Chapter 26
KENNEDY
"Ican't believe you're here." I shoved Boone's flannel shirt off his shoulders, and lifted his T-shirt over his head, running my hands over his bare chest.
"I couldn't let you go on another day without knowing how I felt about you." His voice was rough.
He'd traveled to Miami to tell me he loved me and that he was willing to move to Florida. The love I felt for him expanded. I kissed his chest, my hands roaming lower.
He unbuckled his jeans and shoved them down.
He looked so handsome, standing in my apartment. I couldn't get over that he was here and that he was mine.
"You're wearing too many clothes," he said roughly as I hooked my fingers in the waistband of his briefs.
"You'll have to do something about that." Because I was focused on his very hard dick which was begging for my touch.
Before I could get my hand around him, Boone lifted my dress over my head, leaving me in a white lace bra and thong.
"You're gorgeous." He sucked on my nipple through the lace, and I gasped at the zing of electricity that shot to my clit.
His hand cupped my pussy. "Are you wet for me?"
I let my head fall back as he kissed my neck. "You'll have to find out."
His fingers slipped under my panties and between my folds.
I clung to his shoulders, feeling out of control now that he'd taken over.
He unhooked my bra, and I let it fall off my shoulders. Then he tugged my panties down, and I kicked them off.
I felt exposed, being naked in front of the windows. But no one could see this many floors up. This moment felt intimate, as if no one could penetrate it.
He kissed me, his fingers slipping inside and his other hand cupping my breast. I'd never felt more desired.
He worked his fingers inside me, driving me higher. I finally managed to wrap my hand around the base of his cock and tugged.
"I'm not going to last long if you keep doing that."
But I wanted him to feel as out of control as I did.
He pulled away from my grip and guided me over to the couch.
I knew exactly what he wanted and moved onto the couch on all fours. His hand moved between my legs.
I felt so needy to have him inside me. I'd gone days thinking that I'd screwed everything up and that I'd never get another chance with him. And now he was here in my apartment.
I wanted to urge him to move, but at the same time, I wanted to savor this moment.
He slid his cock between my folds, and I rocked back, searching for more. Then the tip of his cock slipped inside, and I gasped at the sensation.
His hands gripped my hips. "You're so gorgeous, taking my cock."
I arched my back and widened my legs for him. "Please, Boone. I need you."
He growled as he slid deeper.
He felt bigger at this angle. I curled my fingers around the fabric of the couch as he started to move, filling that ache that had formed deep inside me over the days we were apart.
I bit my lip against the sensations that threatened to overwhelm me. He'd set a pace that made it difficult to think straight.
He reached around and cupped my breast, tweaking my nipple before drifting lower to my clit. He rubbed the swollen nub, and I pushed back. He pressed harder, and I cried out, waves of pleasure washing over me.
It felt never-ending as he continued to move inside me, and when he finally let go, I collapsed on the couch.
He carefully pulled out and went to the bathroom.
He returned with a washcloth, carefully cleaning me and then turning us so that he was spooning me.
I rested my hand over his, feeling content.
Everything was finally right.
He was here, and he loved me.

The next morning, I made coffee, and we carried two mugs out onto the balcony. There were only a few people on the beach this early in the morning, so it felt like we had the world to ourselves. We cuddled on the cushioned couch, sipping our coffee, and watching the colors in the sky change.
"I appreciate that you offered to move to Miami, but I just don't see you here." I sat on his lap, my head cradled on his chest.
"I'm here now, aren't I?" His voice rumbled in his chest.
"This city isn't for you. You might try and fit in, but you'll always be a mountain man."
He chuckled. "Is that so? Then where do you suggest we live?"
I lifted my head and looked him in the eye. "I can visit Colorado between my jobs."
His brow furrowed. "Then you wouldn't be living in Miami anymore."
"How do you feel about me moving to Colorado?"
"Are you serious?" he asked, his expression cautious.
"I kind of fell in love with Hart Inn and your workshop apartment."
"I am building a house. We can make it what we want," he said carefully, as if he was afraid I'd change my mind.
I let out a breath. "Is it too soon? Are we moving too fast?"
"Let's take it one day at a time. If you want to try living in Colorado and see how it goes with your job, then we'll do that. I want you to be happy, so if you want to spend some time here, we'll work that out so that my business can operate with me in the workshop year-round."
"But you just made the decision to build your business. I don't want to get in the way of that."
He brushed a strand of hair out of my face. "We're going to see how it works and make changes as we need to. But I think both of us can be successful and make a schedule that works for us."
"I've been thinking a lot about that. How to make business work so that I can have a personal life.”
"I don't know what will work, but we'll figure it out together."
I sighed and rested my head on his shoulder again. "I can't believe you're here. I just never pictured you at the beach. Or at least, I tried and couldn't envision it. That's why I thought we'd never work."
"Beck said something to me in the beginning.
He said that when I was in love, I'd be willing to move my home and business to wherever you were.
I didn't believe him. It seemed like our differences were insurmountable.
But as time went on, I realized that my future looked empty without you in it.
I planned to talk to you the night you left. "
"I'm sorry about that. I really thought it was going to be an amazing opportunity. I've been working so hard to build my business. But I've been moving from one job to another, never stopping to think about creating a life that I can enjoy."
"I think we both have to work on a better work-life balance. We can be successful in our businesses while taking time off."
"I like the sound of that," I said, watching the sun move higher.
"We'll create the life we want," he said simply, and I couldn't agree more.
What was the point of working hard if you never got to enjoy it? And now that I was in love with Boone, it was time to make some changes.
I needed to trust that we could be successful while taking time for each other, and ourselves. The important thing was that we loved each other. We'd make it work.
