Chapter 6/Edited

The holidays finally started. I was still in bed on my laptop, looking for a gym. There were only two. The Star and K's power. I closed my laptop and got dressed. I put on a shorts with a white top. I went downstairs to see my mom taking off her cast.

Its been two weeks and she could finally take it off. She got it off and she seemed happy. "Happy to have the cast off?" I asked.

"Very. Well, I have work to catch up on and you can do whatever you want." She said.

She grabbed her car keys and left. Why did she have to be a workaholic? I grabbed my phone and left the house. I walked towards The star gym and went inside.

I walked around and ended up at the receptionist. "Hi. Can I help you?" She asked.

"Yeah. How can I get a membership?" I asked. She took out some files and handed it to me.

"Fill these out. Everything you need to know is there." She explained. I read through the papers and found it good. Only had to pay two hundred bucks per month.

I signed the papers and gave it to the receptionist. "Would you like to pay in advance for this month?" She asked. I took out two hundred bucks and handed it to her. "Here is you membership card. Let me get someone to show you around."

She picked up the phone and called someone. I tall guy walked up to me. He had blonde hair and brown eyes. He was built. "Hi. Im Aaron." He introduced himself.

"Im Blake."

"Follow me. I'll show you around." He said. I followed him and he showed me around. He showed me the locker rooms, where the bathrooms were and a cafeteria with protein shakes.

He showed me everything and which locker is mine. "And here is your gym bag." He handed me a blue gym bag that said 'The Star'.

"Thanks. I'll come around tomorrow." I said. He showed me the exit and I left.

I walked back home to drop my gym bag at home. After that, I went to look for a job. Just to keep me occupied. I stopped a cafe called 'Bunny Burrow'. Why does everything have weird names?

I walked in and to the guy standing behind the counter. "Hi. Can I get you something?" He asked.

"Is there perhaps a job opening?" I asked.

"Come with me." He said.

I followed him behind the counter and to the manager's office. He knocked on the door and went inside. The manager gestured for me to sit and told the other man to leave.

"What can I do for you miss..."

"Blake Parker." He smiled and started again.

"What can I fo for you miss Parker?" He asked.

"I would like a part time job. Just until school starts." I explained.

He had a smile but then it disappeared. "I would love to give you a job but there isn't an opening right now. Im sorry Miss Parker but the answer is no." He explained. There goes my plans for avoiding the wolves.

"Thats ok. Maybe next time." I said. I got up and left. I just felt upset. I wanted to keep busy, to keep my mind off of everything. I went back home and went straight to my bathroom to take a cold shower.

I grabbed my towel and got in the shower. The cold water ran down my body cooling my skin. I felt relaxed. I let my hair get wet and closed my eyes. Getting lost in my own thoughts.

Going to a calm place in my mind. I took a few deep breaths then opened my eyes. I turned off the shower and dried off. I put on a sweat pants and a black top.

I tied my wet hair into a messy bun and went to the kitchen. I took out a bottle of cold water then made my way to the living room. I sat down and turned on the tv and played Grey's anatomy.

After three episodes, I heard a knock on the front door. I paused the film and hoped the person would go away. I just wanted to be alone. The person knocked again and I ignored it. Thats when they spoke.

"Blake we know your home, we heard the tv." Leah said loud enough for me to hear. I walked to the door but stopped before I opened it. I hesitated.

"Just open the door. We want to talk and explain everything." Celeste said.

I grabbed the door handle but didn't open. I didnt know what to do. "Listen. Yes were supernatural creatures and we didn't tell you. We're wolves and we have mates. Soul mates to be exact. We can find them by scent and touch." Jason said.

I was confused to why I needed to know this. "And why is that important? Why are you telling me about how you fall in love?" I asked. I heard one of them sigh.

"Because Eric is your mate." Celeste said in an irrated tone. I opened the door and let them in. We went to the living room and we sat down.

"How? Im not a wolf." I asked. I was still hurt to find out that Eric was a wolf but how can I be his mate?

"Eric isn't a wolf. He is a hybrid. Half wolf, half vampire." Celeste said. I was shock, lost for words.

"Wh-what does this have to do with me?" I asked. Getting a bit scared cause I know nothing of what is going on.

"Hybrids are rare and history says that hybrids mates are most likely to be human." Leah said. I held my head in my hands and took a deep breath. I couldn't look at them. I dont even know if I could trust them.

"Think about it. How Eric always walks you home. Telling you to stay away from us. Keep saying that you always have to be careful and safe." When Jason mentioned that, everything rushed to my head.

Everything he said was true. Eric always said those things. I knew he liked me and I don't know how I feel. "What is wrong with hybrids?" I asked. They never told me why he was so bad.

"Hybrids don't live in packs. They live alone and stay near other packs just to show their power. Eric's territory is just outside of ours and we made a contract with him. He doesn't hurt anyone from our territory and we let him stay in River Hollow." Leah explained.

I sat back in my chair and played with my fingers, trying to process all of this. I thought about when they almost fought with Eric at school. "That day at school on the bleachers. If he was my mate why did, or why are you trying to keep us apart?" I asked.

Celeste looked mad and Leah and Jason looked at each other. "That was because I don't trust him. Your my friend and I don't want you to get hurt." Celeste said. I took in what Celeste said. I never had anyone but my mom look out for me.

"Th-then what was that attack about? With that grey wolf?" I asked. They looked at each other then Leah spoke.

"That was a rogue. They were wolves who lived in a pack but due to some disagreements and breaking pack rules, they exile them from their pack."

"A better way of saying it is that once they get thrown out of their pack, their instincts revert back to a normal wolf and their human side just goes away." Jason continued explaining.

"Is there anything else I should know?" I asked. When they heard me say that, Im sure they realised that Im interested in knowing more. They smiled and Celeste took some books out of her bag.

"These are some books explaining everything. There are more books at the pack house... our house. You can come over whenever you like." Celeste said. I took the books and read the titles. 'Wolf knowledge and history' 'Pack rules and responsibilities' and 'Facts about hybrids'.

I am sure that last one is to understand Eric better. Due to him being a hybrid. I placed the books next to me and stood up. They stood and we walked to the front door.

"We just want to make sure that hybrid Eric wont hurt you." Jason said. I opened the door to see Eric.

"And why would I hurt my mate?" He looked at the others and they looked furious. "Better question. Why are pack wolves with my mate?"

I wanted to say something but Celeste spoke. "Maybe your to reckless."

"Why would I hurt my mate?" Eric asked again.

"You just existing could be a danger to her." Leah said.

Eric's emerald eyes turned to a dark black. My heart started racing. I didn't want to be in the middle of a fight. "You should leave." Eric suggested.

"Last time I checked this is my territory." Jason said. Eric got upset and I had to stop this.

"Hey-"

"I don't care. Blake is mine." Eric interrupted me. Thats it. Nobody interrupts me.

"Hey! I dont want you guys fighting in front of my house. Eric go home. The same goes for the three of you." I said. My voice was demanding and Eric's eyes turned back to green. They all looked at me and left.

I closed my door so I couldn't watch them leave. I stood there until I heard their cars drive off. I walked to the living room and read 'Wolf knowledge and history'. I opened to the first page and started reading.

It soon got dark and I headed to bed. I couldn't sleep so I kept reading the book. I was half way into the book when I started getting tired. I found out a lot of things about wolves and their history.

Turns out wolves can shift whenever they want and vampires are assholes. Im still team Edward in Twilight. I continued reading the book and finally finished it. I looked at the time to see it was one in the morning. I put the books on the nightstand and went to sleep.
