Chapter 7 The Final Breakup
Pei Sijin's mood visibly improved.
He sat down casually and crossed his legs.
"Since I gave it, it's fine if it's ruined. I don't mind."
"Zhiyuan, don't be so serious. At worst, I'll buy you a new one—"
I said coldly, "Which eye of yours sees that this watch was from you?"
Pei Sijin sneered lightly. "I gave it myself. How could I not recognize it? Back then you wanted this watch, but it was out of stock everywhere—"
He broke off halfway and suddenly froze.
Back then, the watch I wanted had been out of stock in the country. Yet on my birthday, I had received two nearly identical ones.
One was the one he had specially asked his cousin abroad to bring back.
The other had been bought by my father in Hong Kong.
This model had different versions released in different regions.
The Hong Kong version had over ten small diamonds added to the dial.
Just like the one on my wrist, with tiny diamonds sparkling like stars on the face.
Pei Sijin fell silent.
Su Yu tugged at his sleeve. "What's wrong? Did you give her that watch?"
He remained silent.
"What does it have to do with him? Su Yu, are you going to pay or not?"
No one spoke up for her anymore.
Su Yu gritted her teeth and stubbornly said, "How could a watch break so easily? Pei Sijin is right. Your cheap watch was already broken. You're framing me, aren't you?"
At this point, I had lost all interest in continuing the game.
I apologized to the other players and the DM, then dialed 110.
Because before we came, Yueyue had dragged me to film a vlog.
In the video, my watch was clearly ticking normally, with no issues.
In the end, the police determined that Su Yu had ruined my watch with the splash.
Su Yu froze entirely.
She looked pleadingly at Pei Sijin.
But Pei Sijin only stared at me with a heavy expression.
"Don't bother looking," I said. "Su Yu, if you still want to deny responsibility, I'll call your counselor with today's surveillance footage."
Yueyue snorted too. "Young but full of schemes."
Today's Scripted Mystery Game ended unhappily.
After we left, Pei Sijin suddenly shook off Su Yu and caught up with me.
"I'll compensate for that watch on Su Yu's behalf and return it to you."
I curled my lips sarcastically. "Why? Still thinking of standing up for your good Gaming Buddy at a time like this?"
He shook his head.
"It's not to take the blame for her. I wronged you. I didn't expect our argument to turn out like this."
Pei Sijin knew this better than anyone.
This was the last gift my father had given me before he passed away.
I was truly fed up.
"Who said it was an argument? Can't you understand the words 'break up'?"
Pei Sijin's pupils shrank, and he halted his steps.
"You always thought I was fussing because I minded other women. But what I really mind is your complete lack of boundaries!"
"You claim you don't see your Gaming Buddy as a woman, but after the In-Person Meetup, you discovered she was a girl and still had no sense of restraint.
You wiped her mouth while eating, gave her the same treatment as your girlfriend, and even buckled her underwear for her.
What a refreshingly unique relationship. "
"I'm really tired and I don't care anymore. I won't get involved in your business with other women. Just seeing it disgusts me."
I looked at him indifferently.
"I tell you one last time. We're completely over."
