Chapter 7 /Edited
A week has passed. I have avoided all the wolves and Eric and I go to the gym everyday. I manage to read all the books Celeste gave me and Im starting to understand their ways of doing things.
I wouldn't have been interested in this if it didn't involve me. Why do I have to be involved in these things? Anyway. I was walking home from gym and spotted Eric.
He was sitting in the cafe with a girl. I couldn't help but feel enraged. I walked away and just ignored it. I read that if your mate doesn't want you they can reject you.
It also said rejection could mentally break you. I don't know if I could be heart broken for a guy I barely know. I continued walking and felt as if I was beings followed. I thought it was Eric.
I turned to see two creeps looking at me with smirks on their faces. I ignored them and started to walk a bit faster. I looked behind me to see they were still following me. Why me? I mentally asked myself.
I was almost home when one of the guys tapped on my shoulder. "Hey beautiful. Where you going in such a hurry?" He asked. He looked uglier then a pig.
"Im going home. Now leave me alone." I said.
"Alone? How about we go with you? Make sure you get home safe." I took a step back and held a serious face.
"No." I said. I wanted to walk away but one of them grabbed me by my arm.
"Come on baby girl. Don't be nasty." He said. Thats when I saw him.
"She isn't nasty. She is just stubborn." Eric said. He put his arm around me and the guys looked at him.
"And who are you?" They asked.
"Im her boyfriend." Eric punched one of them and they started to fight. I tried to stop it but I couldn't. I looked around to see people staring.
I felt someone take my hand. I looked to see Celeste. Jason and Liam stopped the fight. The two creeps ended up with a bloddy nose and a blue eye. "Leave." Jason said. The two guys walked away and Jason turned to Eric.
"Lets get Blake home." He said. They all walked me home. When we got to my house I let them all in. Eric and a bloody lip and he didn't even look at me. I felt hurt.
"Are you ok Blake?" Celeste asked.
"Yeah. Just a bit shaken. Eric." I called him. He looked at me with a cold look in his eyes. "Thanks for helping me." I said. He smiled and looked at me.
"You can't even deal with two creeps yet you go to the gym." He said. What is wrong with him? I thank him and here he is saying Im not strong enough to handle myself. Hybrids and their attitudes.
Wait. Has he been watching the whole week. Who's a creep now? I gave him a death stare and looked away. "Question. What are you guys doing here? I get that Eric has been watching me but the rest of you. Don't you have pack duties to attend to?" They looked at me surprised.
"Did you read the books we gave you?" Celeste asked.
"Yeah. I finished all three. That doesn't matter, answer my question." I said. They looked at each other then back at me.
"We kinda ran off to check on you." Jason said. I looked at them and they gave me smiles. I just rolloed my eyes.
"Your dad isn't going to like that." Eric said with a cocky smile on his face. Man his jawline is perfect. Snap out of it Blake.
"Yeah so we have to go before he finds out." They said and got up to leave. Celeste glared at Eric before she walked out. I closed the door behind them and sat next to Eric and checked his lip.
"Well your lip is healed." I said. Eric didn't say a word to me. "Why didn't you tell me you were a hybrid or that I was your mate?" I asked. He didn't look at me nor did he answer me.
"Are you deaf? Eric, Im talking to you." I told him. He still didn't look at me or utter a word. "Eric. Eric look at me." I moved his face so I could see it. His eyes were glowing their emerald colour. It looked beautiful and then it went back to normal.
"Sorry. I was just thinking." He said. I didn't believe him. "Right. Liar." I whispered. He looked at me and made me look at him. "You think I didnt hear that. You are so mean." He said.
His face was so close I could feel his breath. His touch was warm and I felt butterflies in my stomach. I moved my head and went to the kitchen. Eric followed me and had a questionable look on his face. "Why did you run away?" He asked.
"I didn't run away." I said.
"Yes you did." He said with a smirk on his face. I wanted to tell him to leave but he spoke. "You never experienced this, have you?" He asked. I kept quiet, not wanting to answer.
"I'll take your silence as a yes. Why dont we go out tomorrow?" He asked. I wanted to say something when I remembered that he was with another girl.
"What about your lady friend from the café?" I asked.
He looked at me and stood up straight. He chuckled and I found that weird. Why was he laughing. "You being jealous is cute. And that lady was my cousin." He said.
Ah shit. I need to stop jumping to conclusion. "I would never take you for a person who gets jealous." He said. I gave him a fake smile.
"Your not funny Eric." I said. I was about to walk away when he had me against the wall.
Why did he have to have super speed. His face was so close to mine. I thought he was going to kiss me. Instead he whispered in my ear. "You should stop walking away from people. Its rude." He said.
