Chapter Thirty-Six
Jace
The sound of a door closing pulled me awake and I slowly blinked open my eyes, trying to get my bearings. I was just beginning to recognize the features of Liv’s living room when the couch shifted and the blanket around me lifted slightly. Olivia’s body slid in against me.
“Hey, hot stuff,” she said softly as she wrapped her arm around my waist. She pulled herself closer to me and I inhaled her sweet perfume as I nuzzled into her neck.
“Hey, sweetheart. How was your date?”
“It was great,” she said, snuggling closer as if she wanted the heat of my body to warm her.
“Where’s Kayden?” I asked, wrapping an arm around her and stroking her back.
“He went home because we agreed not to have sex on the first date this time. He dropped me off and told me to tell you that we’re all in.”
I perked right up. “You are? Both of you?” I squeezed her tight.
“Shh,” she said, giggling as she pointed to Kaylee’s room. “Yes, both of us. But this stays quiet until we’re sure it works.”
“Of course,” I said, crashing my lips against Liv’s. “I love you,” I whispered as I kissed along her jaw and down her neck.
“I love you too.” She laughed as I kissed under her ear and inhaled deeply.
“Sweetheart, I can smell Kayden on you,” I groaned, my dick twitching to life despite the sleep fog.
She chuckled. “We made out for a while—a long while. Do I taste like him too?”
I nuzzled into her neck. “This is really turning me on,” I confessed, pulling her against my aching dick. I brought my lips back to hers and swiped my tongue in her mouth. “You kind of do.”
She pressed her hips against mine and moaned softly. “Will you stay the night?”
I stroked her hair behind her ear and kissed her softly. “I’d love to, but what about Kaylee?”
“You’d have to sneak out pretty early. I just want to sleep next to you, please.”
“Of course I’ll stay,” I mumbled against her lips. “Should we move to your bed because this couch is not very big.”
“In a minute,” she said, rolling on top of me. She pulled her dress over her head and ground herself against my dick. “We fucked on this couch earlier; we can do it again now. Kayden and I hardcore made out, but that’s it, so I’m horny as hell.”
I chuckled. “By all means, use my dick to get yourself off, sweetheart. You want me to call him and show him what he did to you?”
She groaned at the idea as she rubbed herself against me. “He knows. When I got out of the car, he suggested I tell you to finish what he started.”
“God, you two make my dick hard all the time,” I said.
Her face morphed in pleasure as she rubbed herself back and forth on my dick.
Clearly, she wasn’t exaggerating about the state she’d finished that date in.
I brought her lips to mine and kissed her before whispering, “Are you just going to dry hump me?”
“You told me to use you. This is what I want.” She inhaled sharply. “Will you finish this way?”
I groaned. “I want to tell you no, because it makes me feel ridiculous. But yeah, if you keep doing that and making those tiny moans, I’m going to come in my pants for you, sweetheart.”
“Move me,” she said breathlessly. “Take control and get us both off.”
I gripped her hips and pressed my dick up into her core as I moved her hips back and forth against me vigorously.
“Oh, wow,” she said a few minutes later, burying her head in my shoulder. “I’m going to come.” Her body tensed and her sounds of muffled pleasure against my neck had my balls bursting and come shooting inside my underwear.
“Fucking hell,” I groaned, catching my breath. “This is becoming a habit.”
She looked at me curiously and laughed. “Would you like to borrow sweatpants?”
“Yes, please,” I said. “This is the one and only thing you’re not allowed to tell Kayden.”
“Why?” she asked, pulling me up with her. She grabbed her dress off the floor as we walked to the bedroom.
“He’ll be way too satisfied that this happened again,” I said with a shake of my head.
She stopped walking just inside of her bedroom and raised one eyebrow. “You know I’m going to make a point to tell him now and ask about the again in that statement, right?” she said with a laugh.
“I imagine you will both derive great satisfaction from the exchange of information.”
She tossed me a pair of joggers and I stepped into her ensuite bathroom to clean up, watching as she changed into leggings and a T-shirt next to me.
The sight was so domestic, so natural; like we’d had sex and gotten ready for bed together a hundred times before rather than this being our first experience.
She giggled and lunged for her phone when I walked into the bedroom in my T-shirt and her joggers that barely came past my knees. “This we need to show Kayden.”
She snapped a picture and quickly typed out a text.
We both crawled into bed, and I pulled her against my chest, already feeling sleepy again.
A minute later her phone dinged, and she laughed as she looked at it, exchanging another round of texts before holding it up for me to read.
Olivia: I suspect when he borrows clothes at your place, he doesn’t look this ridiculous, so I had to share. Also, I had a great time tonight, Kayden.
Kayden: Are you blind, Olivia? He’s rocking those highwaters. I’d hit that. And I had a great time too.
Olivia: I fucked him before the joggers went on.
Kayden: Probably a good call.
Olivia: Goodnight.
Kayden: Goodnight you two.
I read it and shook my head at her before kissing her head. She set an alarm and pushed the phone onto the nightstand. “Sorry to kick you out early,” she said.
“Don’t be, I’m glad I get to hold you all night,” I said, already starting to settle back down for sleep as she curled up in my arms. “Goodnight, Liv.”
“Goodnight, Jace.”
As I drifted off with Liv pressed against me for the first time, it was with the knowledge that she and Kayden and I were going to be together. That reality was better than any dream could compete with.
With the board presentation for the rehab facility only two days away, I temporarily pushed aside my desire to talk to Liv and Kayden about our future.
The fact that I was even bringing an update about the project before the board again was annoying and unnecessary, but Martin seemed intent on picking this apart.
He claimed the facility wouldn’t make money and wasn’t worth the expense.
