Chapter 1 The Real Reason
After class, Pei Sijin blocked me.
A hint of confusion appeared on his handsome face.
"Why? We were chatting fine in the last message. How come the next sentence is about breaking up?"
"Don't scare me, okay? Did you misclick on your phone?"
I turned my face away.
"It wasn't a misclick."
Pei Sijin refused to accept it.
"Then you have to give me a reason."
I stayed silent, my gaze drifting to the corridor outside the classroom.
Pei Sijin's Gaming Buddy waited there bored, chewing gum, waiting for Pei Sijin to take her to eat.
"...She is the reason."
Pei Sijin's gaze followed mine outward.
He paused, then let out a sigh of relief.
"You mean Su Yu? She's the Gaming Buddy I've known for two years in the game."
"We use voice changers when playing games. Her voice sounds terrible. It was only at the In-Person Meetup that I realized she's a girl."
"Otherwise I would still be in the dark, thinking my Gaming Buddy was some sleazy foot-picking big guy."

I was about to speak when Su Yu suddenly walked to the door and knocked, urging.
"Old Pei, aren't you taking me to eat? When can you leave?"
Pei Sijin called back loudly.
"Got it, got it, coming right away!"
Seeing the two of them going back and forth.
I suddenly felt any further explanation was meaningless.
I turned around and left behind only one sentence.
"Pei Sijin, we really should break up."
