Chapter 3 The Apology

"Pei Sijin, you came with Su Yu at noon."

Pei Sijin was taken aback. "Yes."

I grabbed my jacket and walked out.

Pei Sijin immediately chased after me, grabbing my hand with a frown.

"What's wrong again?"

"I?"

I took a deep breath.

"The bracelet I wanted, you bought two—one for me and one left for Su Yu."

"The Japanese Yakiniku I wanted to eat, you ate it twice, first with her and then with me."

"Why do you have to give her a share of everything I like? Why did you do this without thinking there's any issue? Pei Sijin, eating Japanese Yakiniku twice a day—don't you think your appetite is too big?"

Pei Sijin looked at me in disbelief.

"Su Yu is my Gaming Buddy. Now she's enrolled in the same university and become our junior. She's alone in a new place. Isn't it right for me to take extra care of her?"

I coldly shook off his hand that was blocking me.

"Fine. As long as you think it's right, there's no problem."

I was really disappointed in Pei Sijin.

Back home, I blocked all of Pei Sijin's contacts.

But the next day, Su Yu stopped me in the classroom.

In front of everyone, she bowed to me at ninety degrees.

"Senior, did you argue with Old Pei because of me?"

"If so, I apologize to you. Old Pei can be a bit thoughtless, but he'll change for sure. Please forgive him."

She spoke so generously, like a good friend of Pei Sijin.

I was the one left exposed.

Classmates glanced between her and me, whispering continuously.

"Is it true? Over something so small, Song Zhiyuan is too jealous."

"Doesn't seem like it, but her temper is pretty bad."

"Tsk, Pei Sijin is so patient..."

One-sided condemnation.

As if not forgiving Pei Sijin made me petty and overly dramatic.

I laughed coldly.

"Who are you?"

"Matters between Pei Sijin and me don't concern you."

Su Yu looked dazed.

I had already brushed past her shoulder and left.

Saying one more word to her was a waste of time.

But when I got downstairs, I suddenly remembered I left a pen in the classroom.

I turned back upstairs to retrieve it.

Pei Sijin's voice floated out from the classroom.

"It's not your business. You've helped me enough already. Can't be helped, Song Zhiyuan is still angry with me."

"Old Pei, does senior always have such a big temper?"

Pei Sijin sighed helplessly. "Yes."

"She's been like this since we met. We've been in a relationship for so many years. I can't even have a female mosquito near me without her throwing a fit."

Su Yu exclaimed "Ah."

"Then should I keep more distance from you?"

Pei Sijin laughed and ruffled her hair into a mess.

"What are you scared of? I don't see you as a girl anyway."

"Old Pei!"

Only after making Su Yu stomp in frustration did he stop laughing and say calmly.

"We've been Gaming Buddies for two years. It's already revolutionary friendship. How could I abandon you?"

"Moreover, it was Song Zhiyuan who was making trouble for no reason."

"Do I have to stop interacting with girls forever just because she minds it?"

"Don't think up all those weird solutions for me. We'll make up in the end anyway. Cooling her off a little won't hurt anything."

I listened quietly to the whole thing and suddenly smiled mockingly to myself.

So even now, he still believed it was my fault.

This time, I turned and walked away without looking back.

I didn't take the pen.

And I no longer wanted the person.
