Chapter Fifty
Jace
Sutton sat back in her seat and picked up her coffee with both hands.
She’d come over to my condo for breakfast more than an hour ago and she hadn’t asked one question or made one comment about Acker Real Estate.
She’d spent the entire time getting to know Kayden and Olivia and the gesture had clearly set them both at ease.
“Are we all ready to address the Martin situation?” she asked.
“Please,” Olivia groaned. “This has been great but that’s kept me up for two nights.
” She wasn’t exaggerating. Liv had been sleeping restlessly and I knew Martin had a lot to do with it, though I wasn’t positive the inquiring looks from the other moms at Kaylee’s school weren’t also to blame.
They’d been eyeing her and Kayden at drop-off and pick-up since the father-daughter dance.
It would blow over with time, but Olivia had never been in a situation that drew this much attention before and it clearly unnerved her.
I held her hand on the table and Sutton launched into our plan.
“Okay, first and foremost. Martin is fired. He doesn’t know that yet, but he will by the time we’re done tomorrow.
I’m planning to talk to the board and explain the situation ahead of time.
There is nobody there loyal enough to Martin to make me concerned that it’ll be an issue, but I do need to speak with each of them individually to hear their concerns because he sent each of them all the photos he sent me. ”
I groaned. “Of course he did.”
“We’ll do whatever it takes to protect, Jace,” Kayden said, putting a hand on my knee.
“I thought you all might feel that way.” Sutton smiled affectionately. “First, Kayden, we’re going to tell the truth about you meeting Jace in a bar and explain that your relationship was kept a secret due to your desire to keep your sexuality private at the time. Are you comfortable with that?”
“Of course,” he said.
“Sutton, we agreed that they had a choice,” I said.
“They choose to protect you,” she said, gesturing to them with her no-nonsense directness.
“Stop being a lawyer for five seconds,” I said.
“Fine,” she said. “He’s right, there are always other solutions. Though Jace and I are pretty smart, so these are the best ones.”
I turned to Kayden and Olivia. “You don’t need to agree to anything you don’t want. Either of you. This is option one, Sutton and I can come up with other options with your input if you want.”
“Okay,” Kayden said with a shrug. “But she just told the truth about us. So, that’s fine.”
“Great,” Sutton continued, “Olivia, I have a job offer for you.”
“Am I being fired?” she asked.
“No!” I exclaimed, glaring at Sutton.
“He’s right, if you want to keep your job, we’ll figure out a different option. Do you want to keep your job?”
“Depends on what your offer is.” Olivia eyed me with a smirk. “I’m not sure he can survive without me, but managing his calendar isn’t exactly my dream job. Do you know how many meetings he moves every day? It’s exhausting.”
“I can only imagine.” Sutton laughed. “Our manager at Ackerson’s just resigned.
It’s day hours. I know it’s not Harrison’s and the bartending is quite a bit different given it’s mostly wine and coffee drinks.
The current manager went in pretty early to prep but if you all can’t swing that with Kaylee, you and Adrian can figure out a plan. ”
“Are you serious?” Olivia asked, her face lighting up. Any reservations I’d had disappeared at the genuine excitement on her face. “I was going to call him once this all blew over! Kelly told me she was leaving. I would love to manage Ackerson’s. Does Adrian really want me to do that?”
“I hadn’t even finished telling him the problem before he asked if he could offer you the job,” Sutton said with an affectionate smile.
“Um, not to ruin this whole plan because I know how excited Liv is, but have you actually tasted Olivia’s coffee?” Kayden asked, looking apprehensive.
Sutton snorted. “Yes, and we’ll need to work on that.
But it’s a teachable skill. You’ve got a business degree and more experience than any of the applicants whose resume’s we’ve received already.
If you want the job, it’s yours. If you take it, then the story I tell the board is that you and Jace had a pre-existing friendship that evolved into something romantic and as soon as it did, you started looking for another job. ”
“Yes, thank you,” Olivia agreed. She pressed a kiss to my cheek. “Jace, I quit.”
I laughed. “Noted, sweetheart.”
“Are you really going to fire, Martin?” Olivia asked.
That was the part of the plan Sutton had insisted on figuring out alone.
She hadn’t wanted me involved in his punishment or in her discussions with the board to ensure things appeared as objective as possible, but she had filled me in last night. “Won’t that just make him more pissed?”
“He’s going to receive a very generous severance package along with an NDA and a restraining order in exchange for me not filing criminal charges. He had you followed and included photos of my son and daughter-in-law in his blackmail. He’s lucky I’m dropping it with this.”
“Damn, Sutton. Sloane and Lavi always said you were a good lawyer, but I’ve never seen you in action,” Olivia said with a laugh.
She set her coffee down. “I won’t tolerate anyone blackmailing the three of you—personally, or professionally. So, that brings me to the last announcement I have for the board.” She looked at me to provide the final update.
“I’m going to assume the role of CEO, effective immediately,” I said.
“Yes!” Olivia exclaimed.
“Is that what you want, babe?” Kayden asked. “I thought you were on the fence.”
“I was.” I nodded. “Sutton and I had a long conversation about this, and I laid out my vision for the company. I intend to restructure significantly, and the entire company will move in a more philanthropic direction. If we do this now, while Sutton is still the owner, it allows us to work on it together and implement all the major changes before I’m on my own. ”
Kayden smiled at me. “I’m happy for you. If that’s what you want, I support you.”
“It is,” I said confidently.
“I’m enthusiastically supportive,” Olivia said, “but can you do this from Boston?”
“Yeah, we’ll adjust where headquarters is located as part of the restructure,” Sutton said.
“Did this blackmail scandal result in your promotion?” Olivia said with a laugh. “God, Martin is such an idiot. If he’d shut up, he could have kept his job.”
