5. Nora

It’s the day people everywhere—for different reasons—have been waiting for.

Where the building is situated, most people wouldn’t venture out this far.

It’s too dangerous and being out in the open like this is a sure-fire way to get yourself attacked, or better yet, killed.

Paz and Sky are going through the black duffel bags, making sure we have everything needed for the rest of the night.

But my attention is strictly dedicated to keeping watch. I’ve checked my handgun six times before we left the compound, repacked my duffle five, leaving me with one thing… making sure nobody enters the building other than those three men.

“Sky, pass me the plastic sheeting, I have space in my bag,” my sister, Paz, says from behind me, bringing me back to reality.

The rustling of plastic assaults my ears, but still, my eyes never leave.

Not until I watch them enter the building, and the soft golden glow of their torches dances behind the newspaper covered windows.

Enjoy your last moments of freedom, assholes.

“Hey,” Sky says, resting a forearm on each seat up front. I turn to face her, the corner of my mouth turning up. “You good?”

I raise my hand, softly cupping her chin. “Always.” Leaning forward, I press a kiss against her soft lips. “Are you okay?”

“Uhh.” I hear my sister interrupt. Both me and Sky turn to face her, a smirk brightly covering my face. “When did this happen?” Paz points between both me and Sky.

“Yesterday, while you were on your way over.” I wink.

“Finally,” Paz groans.

“What do you mean finally?” Sky frowns.

“Oh, come on. With the way you’ve been looking at my sister recently… it was obvious to everyone but Nora how infatuated you were with her,” Paz jokes, tucking her Glock inside the holster attached to her hip. “At least I don’t have to listen to my sister’s incessant yearning over you anymore.”

Sky turns to face me. “Yearning, huh?” She fights the smile on her face, teasing me with those beautiful blue eyes of hers.

“We’ll talk about it later.” Rolling my eyes, I press my lips to the space between her brows and breathe her in.

“Remember what I said.” I pull away from Sky and focus on both her and my sister. “No fucking around. We go in and we get the job done.”

Paz claps her hands together furiously with excitement. “I don’t think I’ve been this excited since I slept with Danny Masters behind the Science building.”

“The quarterback at our school?” Sky questions in shock.

Paz nods. “Uh huh.” Holding both her hands inches apart she mouths the words, ‘This big.’

“Bullshit,” Sky chimes in. “There’s no way. How are you even walking still?”

“Trust me, it was so big I thought it was going travel up my stomach and out of my oesophagus.”

“Jesus Christ.” I chuckle silently. “Can we not do this right now?”

“No, listen to this…”

As my sister begins to go into full detail about her secret time with Danny years ago, I can only concentrate on the building in front of me… and what’s to come during the course of the night.
