. I was giving him a deadly glare.
He shut the door and banged his head on it. He rubbed it with his hand.
"I am not dreaming. And that means you were about to kiss Destiny. This is miracle" he said still in shock. Is it that hard to believe.
"If you hadn't interrupted us, then I would have been kissing her now rather then hearing your nonsense" I said to him in venom.
"Woah cool bro cool. I didn't expect you to be in this position when I entered. I usually enter because I know you work like a mad man" he said and sat on the chair.
I ran my hand in my hair in frustration.
What would be Destiny doing now. Did she regret it being this close to me. Was she going to kiss me back when I would have kissed her.
So many thoughts were running inside my head.
"Did you really have to ruin it. When you saw us, why didn't you leave us alone" I said in a cold voice.
"You can't blame me. Whenever I have been with you, I didn't see you look at any girl. Heck! Not even a glance at them. Once I thought you might be a gay" at that I glared at him. But he ignored me and said "And when I saw you almost kiss Destiny, I just freak out".
"What's so special about her that you didn't find in any other girl" he said wiggling his eyebrows.
"She is just special" I said to him.
"Okay" he said.
He stood up and moved towards the door but stopped and turned smirking at me and said "But I have to see her and tease her" and dashed out of the door.
"Alex don't do anything stupid" I said chasing after him.
When I went out, I only found him standing alone with a note in his hand. He was reading it with a frown on his lips. I looked around for Destiny but she was not here.
I looked at Alex, he passed the note to me. I took it and read.
Sir, you have a meeting with important clients at four today. And after that you are free. I have some important work, so I am leaving early.

I was getting angry. She ran away. This means she regret being close to me. She doesn't like me.
I crushed the note in my hand and throw it in the hallway with full anger.
How could she run away. Doesn't she feel anything for me?. If she didn't, then why did she melt in my arms.
I turned towards my office but stopped. Alex is still here and I want to be alone.
"Alex leave. I want to be alone now. I will call you later" I said to him. I opened the door, went in and shut it loudly behind me.
I stood in front of the desk and slid my hands across it. Everything on the desk crashed it on the floor. I sat on the chair and trying to cool down.
I can still feel her soft skin in my finger. I put her image in my mind tracing her face. The way she melted in my arms and closed her eyes, as I felt her.
When she helped me pick up the pens and then arranged it neatly. I couldn't take my eyes of her. I wanted to feel her and I wanted her in my arms, so I pulled her to me.
I can feel her shiver at my touch. With every touch I can feel my heart beat increase. Even I heard her heartbeat. If she had felt something for me then why did she run away.
I didn't even see her face to read what she was thinking when she went out.
What if no one had disturbed us. We would have been kiss. I would have known her reaction.
Even Alexis came to know about my liking to Destiny. She teased me to dead till Destiny knocked the door.
She kept on asking me wheather we did the deed. I blushed hearing that. And she had to comment about that at last while leaving the office. My face became flush thinking about it. I think Destiny didn't understood the double meaning.
I have to talk to her. I will talk to her tomorrow when she comes to the office.
I got up and cleaned the office. Thank God the laptop is in good condition. I looked around the room for any mess but found nothing. I went to the bathroom and washed my face. I looked at the time to see that I have fifteen minutes to go to the meeting.
I came out of the bathroom and checked the files which I needed. I took it and went to the meeting.
The meeting took more time than I thought. I again went to the office room and started working.
I kept on working so that I won't think of her.
It was really late when I went home. Throughout the way I only thought about her.
I didn't have dinner and went straight to sleep.
Next day I came at the usual time to the office in the thought of meeting Destiny.
But instead I came face to face with Alexis as I exited the elevator. She looked up from the desk and smiled at me and greeted me. I greeted back and just nod my head at her and went to my office room. I didn't she Destiny there.
She must be making my coffee.
I went inside and started my work. After few minutes, I heard a knock at the door. I said 'come in'.
I was eager to see Destiny and talk to her about what happened yesterday.
I looked up smiling at the door, but my smile turned down and frowned seeing Alexis. She bought my coffee instead of Destiny.
"Wow. What a warm welcome. I should be honored" Alexis said annoyingly by keeping my coffee on the desk. I didn't reply instead I looked behind her to see Destiny, but she was not there.
"Where is Destiny" I said looking at her.
Alexis placed her hand on the heart and made a fake gasp and said "Did you really forget me in this one week, before her I was the one who was bringing the coffee to you. What magic did Destiny put on you".
"Seriously Alexis, I am not messing. Where is Destiny? She left yesterday early saying that she had an important work" I said to her.
She puffed out a breath and said "She called this morning and said she was not well and also said she will complete her work at home, she will not keep her work pending.
She is very good in her job you know. She already prepared your today's schedule and mailed me.
And she sent all the documents mailing it. She is awesome".
I only listen to her keeping my face blank. I only heard she is not coming today.
"So she is not coming today" I asked her.
She looked at me like a crazy guy "Really, you only heard that" then she smirked at me after she realized something.
"Awww someone is gonna miss his sweet little PA" she said in cooing voice but she smirk is still in the face.
I glared at her and continued my working not looking at her. If she sees my eyes she will again start teasing me about it like yesterday.
"Alexis be quiet. It's not what you are thinking. Don't you have work to do" I said looking into my mails.
"Don't worry I won't say to Destiny that his boss is missing her" I can hear the teasing in her voice.
"And sir, here is your today's schedule" saying that she kept the file on the desk at went out.
I released a breath and leaned back on the chair rubbing my face with my hands.
Is she embarrassed to see me? Did I went to far in kissing her? I should have waited for more time.
Damn my hormones. I am thinking like teenager guy.
She must be hating me now, that's why she didn't come to office. Or is she really not well. I think she didn't come because she is too embarrassed.
Shit I should apologize to her. She just said she wanted to be friends and here I am thinking to kiss her.
What the hell I was thinking kissing her.
And I was angry at her for running away.
Every girl would have ran away when they were caught in that situation.
When she will come to work tomorrow I have to talk to her about it.
I picked up the coffee and took a sip. I immediately bought it down cursing.
Damn you Alexis, why did she have to give me this hot coffee.
And it doesn't taste like Destiny's. Alexis makes the coffee good but Destiny's coffee is heaven and it's not too hot nor cold, just to my liking.
I don't know what she puts but I love her coffee.
She has been here for one week and I am already addicted to her.
I started working again. I attended the meetings and went on with the day.
The next day arrived and still no sign of Destiny. She used the same words not well and had taken the leave. By now I came to know that she is really avoiding me. She is not ready to show her face to me. But I will not leave this here. So tonight I am going to her place to confront her.
I could have called her or messaged her to ask about her but I have to see her in person.
I finished my work and it was already eight. And that didn't stop me from going to her place.
And within half an hour I was at her front door knocking with some chocolates in my coat pockets 'in case'.
I heard a 'coming' it's was muffled and with a cough.
Is she OK. In few seconds the door opened and there stood the girl I was waiting to see. She stood there shocked seeing me here.
But she looked not to good. She was wearing a long T-shirt which was covering her short shorts. Her face was little pale. Her nose was little red. She is sick, I can say by looking at her.
"What are you doing here" she asked me coming out of her shocked state seeing me.
