Epilogue One
Fiona
“You look beautiful, Mo Stóirín.” Saoirse zipped up the back of my dress.
“You look beautiful yourself.” I gave her a kiss.
She looked so hot that I wished we were alone, so I could crawl under her gown.
“Both of you are so beautiful that I can’t stand it,” Timotheé said. The blond omega assassin had a thick French accent, impeccable sense of style, and never let me forget that he was from Paris.
I hadn’t seen him in ages. It looked like he gained a little weight, but that wasn’t a bad thing. It also could be intentional for one of his missions. Often, he had to maintain a cover.
“You aren’t going to be able to run very fast in that dress,” Dom said as she looked to see if my makeup needed any finishing touches.
“I think for one night I’d just let my mates protect me.” I had indulged in the dress I wanted, instead of the practical choice.
It was gold and sparkly with a plunging neckline and a mermaid skirt. Something that, yes, was a little hard to run and kick in. But I’d let my mates protect me tonight.
After all, it was my day.
While the entire brunch society were my attendants, those two were back here with me, since they were the ones I was closest to.
We were in a small room near the castle gardens getting ready. It had a beautiful view, big mirrors, a couch, and snacks. Our pack was also staying here in another wing. The guys were getting ready in our room.
“I don’t understand why you don’t plan on going into Paris during all of your European travels. You know I’m from Paris.” Timmy gave me an exasperated look.
“Oh? I don’t think you’ve ever mentioned that?” Saoirse gave him a look, then fixed her red lipstick.
“We can't go to Paris. Apparently, Carlos and Dusty have gotten themselves banned from the city when they broke a fountain.” It absolutely baffled me that somebody could be banned from a city.
But if anyone could, it would be them.
“I am speechless.” Timmy looked baffled.
“If only that were true.” Dom laughed.
“It’s fine,” I added. “I’ve been to Paris many times and honestly, it’s a little boring.”
He sucked in a breath and put a hand to his chest. “How dare you.”
I rolled my eyes. We actually hadn’t planned on doing any major tourist activities. After Feral Ratville, we spent a couple of days lounging about in Greece, then went to Ireland so we could see my grandparents, Saoirse’s grandfathers, and other important people.
“This castle is gorgeous. Your pack is loaded, isn’t it?” Timmy wasn't from a wealthy family, just a well-connected one. He sometimes lamented how once his family was royalty, but now they were just fallen gentry.
“My dads and grandparents contributed heavily. We just bought the things we didn’t want to argue about and directed most of our money towards traveling. Also, we do have a baby coming.” I smirked.
“I have a special baby gift for you,” Timmy added to Saoirse. He knew her pretty well since they were both part of the Company.
“Where are you going after this?” Dom asked as she added more sparkles to my face. Her long, dark hair was up, and her sage green dress complimented her tan skin perfectly.
“One of Hale’s sister’s packs owns luxury resort hotels. They let us pick which one we would like to spend a week at. We’re going to lie out on the beach, and fuck, and sip drinks with tiny umbrellas in them.” There were a few places that we were going to see, but mostly we wanted to be together.
“That sounds really nice.” Dom started fussing with my hair, which had already been professionally done.
Neither of them had come to Feral Ratville, sadly. Timmy had work, and Dom had family shit. But they’d both come to the mating shower.
“I’m so happy for you. I’m glad that you got the pack of your own choosing. I wish my family would stop being overprotective long enough for me to find mine,” Dom said wistfully.
“You will,” I assured.
Someone knocked on the door.
“Princess, can we come in?” my dad asked.
Dom took a step back. “You look perfect. They’re going to lose their minds when they see you.”
“My mates lose their minds every time they see me.” I grinned at Saoirse.
Saoirse’s eyes blazed as her scent flared with desire. “You know I do.”
Oh, I did. Pregnancy made her quite amorous.
Saoirse opened the door. “Hello, Finn.”
“Oh, hello, Saoirse. I didn’t realize you would be getting ready together.” Dad entered, followed by Daddy. The two of them came in wearing tuxes, flowers pinned to their lapels.
“Why wouldn’t we?” She gave him a pointed look.
He put his hands up in surrender. “Your pack application has been approved. You're getting married today. You don’t need to threaten to fight me anymore. She’s yours.”
“I want to see them fight,” Timmy whispered to Dom.
My dads had argued with me a bit when we said we wanted a small wedding in a castle. But when I offered that they could throw me a party in Boston in a few weeks and invite whoever they wanted, they relented.
“We brought something for you, Sweetie,” Daddy said.
“Really? Thank you.” My heart fluttered. Though I was wearing my mother’s wedding jewelry already.
