Chapter Seven

Hudson

It’s been two days since I spoke with Grayson, and I made the mistake of sitting with Mia at lunch, and another whole day since I had her alone in the classroom. For now, I’ve not done anything about my feelings and I’ve not given into the temptation, but I’m not sure how much longer I can resist.

I’m burying it in the hope it will go away. Just like the memory of her and those damn cherries — fuck, that was hot. I’ve spent the last two nights wondering what she could do with her tongue on my cock.

I taught for years before I became Dean and not once in all that time did I ever find a student attractive. Not once was I ever tempted.

This is a midlife crisis. That’s all it is.

It can’t be anything more.

It’s Saturday morning and I’m cruising down the coastal road on my bike.

My custom Harley Davidson Street Glide is my guilty pleasure, and so’s the leather jacket I throw on every time I ride. It’s so soft it molds to my body like a second skin.

When I get out on the road like this, I’m finally able to shed the responsibilities that weigh down my life. The responsibilities of my job and that of my family; of the name I belong to.

When I’m out here, I’m just Hudson.

Today, I’m out trying to rid myself of the temptation of one black-haired brat. A brat who haunts my work, my dreams, and every damn thought that enters my mind.

A woman running up ahead catches my attention.

I’m out early, and don’t usually see many pedestrians at this time.

From the back you could almost mistake her for the student I’m trying to forget about.

Maybe that’s just what I need. To get someone else under me, to distract myself with another warm body.

Her hair is braided in a long plait down her back, and her slim figure is encased in Lycra. My body is definitely onboard with getting her in bed.

I power past, stopping about two-hundred meters ahead and wait for her to catch up, ready to try my luck with a complete stranger. Maybe I should download that app Mia was on the other night…

I freeze as I pull my helmet off. She’s five meters away from me and I’ve finally got a glimpse of her face.

Mia Whitlock. You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.

“Are you following me?” She comes to a stop in front of me, her chest heaving with every breath she takes. My eyes find the swell of her cleavage, trembling with every harsh exhale.

“I didn’t realize it was you.”

“You just stop for random women?” Her eyebrows raise as she questions me.

“Something like that,” I mutter. “You’re a long way from home.” Has she run all this way? At this time of the morning?

“I like running.” She shrugs. “It’s a good stress reliever.”

I can think of another way I’d like to relieve stress. Especially with her.

“You ever been on a bike?” What am I doing?

She smirks at me. “Can’t say I have. You offering?”

I reach behind me and get the spare helmet out of the box. “Yeah, I am.” Bad idea. Really fucking bad idea.

“You sure you want my sweaty body pressed up against you?”

You have no idea.

I take her in from her shoes to the top of her head. Stunning.

“I’ve had worse,” I rasp.

“Anyone would think you were flirting with me. But that couldn’t possibly be the case, could it?”

“Wouldn’t dream of it.”

“That’s what I thought.” She takes the helmet from my hands and fits it onto her head. She looks hot as fuck and the thought of her body pressed against mine has my cock as hard as stone.

I am crossing so many lines right now.

“Sit behind me and wrap your arms around my waist.” She does as I say, probably the first time she’s not questioned something I’ve asked her to do. “Good girl, sweet pea.” The words slip out before I can stop them.

“Believe me, I am anything but a good girl.” Her words are whispered into my ear as she wraps herself around me and my body tenses with need.

“Trust me, I’m aware.” I release the kick stand and rev the engine. “Hold on.” Her hands dig into my sides as I pull back onto the road.

She squeals as the power of the engine rumbles between our thighs, the vibrations turning me on like they never have before, though it might also have something to do with the tight, hot body wrapped around me.

I drive for about an hour with neither of us saying anything. We don’t need to communicate, our bodies are saying everything they need to. The two of us just enjoy the forbidden ride.

We pass a fast-food truck and I decide to stop a few miles down the road at one of my favorite spots to get breakfast.

If this is our one and only time alone together, then I want to make it last as long as possible.

I want her to myself for as long as I can get away with.

Before life and responsibilities rear their ugly heads.

Before I have to give her back and pretend she doesn’t get my heart racing and my dick hard.

Mia

I shouldn’t be here. I should have carried on running and not given into temptation and got on the back of his bike. Feeling his body beneath my hands, the sheer size of him, the hardness of his muscles, is absolute torture.

I want this man so badly.

I’ve come with his name on my lips more times than I can count this week. I even had to buy new batteries for my vibrator, it was getting such a workout. And now his body is pressed to mine and there’s nothing I can do about it.

Right?

We can’t do anything. We’d be risking everything if we were found out.

But what if we weren’t? What if we scratched this itch, got each other out of our systems and moved on? What if nobody found out?

“What are we doing?” I ask when Hudson pulls into a small gravel parking lot.

“Getting something to eat.” He climbs off the bike, his muscular legs encased in dark jeans, his leather jacket stretched over the broad expanse of his back.

“Come on.” He holds his hand out to me and I gladly take it.

His warm, hard palm closing over my much smaller one.

He doesn’t let go of me as he leads us toward what can only be described as a shack.

“Should I worry?”

“Definitely not. You’re about to have the best breakfast burrito of your life.”

“I’m glad I went for a run this morning, I’m going to need the extra calories burned.”

“You definitely don’t need to worry about that.”

“Why Dean Davenport, do you find me attractive?” I tease him.

“You know I do.” His response throws me. I didn’t expect him to just admit it like that. “Morning Marco, how’ve you been?” He greets the guy who’s currently cooking up a concoction of foods that, I have to admit, smell amazing.

“Hudson, how you doing, my man? Good to see you.”

“Good, thanks. I’d like to introduce you to a friend of mine. Marco, meet Mia. Mia, this is Marco, the best chef in L.A.”

“It’s nice to meet you, Marco.” I wave with my free hand; Hudson still has my other in a firm grip.

“Oh, darling, the pleasure’s all mine.” He turns to Hudson. “How’d you land a beauty like that?” he stage-whispers and I can’t help but grin at him.

“Friend, Marco.”

“Suuure.” He winks at me. “Two of your usual?”

“Please,” Hudson confirms and reaches into his pocket to pull out his wallet.

“Oh,” I gasp. “I don’t have my purse on me.”

“Don’t insult me.” He doesn’t even turn to look at me as he speaks.

“This isn’t a date, Hudson.”

“I don’t care. You will never pay when you’re with me.” Why does everything he does have to turn me on?

“So old school,” I taunt him.

“No, just raised a gentleman.”

“I hope that’s not always the case.”

His eyes darken, his stare holding me captive. “Not when it counts.”

Holy shit.
