Chapter 2 Twice the Dinner
The whole afternoon, I stayed curled up in the dormitory.
The phone didn't ring again.
If it were before, Pei Sijin would have already been pestering me to comfort me.
I thought this was good too.
It saved me the time of arguing back and forth with him.
I was preparing to pack my things and go to the library to study.
But right then, the message notification rang.
I subconsciously glanced at the screen.
"Song Zhiyuan, want to eat at the new Japanese Yakiniku place tonight?"
It was my dormmate Yueyue inviting me to dinner.
I didn't think much of it and agreed.
But when I arrived at the Japanese Yakiniku restaurant's private room that evening, I saw Pei Sijin waiting there.
I was stunned for a moment before I realized.
Pei Sijin had conspired with my roommate to lure me here.
"I know. It's because you've been too busy with internship recently, and after school started I didn't have time to accompany you, so you felt insecure and suggested breaking up."
"So now I'm accompanying you for dinner, at this Japanese Yakiniku you really like."
He looked like he had reflected seriously, and as he spoke he added meat to my bowl.
On the charcoal fire, the snowflake beef short ribs were still sizzling with fragrant oil.
I was truly hungry.
I didn't refuse.
Midway, Pei Sijin said he was going to the toilet.
When he returned, he held two identical gift packaging bags.
Pink ones preferred by girls.
"Here, my apology gift—"
"Ta-da! The bracelet you liked when we went shopping last time."
Pei Sijin smiled and pushed one toward me.
He kept the other one himself.
I didn't accept it. I just asked about the same packaging bag next to Pei Sijin's hand.
"What is that?"
Pei Sijin replied nonchalantly.
"Oh, this."
"I bought an extra one while getting the bracelet. Su Yu's birthday is tomorrow, so I won't waste time picking another gift for her."
I suddenly lost my appetite.
I was about to stop my chopsticks and say something when the server entered the private room.
Placing a plate of eel on the table.
"Sir, this is the extra dish for members who come to the store and consume twice daily."
"Daily consumption twice?"
I repeated.
The fat I had just swallowed seemed to solidify in my stomach.
It was disgusting enough to make me want to vomit.
