Chapter 18
When we returned, I quickly explained the situation to the few creations who were sentient enough to understand. There was some confusion and sadness but, in the end, they understood the need to migrate.
Tara showed up not long after, the glowing orb in hand and a pensive look on her face.
“Bianca,” she began, palming the orb around and round before her. “I don’t feel right about this.” She looked over the creatures I’d created, guilt and pain in her eyes. “You can’t just kill them. Look at them. They’re so cute. And they might be illegal, but they’re alive. I know you said you could do this, but I don’t think you’ve really thought this through. I know I hadn’t until I was walking up and really thought about it. You’re going to regret this and hate yourself forever if you go through with this.”
“First, stop doing that,” I whispered so my creations wouldn't panic. Putting my hands over Tara’s, I forced her to stop rolling the orb around in her hands. “You’ve got a bomb in your hands, and I do not want to accidentally go up because your hand slipped. Secondly, I agree.” My lips split into a large grin. “That’s why we’re not going to go with the first plan.”“You’re not?”
“Nope. We're going to hide them.”
Tara’s brows furrowed and then she smiled. “Good, because I don’t think I could have lived with myself either.” She turned to watch the snow creatures as they pulled their possessions out of their homes. Percy was amongst them, helping to move things along. “But where are you going to put them?”
I bounced on my toes, my hands spread wide. “No idea.”
“Bianca. You’re joking, right?”
I grinned as I pivoted and walked towards Percy.
“You’re joking right?” Tara called after me with an exasperated groan.
Resisting the urge to giggle, I stopped by Percy and wrapped my arms around his waist. I pressed my lips to his shoulder. When he didn’t turn from talking to Ackle, I bit down.
“Hold on a moment. Your merciful creator wants my attention.”
Ackle smiled softly before leaving to help the others.
Percy grabbed me by the back of the neck, then angled my head back until he was nose to nose with me. “Bite me, will you? You forget. I bite back. Harder.”
A shiver of delight ripped through me at his threat and settled between my thighs.
Percy inhaled deeply before groaning. “You’re going to be the death of me, I can already tell.”
I grinned up at him, not fazed one bit. “I know I said I trusted you, but I kind of need some direction. Like, where are we going to put them all. Plus Tara is kind of freaking out.” I jerked my head as much as I could in his hold toward Tara who had gained some new friends. The snow babies seem to immediately think anyone with me was automatically a new friend.
Percy released my neck but didn’t release me. His hands skimmed down my sides before grabbing hands full of my ass.
I yipped and wiggled in his grasp. “We have to talk about appropriate times and places for groping ‘cause now is definitely not the time.”
Percy bent his head so his mouth was by my ear. “So you’re saying you don’t want me to throw you down in the snow right here and mount you the way I’ve been dying to these last few days?”
My mouth suddenly dry, I licked my lips. “N-no?”
“No? You don’t sound very sure about that.” He pulled me tight against him so I could feel his hard length against my stomach. “I think if I put my fingers in your pants right now, you soak them. Should I check?”
I shook my head vehemently, swallowing hard.
“Are you sure?” The fingers on my ass crept deceptively closer to my center, and I couldn’t bring myself to stop him. In fact, I was two seconds away from letting him fuck me right here in front of Tara and all my creations.
“For gods’ sake, get a fucking room,” Tara snapped. She stepped up to us and shoved the orb between us and into my hands. “Here, you hold this. Maybe it will cool your raging libido knowing you could kill us all.”
A few of my creations nearby gave us a startled look. I quickly grasped the orb with a reassuring smile. “She’s joking. Right?” I bit out between clenched teeth.
“Yeah, yeah.” Tara waved me off and focused her attention on Percy. “So, where’s this great place you know about? And while we’re at it, what’s your intentions with my best friend?”
“Tara!” I hissed, the orb keeping me from smacking the crap out of her.
She ignored me and stared Percy down. “So? You over me already?”
My stomach sank, and I hated that it actually mattered to me what he would answer. I knew it didn’t matter what Percy said. Tara was with the prince. She wouldn’t take him, anyway. But did that mean he stopped wanting her?
Percy laughed and wrapped an arm around my shoulders. “I don’t know if I should say sorry for chasing after you all these years or not, but there's no one I want other than ice bitch here.”
“Hey!” I elbowed him in the stomach and then quickly gripped the orb to my chest when it shifted. “I thought you promised not to call me that anymore?”
Percy leaned over and pecked me on the cheek. “That was during our truce. I’d say we’re a bit past that now that I’ve been knot deep in your—”
“Okay, okay,” I cut him off with a grin. “I get the picture.”
“I think we all got the picture.” Tara waggled her brows at me suggestively, making me really wish I didn’t have a bomb in my hands right now. “I’m happy for you. When Percy kept coming to me for that potion every year, I kept screaming to myself: ‘You two need to just fuck each other’s brain out already.’ But it seems like you both have to do everything the hard way, as usual.”
“Well, something is certainly hard.” Percy let out a low growl that shot straight to my pussy.
Tara groaned and rolled her eyes. “You two are going to be insufferable, aren’t you?”
I beamed at her. “Payback’s a bitch.”
Ackle stepped in before Tara could respond. “Creator, we are ready for the move.”
“Good. Percy? Do you want to lead the way?” I asked expectantly. I didn’t want my creations to know I had no clue where they were going to live. It didn’t exactly strike confidence in their leader to be out of the loop.
“Yeah, this way.” Percy waved an arm over his shoulder to direct them back toward the Candy Forest.
I turned to Tara and held up the orb. “What am I supposed to do with this?”
“When they’re all cleared out, blow it up.” She gestured to the makeshift village
“What? Why?” I gaped at her.
“You want the council to believe you got rid of them, right? Then you need to at least make it look good. Throw some chunks of snow around, make some ice corpses, and blow it all up.” She smacked her hands together and made an explosion sound with her mouth.
I clapped my mouth shut and gave her a dry look. “Fine. You hold this while I get to work.”
By the time I finished, all my creatures had emptied out of the village. Tara handed me the orb to place in the middle of the area, then we walked out of the blast radius toward where everyone had gone.
Pausing for a moment, I just looked at what had started as an experiment and had turned into so much more. I’d definitely learned my lesson about playing with people's lives. No more playing god for me.
“Bianca.” Tara placed her hand on my shoulder. “It’s time.”
I swallowed and nodded. “Right. What do I have to do again?”
“One good hit will set the bomb off. Just don’t miss.”
I laughed nervously. “Thanks, that doesn’t make me anxious at all.” I gathered my powers up inside of me, then drew them into my palm to make a bluish white ball of light. With a deep breath, I shoved the ball forward, aiming for the shining orb in the distance.
For a moment, I’d thought I’d missed. Then an explosion rocked Tara and me off our feet. The orb burst into an expanding ring of white light that decimated everything around it. When it passed, all that was left of Raspberry Crest was a pile of white and pink chunks of snow and ice.
Percy bounded up to my side in his beast form, shifting back when he saw me. “Are you alright?”
“Yeah. I’m good.” I pressed my face into his chest. “Let’s get everyone to their new home.”
