Braxton
“Braxton!” Angie rushes into the suite, breathless and crying with her hands covering her ears. “Holy shit.”
Rocco sidles up beside her, trying to get her to calm down.
“I can’t calm down! Some asshole burst into the bathroom and took Sabrina. He asked which of us was yours,” she recounts, her focus completely on me. “He threatened to shoot me if she didn’t go with him and then he shot at me.” She’s sobbing now and I can barely understand her. “He dragged her away by the throat.”
I see red instantly, getting to my feet quickly. “Stay here,” I order her and nod for Rocco to come with me.
“He has blond hair and he went out the back,” she shouts at my retreating form.
I know it’s Milo Bancetti but I don’t know how the fuck he got close enough to get Sabrina. I push my way through the crowd until I’m outside, my gaze scanning the overflow parking lot. I spot Sabrina immediately, she’s fighting with Milo, scratching his face and screaming loudly. The asshole backhands her and she falls to her knees.
“Get the fuck up now.”
“Brax is going to kill you,” she shouts through her tears.
That’s right, baby.
“Not before I use you to lure him to his death. Now get up.”
She folds her arms defiantly and I smile, motioning Rocco to go left while I go right. Milo’s entire focus is trying to get Sabrina to comply so he doesn’t notice us closing in. “No. I won’t let you use me to hurt him.”
Milo aims his gun at my woman and I see red but I know I have to stay calm. I love Sabrina and she loves me but we only get the future we deserve if I’m Merciless right now.
I’m close enough now to smell his cheap cologne and I pull out my gun and my dagger, pressing the gun to the back of his head. “I guess you got sick of living,” I say and add more pressure to the gun. “My mistake for letting you live this long. On your knees.”
He scoffs. “Fuck you, Braxton. You killed my father and I now I have the chance to return the favor.” His finger moves to the trigger. “You get to watch her die.”
“You won’t get the chance,” I assure him.
Rocco steps forward and Milo freezes. It’s small and fast but I notice it. He swings his gun to Rocco. “Who means more to you, I wonder.”
“Either way, you die.”
“We’ll see,” he says, aiming the gun back at Sabrina. “You’ll rush to her side and I’ll shoot you too.”
“Maybe,” I say and plunge the dagger into the joints of his right shoulder where he drops the gun. His knees buckle in front of me and I put two in his head, confident he’s dead before he even hit the ground.
Sabrina screams out, tears streaming down her face and I step over Milo to gather her in my arms. I pull back to look at her, fearing that I’ll see disgust for what she just witnessed.
Instead, she surprises me, cupping my face and kissing me quickly. “I’m sorry, Brax but I just couldn’t let him take Angie.”
“It’s okay,” I whisper and kiss her forehead. Her cheeks. Her mouth. “It’s done. He’s not a problem anymore. You still love me?”
She nods, flashing a trembling smile. “Always and forever.”
“That’s the only fucking thing that matters,” I tell her.
“I love you.” She smiles, stroking my jaw. “You saved me.”
“I always will.”
“Good. Take me home, please.”
I take her home and spend the rest of the night making her forget Milo but making sure she knows that no matter what happens, she’s mine and I always protect what’s mine.
Always.