He was right that it wouldn’t bring in enough revenue through regular billing to cover our expenses, but I had a team of people focused on donations aimed at funding this facility.
Not to mention, the profit-driven side of Acker Real Estate made more than enough money to permanently offset the expense of this facility, which was literally Sutton’s plan for my entire division.
Quality treatment centers shouldn’t be reserved for wealthy addicts, and I wasn’t backing down on this one.
The morning of the presentation, Kayden and I sat in my office reviewing the justification behind each of the amenities and additional expenses.
He had everything memorized and could defend just about anything, but I was the one who needed to translate his facts into a language Martin could understand: bottom lines and public relations.
We’d been at it for over an hour when Olivia came in with two cups of coffee.
“Sweetheart, you really don’t have to bring us coffee,” I said, already stealing myself for the bitter concoction she’d made.
She claimed she was trying to work through why the coffee kept coming out terrible, but it was safe to say she had not found the reason yet.
Lately she seemed to be adding more sugar in an attempt to cover up whatever the problem was.
“It’s literally my job to bring you coffee when you’re in this office,” she said.
“It’s not,” I said, giving her a stern look. “I’ve said that many times. And frankly, Liv, your coffee has not gotten any better.”
She gave me a dirty look before turning to Kayden and looking at him expectantly.
He took a sip and grimaced slightly before forcing a smile to his face. “It’s…if making coffee isn’t part of the job, you really shouldn’t worry about it.”
Her nose wrinkled and she huffed. “Can I just order a Keurig like I use at home, please?”
“Yes!” I said, reaching into my back pocket. “Please! Best solution you’ve had yet.”
I pulled out my wallet, found the company credit card, and tossed it in front of her on the desk. She took it with a pointed glare.
Kayden took another sip and furrowed his brow at me as he smacked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. “Is this burnt?”
“No, because you can’t burn coffee,” Liv said.
“Yes, you can,” he said. “The coffee beans could be stale; the machine could need to be cleaned. Are you leaving the coffee on a warmer? Cause that would do it too. Or are you doing something that makes the water temperature too hot to begin with? Could be something you’re doing when you grind the beans.
Are you grinding beans or using an instant coffee? ”
She folded her arms and glared at him. “You should read less.”
“I can’t forget the things I’ve already read, beautiful,” he said with a charming smile. He set down his coffee on the edge of my desk and adjusted his glasses.
She smiled at him. “Beautiful is a good choice.”
“Thanks, I thought so. It was on your list, after all.” He smiled proudly and their exchange made my heart sore.
She huffed again, looking at the coffee neither of us was touching anymore. “Would you two like me to go to Starbucks and get you something you’ll actually drink before this meeting?”
“That would be amazing,” I said with a flirty smile. “Not necessary, because your job includes many things more important than fetching me coffee, of course. But if my girlfriend were offering to get me better coffee than this shit my assistant made…”
Olivia marched around the desk and smacked me on the shoulder. I let out a howl of laughter. “You’re lucky you’re so pretty.”
Kayden was watching us with a smile that made me think he enjoyed our flirting just as much as I enjoyed theirs.
“He is pretty, isn’t he, Liv?” Kayden smirked. “So pretty, you kind of just want to climb over the desk and kiss him senseless.”
She looked at Kayden curiously. “Should we do that? Work together to drive him absolutely wild until it’s time for the meeting?”
I grinned, my dick twitching in response to her question. “Yes, forget the coffee, you should both get under the desk and have your way with me.”
Kayden shook his head and sighed. “Nah, he made fun of your coffee, Olivia. He doesn’t deserve it.”
“You’re the one who told her six ways she could have burned it,” I said.
Kayden shrugged. “That was helpful information.”
Liv snorted. “Hardly. I’ll be back with Starbucks.” She turned to look at Kayden as she walked out of the office. “I already know Jace wants whatever the seasonal, sweet latte is. What do you want, sexy?”
Kayden grinned. “I also like the seasonal lattes. Oat milk, please.”
She shook her head at us. “You two are perfect for each other and probably going to be a pain in the ass for me.”
“Will you grab something for Sutton too?” I asked. “Same as whatever you get me.”
“Sure thing, boss,” she said. My dick twitched again.
I don’t hate that.
I watched the sway of her hips as she left and caught Kayden watching the same thing. He turned back to me when she was out of sight.
“You want her bad, baby,” I said.
He tugged on his thick brown locks. “I’ve always wanted her, Jace. Making out with her the other night was so incredibly hot, and I appreciate that we decided to take it slower than the zero to sixty from the night we met, but I need to be inside her as soon as possible. I need to taste her again.”
“We should decide our next step as a throuple while we’re all together,” I said. “But she’s leaving early to get Kaylee. In-service day or something,” I said, trying to remember why she’d told me there was an early release.
“Okay, then when she gets back let’s talk to her because I’m ready. Do you want to go over the justification for the costs one more time?” He gestured to his laptop.
“No, now I’m thinking about the two of you and you’re about to turn into brilliant architect man in the boardroom. I’d rather you shut the door and crawl under my desk.”
“You’re serious?” he asked.
“I’m already hard,” I said, grabbing my erection through my suit pants. “I don’t want to come in my pants again like I did after your last board presentation. What if that’s a thing I do when you say super smart things?”
He laughed, shut the door, and walked around my desk.
“I don’t know, I kind of love the idea of you being stuck at that table, unable to get up because you’re so hard from listening to me talk about spreadsheets,” he whispered the last word in my ear like it was a tease.
“And blueprints,” he added, dropping to his knees.
He reached for my zipper and started to pull me out.
“Oh, Liv’s gonna give us shit for this. We sent her on a coffee run and now—” My words disappeared on my tongue as Kayden engulfed my dick in his mouth.