Sutton shrugged. “He made his choices.” She turned to me. “And you, no more screwing your employees.”
“Not a chance in hell,” I said, squeezing each of their knees.
“Good, and we’re not losing an architect as brilliant as you, Kayden, because of your relationship.
I’ll have the lawyers draw up something for you both to sign disclosing the conflict of interest and they’ll probably require you to get multiple bids and board endorsement for future projects together, but the board loved your work on the rehab facility, so it’ll just be a formality to protect your credibility—both of you. ”
Kayden nodded. “Thank you. Of course I’ll sign it.”
“Good.” Sutton stood up. “Jace, I’ll see you tomorrow for the board meeting. I’m sorry to run, but Leo’s out of town for a game and I promised to take Sophia to her check-up today and film the entire thing for him.”
I snorted. “Hockey star needs to chill.”
“You’re telling me,” Sutton said, shaking her head. “Do you know he made me a list of foods she can’t eat?”
“He said he was going to do that. I advised against it.”
“He doesn’t listen, as you probably already knew,” she said, turning to Kayden and Olivia. “I’m sure I’ll see you both soon. Welcome to the family.”
We all said goodbye, and as soon as Sutton was gone Olivia jumped into my arms for a kiss.
“Where am I ever going to find an assistant who puts up with me as well as you do?” I asked as Kayden cleared away the plates.
“You won’t,” she said confidently. “You also won’t find one who’ll do what I’m about to do before we go to the office.” Blood rushed to my dick at her suggestion. “Though, might I suggest Cole?”
Kayden froze with a plate in his hand and looked at us quizzically.
“For sex?” I asked, laughing. “He’s cute I guess, but I already have two partners, Liv. I’m really not looking for a third.”
She smacked my shoulder. “I meant for your assistant.”
Kayden chuckled. “That’s actually not a bad idea. He seems like he wouldn’t be afraid to ride you like Liv does.”
“Okay, can you not use words that have a double meaning because I’m getting really confused,” I said as Liv rubbed herself against my thickening dick.
“Cole would be a good assistant for you,” she said.
“He’ll challenge you while being respectful.
He’s already used to dealing with you, he knows all your favorite lunch spots since he’s the one who receives the deliveries, and I’m pretty sure he’ll respect your privacy too because there is no way he didn’t catch on to the three of us a while ago.
Just think about it. As for riding, I am fully intending to ride your cock before we go to the office. ”
“He would be a good assistant, but he’ll never beat you.” I kissed her passionately and started walking to the bedroom. “You coming, Kayd?”
“I mean, some of us were planning to get work done today, but yes, of course I’m coming.”
“Good,” I said, growing harder as I thought about getting them in my favorite position.
A few minutes later, our clothes had been tossed about the bedroom.
I lay down on my back at the edge of the bed and Olivia climbed on top of me, straddling me and rubbing herself against my erection.
“Don’t tease me, sweetheart, we really do have to get to the office. ”
She gripped my dick and spit on it, pumping it as she moved the spit around.
Meanwhile, Kayden walked to the nightstand to get lube, stroking his cock as he watched Olivia.
She held my dick steady and lowered herself onto me.
I groaned as I sank into her wet heat. “Fuck, this is so worth almost losing my job.”
She chuckled and smacked my shoulder. Kayden walked to the edge of the bed and positioned himself between my legs behind Olivia before squirting lube at the base of my balls and letting it run down the crack of my ass. “Don’t joke about that,” she said. “I was really scared.”
“That wasn’t a joke, Liv.” I stilled her on top of me, overcome with a need to make sure her and Kayden never thought they were anything less than everything to me. “Move in with me.”
“What?” she asked, looking over her should at Kayden. He stopped moving his wrist and they both locked eyes with me.
“Move in with me. There’s plenty of space for all of us here. We can get a bigger bed if you want. Kaylee can have her own room, just, move in with me. And maybe don’t ever leave.”
Kayden grinned and stepped forward, giving me a kiss. “I’d love to move in with you, babe.”
Olivia looked between us. “You’re both serious?”
“Yes,” I said. “More serious than I’ve ever been.”
She took a deep breath. “Yes, of course, yes. But if you decide to do any other big, romantic asks, maybe don’t do it while everyone’s dicks are out.”
I snorted and kissed her. “Your request has been noted.”
Kayden pressed his fingers to my ass, and I groaned. “We’re still doing this though, right?”
“Hell yeah,” I said.
“Can I prep him for you?” Olivia asked.
Kayden nodded and stepped back stroking his dick. “Of course, beautiful.”
Olivia slowed her hips and shifted her body sideways, letting Kayden lube her fingers and guide them into my ass.
“Will I feel it when I find his prostate?” she asked.
“Yes, but here.” Kayden took her wrist and adjusted it slightly to help with the angle given her position, and I lit the fuck up as her fingers pressed against me.
I groaned, dick throbbing inside her. “Fuck, you two are so beautiful. Give me both of you.”
Kayden smirked at me as he dropped his dick and lubed up his fingers, adding them in beside Olivia’s. Olivia started to rock her hips back and forth and my dick pulsed.
“You better get in there before I lose it, Kayd,” I choked out. They withdrew their fingers and Olivia leaned forward, kissing me as Kayden stood at the edge of the bed and slowly pushed inside me, burying himself to the hilt.
He groaned and moved his hips slowly as I gripped Olivia’s waist, helping her bounce on top of me.
“Shit, I love this. I love you both so much. Being fucked by you both at the same time is incredible,” I said.
“We love you too, Jace,” Kayden said as his eyes rolled backward, and we all got lost in the bliss of each other. So worth almost getting fired.
