13. Vegas Baby

VEGAS BABY

CASH

Paige was more upset than I thought she would be by the news that I was now joining this Vegas vacation.

I was reckless last night—kissing her and walking away—but I couldn’t stand the idea of her being mad at me.

When I heard her bedroom door open, I was out of bed and heading out to the hallway before my brain could catch up to my heart.

I lingered in the dark hallway until she walked out of the bathroom. She drove me mad with the way she whimpered as soon as her lips were on mine. I wanted to bottle the sounds she made so I could listen to them whenever I missed her.

I’m so fucked.

How was I now supposed to get through this week knowing exactly how she felt in my hands? Even the sight of her made my cock stiff.

Tweety drove us the two hours to the airport in silence and we got through security fairly quickly. Once we were in our seats on the plane, I decided it was time for Paige to stop ignoring me. She had nowhere to run.

I turned to face her, but she was looking out the window.

“Come on, P. We can get along for a few days with the family. It’ll be fun.”

“If you let me have fun,” she mumbled, still looking out the window.

“Why wouldn’t I let you have fun?”

She turned to me with a furrow in her brow.

“You tell me, Cash. For some reason you have this stick up your ass that I’m a little girl who can’t handle herself.”

“I don’t think you can’t handle yourself.”

“Then what is it?”

“None of them are good enough,” I whispered under my breath, revealing a truth that I’d never spoken out loud.

“That’s not your decision to make. There will be none of this protector shit when we land in Vegas. I will have actual brothers there, so you’re off the hook for the next week. If you can’t deal with that, then I’ll tell them exactly how much fun I had last night.”

Her threat hung in the air as I took a deep breath. Paige was right—as much as that hurt to admit. If she was in trouble, then Axle or Reid could step in, and I should just keep my distance. I also couldn’t risk her telling them about our kiss. I nodded and sat back in my seat.

“Fine. I won’t step in your way.”

“Thank you.” She beamed at me and sat back, looking lighter than she had all day.

To my surprise, she dropped the conversation for the rest of the flight and we fell into a comfortable silence, neither of us bringing up the kiss from last night.

When we landed, we took an Uber to the hotel where the rest of the group had already checked in. Owen texted me the floor and we rode the elevators up to the penthouse. I had met Owen Kelly a few times, and I knew who his family was, but this was easily the nicest hotel I had ever stepped foot in.

When we reached the top floor, the elevator doors opened to a small hallway with two doors opposite each other. I gestured for Paige to knock on the door to the right—where the girls were staying—as I walked to the door on the left, which Owen instructed was the guys’ suite.

Before I could even knock, Reid swung the door open.

“Cash! I missed you!” He jumped forward and wrapped me in a hug so tight my feet lifted off the ground.

“Put me down, fucker.” I laughed.

He grabbed my bags and gestured for me to enter.

My jaw hit the ground when I noticed the details of the space.

The suite was two stories and had floor-to-ceiling windows that looked out over the Vegas Strip.

There were massive couches and a full kitchen with an island off to the side.

A huge rounded staircase led up to the second floor where the bedrooms were.

It was like a penthouse apartment inside a hotel.

I had no business being in a place this nice.

“Cash! Glad you could make it!” Owen Kelly came up to me with his hand extended.

“Thanks for the invite,” I said, shaking his hand.

“You’re basically family. It only felt right.” Owen smiled as Axle grabbed my bag and took it up the stairs.

A few other guys approached, and Owen gestured to them one by one.

“Cash, these are my brothers: Aiden, Nolan, Luke, and Colin. Guys, this is Cash. He is Walker’s best friend and basically part of the Brooks crew.”

We all shook hands as one of his brothers, Nolan, immediately started pouring drinks.

After a few rounds we decided to get changed for the night.

I wasn’t sure what the vibe was exactly, so I went with black slacks and a white linen shirt, sans cowboy hat.

I ran gel through my hair and tousled it so it looked perfectly messy.

It was completely unlike me and out of my comfort zone.

We walked into the girls’ suite to more shots of tequila being poured. I knew Owen fairly well, and I was starting to learn that he was actually one of the tamest of his family. There were a fucking lot of Kellys and they knew how to party.

Nolan Kelly handed me a shot, and I threw it back as the sound of giggles and clicking heels echoed from upstairs. The speakers started blasting “Chapel of Love” by The Dixie Cups, pulling our attention to the top of the stairs.

The girls descended behind Lottie who was wearing a skintight white dress that was practically sheer and a pair of white platform heels.

Owen let out a low whistle as she walked up to him.

The group cheered and clapped as they assaulted each other’s mouths, but my attention snagged on the beautiful blonde behind them.

Paige looked stunning.

She was wearing a strapless pink top that was made almost entirely out of tiny feathers, and a pair of skintight leather shorts with thin black heels. Her hair was in a slicked-back ponytail and the pink color on her lips looked edible.

Paige glanced over at me and her face broke into a wide, sultry smile as she did a little twirl. I swore this girl lived to drive me wild, her taste still lingering on my lips.

We still hadn’t spoken about last night, and I was nervous about what she’d say. She was a professional at keeping things close to the chest—she was almost scary good at it. It was impossible to read what she was thinking.

We’d agreed it was a one-time thing but now I wanted to punch myself for saying that. It was the second worst promise I’d ever made.

I’ll admit, this probably wasn’t the best setting to talk about how I wanted her tongue down my throat. We were standing in a room with her entire family—minus Walker—which meant I had to be on my best behavior.

It was the harsh snap back to reality I needed.

Everyone started pairing off and the music got turned up as Paige slowly made her way toward me.

She stopped directly in front of me and looked up through her thick dark lashes, her hands behind her back so her tits were pushed up perfectly.

My eyes bounced from her eyes to her shiny pink lips and all I wanted to do was haul her into me.

“You clean up nice,” she said with a smirk. “Not sure the last time I saw you go out without a hat on.”

I chuckled softly as my hands fell to her waist of their own accord. My thumb brushed her hip bone and she didn’t push me away.

“It honestly felt like a crime to leave without it.”

“You look good, but I prefer the hat.” She winked and patted my chest before turning on her heel and crossing the room with an extra swing in her hips.

My eyes trailed up her legs and landed on her ass as I stood frozen like a lost puppy.

“Okay, so the plan is that guys are going to the casino and girls are going to the club. We will all reconvene at midnight,” Owen announced to the group.

We said goodbye to the girls and headed downstairs to the expansive casino. Vegas had never really been my thing—I was more of a rustic country bar type of guy. My pants were a little too tight and my hair had way too much gel in it for my liking.

But this wasn’t my party so I was along for the ride.

“So, Cash, who are you looking to hook up with tonight?” Nolan Kelly clapped both hands on my shoulders as we walked into the casino. I was sure Reid and Axle had droned on about my reputation before I even got here.

“Not really looking for anything tonight.” I shrugged.

Owen stopped dead in his tracks with Axle and Reid directly behind him. The three of them turned to me in shock.

“I’m sorry. I think my ears are clogged. Did you just say you’re not looking for a woman tonight?” Owen asked, rubbing his hand up and down his jaw.

“You feeling okay?” Axle laughed.

“Don’t tell me.” Reid’s lips tipped up at the edges. “Did someone nail down Cash Leonard?”

“That’s none of your fucking business.” I scoffed, continuing past them.

“It’s okay, dude, it happens to the best of us,” Nolan Kelly chimed in as the guys followed.

I just shook my head and tried to keep it to myself that the girl who was rapidly stealing my heart was none other than their little sister—the single girl I wasn’t allowed to have.
