Chapter 19
Percy led me over to a large abyss on the other side of the Vanilla Mountain. I leaned over the side and peered down into its depths. I couldn’t see the bottom.
I turned to Percy with a frown. “You want to put my creations in a hole in the ground? Like, I know a bomb wasn’t exactly the best idea, but I’m not sure how this is any better?”
Percy crossed his arms over his chest and cracked his neck. “Look, it’s not endless. There’s a huge cavern down there. With these huge rainbow ice walls, when the sun pours into it from different other cracks, the light reflects down there. It’s not even dark, well…” He glanced up at the stars in the sky. “During the day, at least.”
“And how exactly do you know this?” Tara stopped beside me and glanced at the abyss. “You’ve been down there?”
“Yes. Once.” Percy sighed. “I promise, it’ll be perfect. The council won’t be able to find them, and that’s the point right?”
“Yeah and no one else either,” I muttered, not really sold on the idea. “How exactly are we going to get them down there?”
“Magic?” Percy arched a brow at me.
I put my hand on my hip and cocked it to one side. “Alright, smart guy. Let’s start with how you got down there originally.”
Percy rubbed the back of his head and grinned sheepishly. “The hard way. I fell.”
I winced. “Ouch. Okay. Uh… Hmmm. I guess I could make a ladder…” I glanced over the creatures and realized some of them walked on all four legs. “Maybe stairs would be better?”
“As good an idea as any. Why not?” Tara shrugged.
I pursed my lips and stepped up to the edge. I’d made my house out of ice and snow, but making stairs was going to be a bit tricky. I had to pull the water from the snow, which was abundant, but I wasn’t sure how far down this abyss went. There was a good chance I was going to be completely depleted after this.
Blowing out a breath, I wiggled my fingers and bounced in place for a second to hype myself up. I could do this. I’d fought off shifters. I’d built a bomb. Well, Tara did most of the bomb thing, but I set it off. I could build a freaking staircase.
I pulled up my well of power and drew the snow on the ground to me. As prepared as I could be, I took the first step. When a solid slab of ice formed beneath my foot, I breathed a sigh of relief. One down, an unknown amount to go.
As I prepared to step again, Tara grabbed my arm.
“What?”
“Rails. Probably a good idea to make railings. Some of these little ones don’t look like they can walk a straight line, let alone a steep staircase.”
I rolled my shoulder and then my neck as I blew out a breath. “Okay. Got it. Rails. I can do that.” I wasn’t sure how I was going to do all these stairs, but sure, I might as well throw some railings on it. Why not? Why not indeed.
Regaining my focus, I pulled more snow to me, molded it with my magic, and stepped down. The next step held as well.
I almost stepped down again and then remembered the rails. I dragged some of the ice up to make rails on the first two steps before stepping down again.
Down a dozen steps or so, and it didn’t feel like I was getting any closer to the bottom. I sighed and paused on the last step I’d made and peered back into the darkness. It’d be nice if I could fucking see.
“Tara?” I called out behind me. “Can I get some light down here?”
“Oh! Sure. One sec,” Tara responded, and then a moment later, a ball of light zoomed past me and smashed into the ground. It kept glowing to provide a constant source of light for the cavern. The glow bounced off the ice columns throughout the space, causing them to shine in different tones of colors.
Percy hadn’t been lying. The inside of it was huge, but at least I could see where I was going now. And I was going to need a lot more ice.
I soldiered on. And on. And on. And then some more.
By the time I reached the bottom, I was sweating. My body shook from the excursion of all the magic I expended and who knew how much snow I’d sucked up from the top of the chasm.
But I made it. I leaned against the closest support for the ice stairs and sank down to the ground, resting my head back against it.
The thumping of feet warned me of the oncoming horde of my creations as they came bounding down the stairs. I opened my eyes, though they felt heavy and ready to fall out of my head. I wasn’t sure I had any magic left to save them if the stairs failed, but I had to try.
Thankfully, they held, and I didn’t have to kill myself trying to save one of them. Tara and Percy brought up the rear and stopped in front of me.
“That was incredible,” Tara gushed, turning around the space. “This whole place is just… wow. I can’t believe this has been down here the whole time.”
Percy knelt to the ground to kneel beside me, brushing his fingers across my cheek. “You’re amazing, Bianca.”
I smiled sleepily. “Thanks.”
“Rest.” He cupped the side of my face lightly. “I’ll get them situated.”
