Chapter 6 The Ruined Watch
Everyone was stunned.
I hadn't expected Su Yu to be so ruthless.
My clothes and hair were soaked. I looked like a drowned rat, utterly disheveled.
Suddenly, something occurred to me. I screamed belatedly and quickly took off my wristwatch.
I wiped it over and over.
This watch wasn't waterproof.
No matter how hard I tried, its second hand slowed down more and more until it finally stopped.
I trembled with rage.
Su Yu jumped at my reaction.
"...It's just a cup of water. I didn't do it on purpose. Why can't you take it?"
"Did I agree to let you splash water on me?!"
Yueyue didn't know why I was reacting so strongly, but she chimed in anyway.
"The DM said to just mean it lightly. But you got creative and hid a cup of water under the table. How can you still claim it wasn't on purpose?"
My eyes reddened. I flung the watch in front of Su Yu. "This watch got ruined by your splash. Compensate me!"
Su Yu bit her lip, about to say something, when Pei Sijin suddenly stood up and pulled her behind him.
He tossed a box of tissues at me. "Wipe yourself clean first. It's just a small thing. Is it worth making such a big deal?"
I didn't take the tissues and stared stubbornly at Su Yu.
"I said, compensate me!"
One of the other players nearby recognized the watch brand and tsked. "That watch costs nearly twenty thousand. It's not cheap. Ruining it is heartbreaking."
Hearing that, Su Yu's face gradually paled.
Pei Sijin frowned. "What compensate or not? How do you know the watch was ruined by Su Yu's splash? Maybe it was broken already. Why be so aggressive?"
After saying that, he looked closely and smiled.
"This watch... isn't the one I gave you on your eighteenth birthday? I didn't expect you to still wear it."
"Since you can't bear to part with me, why argue?"