“We found her veil. I know you said you weren’t going to wear one, but in case you do…” Daddy opened a box. Inside was a short, layered, gold net veil on a little comb. It was covered in gold pearls and little sparkles.
“The only reason why I didn’t want to wear one is because we couldn’t locate it. I can’t believe you found it.” I put my hand in my heart.
“May I?” Dad asked.
“Of course.” I turned around, my back to him, as he placed a little comb in my hair. By Dom’s face, I could tell that she would be fixing it as soon as he left.
“You look beautiful,” Daddy said.
“I think she would be quite proud of you for sticking to your beliefs and finding a pack of your own. We really appreciate how much work you put into bringing your pack to this point.” Dad kissed me on the cheek.
My heart swelled. “You’re proud of me? That means everything.”
That’s all I ever really wanted to hear.
“We’re always proud of you, but we are especially proud of how far you’ve come in the past six months,” Daddy replied.
“The fact that you have also managed to still keep all your benchmarks and get your app to testing is admirable,” Dad added.
It gave me something to do when Hale was studying and Carlos was practicing.
I also felt useful, like I was doing meaningful work.
Not that my pack didn’t appreciate all my redecorating.
They did. Our place was just that… ours.
Even my advocate had complimented me when she’d done all my home visits, and you know she’d seen all the nice places.
“I love that app,” Dom said. Lots of my friends were testing my app, but we had other testers as well.
“We’re proud of you, too,” Daddy added to Saoirse.
“Thank you, Eoin,” she replied with a nod, and then her eyes flickered to Finn as if to say, aren’t you proud of me?
“You’ve done a very good job this past six months. I hope that Dusty does as good of a job being head alpha,” Finn replied.
I’d actually wanted Saoirse to stay head alpha, since legally, the head alpha could be any designation. But in the end, she wanted Dusty to have it. It also made sense.
“Thank you, Finn–and he will. Also, I appreciate the thoughtful gift.” Saoirse looked at her phone. “Are we ready? The coordinator wants to know.”
“We are,” I replied, with one more glance in the mirror.
“We’ll see you out there. You look so beautiful.” Dad gave me another kiss on the cheek and Daddy kissed the other.
“That turned out cute.” Timmy had out his phone. “Don’t worry I’ll send it to you.”
“I’d like that, thanks,” I replied, making sure I had everything.
“Please tell me Finn gave you weapons as a gift.” Dom grinned at Saoirse as she fixed my hair and veil.
“Oh, he did,” Saoirse stated.
The coordinator appeared in the open door. “Ready? It’s time to get everyone lined up.”
Saoirse gave me a kiss. “I’ll see you up there, Mo Stóirín.”
I went out on the patio by the garden with the rest of the brunch society. As my attendants, the ladies all wore sage green dresses while Timmy wore a sage green tie, and vest.
Saoirse’s brother and cousins wore taupe vests and ties. Carlos had his sisters, Gwen, and his cousin Jorge, who all wore apricot. Big Tad, Creed, Mercy, Verity, and Dare were Hale’s attendants and wore bronze.
The florist made sure we all had our bouquets. The wedding coordinator got everyone lined up. We weren’t having any children in our wedding, but we had given them all special jobs.
Lucky, the imaginary cat, also had a task. I tried to object, but apparently that was a non-negotiable.
I still didn’t understand the imaginary cat. Though Ispín was included.
“It's starting.” Timmy pulled me to the side so that we could watch the procession until it was our turn.
The garden was beautiful and the weather was perfect–cloudy but not rainy. Dusty, who wore a black tux with a gold vest and tie started, holding Ispín, who wore a gold bow tie.
Saoirse’s attendants went next, followed by Saoirse in her beautiful dress. She stood on one side of the flower arch, Dusty and Ispín behind her.
Carlos and his attendants followed. The coordinator lined us up. Hale and his attendants got ready to walk down the aisle. Once they were down the aisle my attendants started.
Hale and Carlos stood by the flower arch on the opposite side of Saoirse. Both of them looked so yummy in their new tuxes. My dads had given all three of the guys nice watches and they all wore them.
Honestly, Saoirse got the better gift. Watches didn’t shoot people.
If they did? Need.
Since we had so many attendants, only Dusty, Mercy, Jorge, and Timmy stayed. Everyone else sat down in the rows assigned to them on one side. The front rows of the other side were filled with our families.
Finally, the music changed and everyone stood. Some omegas would have one of their parents walk them down the aisle, a remnant of those old days where parents would give their omegas away in marriage–literally. Here, take this omega and give me a house or cows, or money.