My legs were getting weaker by the second. He looked at me in my eyes and kissed me on the cheek. "Next time. You visit me." He said and used his super speed and ran off.
Who's running away now? God I feel stupid right now, I cant think straight. I sat on the floor and kept thinking of how close our lips were. Am I an awkward person? Im a weird? Or am I just falling stupidly in love with a hybrid?
Why does my life have to be so complicated? I got off the floor and went to my room and desperately took a needed shower. A cold shower.
The next day I got up early and got ready for gym. I packed my bag, got dressed and left. I walked down to The Star and went inside. Once I was ready I went to the treadmill. I started running while listen to my music.
As I ran, I thought of how fast werewolves could run. They run twice as fast as me. I kept running and running. Thinking of what Eric said yesterday. I should stop walking away from people. I thought about how I walked away from all the opportunities to make friend in the city.
How I walked away from all my feelings. How I walked away from my family and just shut them out. I thought about all of it, I didn't realise I have been running on the treadmill for two hours straight.
How did time pass so quickly. How deep in thought was I. I got off the treadmill and headed to the bikes. I peddled on the bike and thought of riding my bike with my dad when I was younger.
How he lied when he said he would hold my bike as I tried to ride it without training wheels. I imagined that he was here with me, cycling in the forest. Just listening to nature and its music.
I stopped when I felt a bit dizzy. I didn't eat yet. I went to the bar and bought a salad with a protein shake. I sat down and started eating. I paused my music and finished my meal.
Can I even call salad a meal? I got up and went to the locker rooms. I opened my locker and got my things. I left and went home. I didn't want to walk due to yesterday's incident so I jogged. When I got home I showered all the sweat off of me.
God I smelled. After my shower I dried myself off and went to my closet. I put on a denim shorts and a check shirt. I put on my black puma sneakers and headed out.
I thought about it and decided to go to Celeste place. It was a long walk but I made it. Ok. To be honest, I was out of breath. Their house is far. I walked up to the front door and knocked.
I stood outside for a good couple of minutes when a tanned woman with blonde hair opened the door. "Hi there. Can I help you?" She asked. Guess she doesn't know me. "Is Celeste perhaps home?" I asked. She looked at me from head to toe.
"Look, I know your wolves. I just need to speak to Celeste about something." I explained. She looked surprised and she let me in.
"Do you know where the office is?" She asked. I nodded a no and she sighed. "Follow me." She said coldly. Well. Isnt she a ray of sunshine.
We walked up to the third floor and stopped in front of a two door room. She knocked and peeked in by the door. She whispered so I couldn't hear her. Ok. She is a total bitch.
She let me in and walked away. "Well. She was nice." I said. Celeste and the Thompson family looked happy to see me.
"Welcome back Blake." Mrs Thompson said.
I smiled. "Its nice to see you again. I just came by to talk about something. It won't take long." I explained.
"Take your time." Leah said. Celeste looked at me like she knew I was hiding something. We sat on the couch and they waited for me to speak.
"I have been thinking for a while. I got to know more about wolves and hybrids and dont mind any of it. I still see you guys as normal people. There is just one problem."
"What's that?" Mr Thompson asked.
"Isn't it a bit dangerous for me to know. And why do you have a problem with Eric." Their facial expression tunred into a serious one. "I know being a hybrid with powers is a danger but cant you get used to it?" I asked.
They looked at each other and then Jason spoke.
"The thing about Eric is that he doesn't want to cooperate.
His territory has a pack which he is the alpha of but he doesn't want to trust us.
His previous territory was taking by a pack so he had trouble trusting wolf packs but his own. " Jason explained.
"And since your his mate and your mostly here with us. Its just angers him more." Celeste said. "He needs human blood to survive. He cant really survive on animal blood like other vampires. He needs human blood to satisfy his hunger for blood." Celeste continued.
"Thats why you didn't want me to be close with him." I said. Celeste nodded her head. I sighed and leaned back on the couch. "Then why has he been so absent. I only see him every second day." I explain.
"His getting blood cause for some reason he cant control his thirst like he used to." Mr Thompson explained. I played with my fingers and remembered that Eric told me to visit him but I didn't know where he lived.
"Where does Eric live?" I asked. They all looked at Mr Thompson before he spoke.
"From here, just go straight into the woods and when you find a wolf facing you just explain why your there." He instructed.
I nodded and said goodbye to them. Celeste walked me to the door. "Are you sure you want to go there alone?" She asked.
"Yes." I replied. She gave me a hug then I left. More exercise for me. Yay .