I nodded, yawning as my eyes slipped closed.
When I woke, I was snuggled up against Percy's furry chest. We bounced with each step moving upward. I burrowed further into him as my mind slipped back into darkness.
The next time I woke, we were in what remained of the village. I was curled up against Percy’s beast form. I shifted in his lap and stretched, glancing around the rubble in confusion.
“Hey,” Percy grumbled as he pulled me tighter against him. “Come back here.”
I smiled down at him and then poked him in the chest. “You’re the weirdo that fell asleep in the middle of a disaster area. Why didn’t you just take me home?”
Percy cracked an eye open to look at me. “Tara made a mess and wanted to clean it up before you came home.”
My brows furrowed.
Why would Tara want to clean up? That wasn’t like her. She was happy to make a complete mess of my house and leave. In fact, she’d done it many times before. I’d gripe at her and she’d apologize, only to do it all over again the next time. Great friend, she was. Cleaner, she was not.
I rolled over so I could face Percy completely, then pushed on his chest. “Percy.” He didn’t respond. “Percy. Wake the fuck up. I know you’re not asleep.”
Percy growled, grabbed me, and rolled us so that I was on the bottom. Burying his face in my chest, he rubbed his snout over my breasts until my nipples pebbled.
“Percy.” I gripped the back of his head. “Why didn’t we go back to the house?”
Instead of answering me, he nudged his nose until he drew my shirt up, my breasts bare to the cold air. His hot tongue slid across my breast and twisted around my nipple.
I gasped and arched my back. Heat pooled low in need. The longer he flicked at my nipples, the less my mind focused on what it was I was asking about.
Claws curled beneath my pants and pulled them down my hips. That amazing tongue shifted down my body. Strong hands cupped my thighs and spread them until he reached their apex.
My hips bucked at the first touch of his tongue lapping at my folds. The long wet muscle licked me from ass to clit. My fingers found Percy’s ears and fingered them as he devoured me.
The low growl that came out of him vibrated against my pussy, liquid gushing out of me as I came apart at the seams. I’d never came so fast, even from my own hand.
Which begged to question why was Percy tongue fucking me here and not at my house, where we could have even more fun with toys?
Percy didn’t release me after I came. If anything, he licked me harder, faster. My heart stuttered in my chest, my clit so sensitive to his ministrations that I struggled not to push him away.
“Percy, fuck. Percy,” I panted and tugged on his ears. “You need… Gods… Talk to me.”
Growling deeply, Percy lifted his head slightly to meet my gaze. “Do you really want to talk right now? I promised I was going to lick your cunt until you couldn’t stand it, and I meant it.”
I let out a shaky laugh. “Oh, I believe you and definitely want that, but…” I drew in a short breath and blew it out. “You need to talk to me.”
Percy huffed and lowered my hips back to the ground. “Fine. You want to talk. Let’s talk.”
Pushing up on my elbows, I blew a piece of hair out of my face. “What’s your problem?”
“I don’t have a problem. I just want to fuck you without the mating heat controlling me.” While he said nothing was wrong, his body said something else. His ears twitched on his head. His jaw clenched and unclenched. Something was bothering him.
“You do too. And until you tell me, this isn’t going anywhere.” I snapped my legs closed and rolled my shirt back down.
Fur rippled over him until Percy sat there in his human form, his muscles tensed on his chest. He leaned over me and caged me in so I couldn’t leave.
“If we go back, then reality starts again and whatever this is,” he jerked his head between us, “will be over.”
I blinked. “What?”
“You’re going to go back home and then realize that this was just something you needed to get out of your system and then we’ll both be alone…again.”
My gaze softened. “Percy. No, I don’t want that. I want you. Now. Tomorrow. Every mating season. This isn’t just something I’ll get over after the novelty wears off.” I cupped his face and wrapped my legs around his waist, dragging him closer to me. “Besides, you have absolutely ruined me for any other dick ever. Like, forever and ever. Nothing and no one will ever compare.”
Percy’s lips ticked up. “Not even Junior?”
“That’s fucked up, you know that?”
He brushed his lips against mine. “Yeah, but you like fucked up.”
I grinned and rubbed myself against his growing length. “Then let’s be fucked up together.”
Without warning, Percy flipped me over, pushed my face down into the ground, and jerked my hips back until he sank deep inside of me, making us both moan. “You don’t have to ask me twice.”
